[3.10] Gryph's Volatile Dead Necromancer || Fun, Medium Budget, Tanky, Millions of DPS

"Gain Fortify for 6 seconds on Melee Hit with a Mace, Sceptre or Staff
30% increased Damage with Maces, Sceptres or Staves"

What do you think about taking overlord passive on clusters with this build? Im almost going to buy megalomaniac with it but im not sure is it worth it.

I would do it on a megalomaniac jewel with at least 1 other good notable. Just keep in mind that fortify affects scolds self inflicted damage as well.

Can you explain the significance of Elemental focus? Why are we curbing our chance to ignite when so many parts of the build depend on it? (ie Conderswallow)

I use Ele Focus for the upfront damage on VD. You already have ~49% chance to ignite using Combustion Support on your 6L CWDT setup with Purifying Flame + Wave of conviction and with how many times you set off that 6L CWDT, the enemy is bound to be ignited whether it's from Combustion or if you crit with either Purifying Flame or Wave of Conviction.

This is my crit chance for my character:
Spell Crit on Chest, no flasks: 62%
Using Spell Crit on Chest, spell crit implicit on gloves, no flasks: 70%
Chest + Gloves + Flasks: 99.16% Effective crit

You can also move links around in your setup. For me, I wanted to fit in flame dash so in reality my "6L" CWDT setup is CWDT - Combustion - Purifying Flame - Wave of Conviction - Culling Strike - Flame Dash (lol). If you're concerned about ignite, swap culling strike and flame dash for Ball Lightning + GMP that way every time your CWDT goes off you will have 5 lightning balls with ~50% chance to ignite its target.
I'm really enjoying this build a lot. Thanks!

I have been able to clear everything in the game with this and had a lot of fun doing it. I did add some cluster jewels to mine that I think really help boost the DPS to the next level. I am currently running with 4 of these.

Atziri + Uber Atziri are a big no due to reflect (yes you can take the unique ring and the pantheon but you still one shot yourself since your cyclone is phys damage)

You can still do these. Just make sure that you are not spinning on top of the Atziri that is holding the mirror in her split phase.

What are your resistances in order to make most out of wise oak flask?
Leveled this build as my second character (first was IceStorm Scion, which cleared all content) and I really enjoy mapping.

However, even after spending a few doznes of exalts I still have some problems with survivability at endgame bosses, and, most importantly, I have a strange feeling: when I kill regular mobs, I feel like DPS is much higher than my IceStorm char, but when I kill bosses, the DPS feels really lacking.

I have 20-30 exalts to spend, but I honestly have no idea what big upgrades could help solve my problems.

Could anyone help me pls?

Ohhh let's have a looksie!

Get a medium cluster jewel with Master of Fear and Wish for Death. Then remove culling strike from CWDT. If you can then also find a slot for it, Unearth+GMP will boost DPS by a significant margin on single target. I could justify dropping Stone Golem and moving Wave of Conviction to that slot. Play around with it and see what you like of course. To go along with producing more corpses, Awakened Spell Cascade is also quite significant.

If you cannot find a way to make that work, 1 socket free for power charge on critical is nice for getting power charges to boost crit chance.

Bottled Faith is a MASSIVE DPS upgrade. Roughly 25% more for most people.

Spell Crit chest is also really great. You have a super legit Icestorm chest though I gotta say. I'm currently playing Icestorm and it's making me a little jealous. XD BUT! Getting a crit chest will boost your DPS a fair bit.

Also you have a level 21 clarity instead of a Discipline?? Makes your watcher's eye look a little silly :P

I feel like this is self explanitory.

Highest is fire.

Make them all the same for maximum benefit.

HOLY POTATO!

I've completely forgotten that you need Discipline enabled for WE to work. Omg, I've levelled from 70 to 92 with a 15 ex jewel turned off. How stupid can I be?

Thank you very much for your recommendations, I will try to implement some of those. I like the idea with Unearth, Aw Spell Cascade and probably Bottled Faith as well.

Appreciate your response

Edit: OMG I AM UNKILLABLE NOW! Man, that Wtacher's Eye is just amazing, you really made my day by noticing how stupid I am

Since Cinderswallow with the Crit mod is fairly expensive, is it worth grabbing one with one of the other mods? 3% life regen/sec or 15% damage taken leeched as life?

I guess similarly, is it worth grabbing a cheaper Watcher's Eye without one of the skills we NEED?

Yes to both.

I mean, use a watcher's eye with a USEFUL mod at least. :P
