I would invest into really good jewelry. Specifically rings. If you know where you want to take the build as your end game, then you can get rings with the resists you'll need to make those upgrades. Nothing more infuriating then upgrading to an Aul's and needing to cover the lost resists somewhere. Same goes for a chest piece, if you don't need the resists on a chest, you can use whatever chest piece you want! :D

As for leash vs Stygian...That's up to each person. Leash is for access to Bone offering for extra tank. If you want more damage then go for a Stygian. It really depends on what you want in that regard. I'll probably be switching to a stygian at some point for the Flask charges on crit Hunter mod. It just looks fun to me. :D

Just, get your chaos res covered, get a watcher's eye, and decide from there if you want more defense or damage basically. Some guys completely forgo any block whatsoever in favor of more damage. I like my block, but I like to be really tanky. To each their own.
So getting sick of not being able to sustain the damage I did the math, with spirt offering at 15% of your max health you need about 4200 HP to offset the damage - I don't have that yet so not 100% sure but hope this helps others

sitting at 9000 eHP (4k hp + 5k ES)
and 492k standard boss DPS with flask and buff

1-ANNOITMENT:
I only see 1 more annoitment on my amulet but I have NO idea what to take

should i go more chaos res? (currently at -11%) but annoitment only gives like 8% chaos res maximum...

other is "30% increased Maximum total Recovery per second from Energy Shield Leech" important? considering i have nearly 2% ES leech ?

2-Watcher eye
I am already looking for a watcher eyes with % mana gain as dmg taken on clarity and
gain a flask charge on critical strike from Precision
OR
ES gain on hit (but i do not use ball lightning so i am not sure if it is worth it?)


3-other jewel (crit multi)
I will also get 2 more level to unloack an other jewel slot and get a 33% crit multi jewel


4-10% of max life as ES on armor
still looking to unveil the recipe, as soon as i got it i will put it on my armor instead of the flat ES


6-awakening elemental focus
will need to buy this too

btw for people looking for easily more damage, if you take a large thread of hope u can get Sovereignty node to reduce mana reserved and with enlighten lvl 3 u can use 4-5auras (i use Discipline, HoA, Zealotry, Clarity, Precision)

Am I off to the right start on the chest and weapon? Or will the weapon not suffice due to no CWC? I figured i could just use CWC , but maybe it's more required than say +3 fire gems.

I mean that's better than a Martyr. haha. If you have the ballz and wanna double corrupt your chest you could get more damage that way via +Gems :P

But yeah the chest is great. Staff is *fine* but you'd have to plug into PoB to see if it's actually better than Martyr.

To be precise (for everyone) it's calculated from your base life.

For example, I have 1,655 base life. So we take 15% of that...

248.25

And then we take the %increased life and %increased energy shield from all sources and add them together. For me this is 149% Increased life and 241% increased energy shield. 390% Increase total, or a 4.9x multiplier.

248.25 * 4.9 = 1,216 ES gained from Spirit Offering.

CWDT triggers each time we take a total of 528 damage. Theoretically this should be easily overcome and I honestly haven't figured out exactly why there is so much trouble at early levels as even then you're getting more than that from the offering.

Some things I know that have an effect:

Physical damage mitigation. at a base cyclone has 55-59 mana cost depending on links. I have 59. that's 236 damage per attack. 3 attacks is 708 = enough to trigger, but that's more to need to recover from. mitigating some of this and still keeping to 3 attacks per proc will, of course, help.

Attack speed. CWC procs VD every .35s...if we attack too slowly then VD can consume corpses multiple times before Spirit Offering gets a chance to take some. I remember this being an issue prior to getting Corpse Pact and more or less solving it with an onslaught flask.

I know that in vulnerability maps it feels better as you take more damage faster and are basically at cooldown for Spirit offering. Faster attack speed (think base of the staff APS) would help but mana struggles become super real.

There's way too much super technical stuff that I don't even fully understand. I just know that eventually it works and ES on hit is OPAF. XD

currrently levelling up and have some thoughts..

1. It's very slow, when I start spinning in particular. Will this be changed in some way later on?
2. I level with a tabula and 6link desecrate+volatile together. but in the end build they are not linked together. does that mean I will have to stop spin and manually cast desecrate every pack or am I missing something? :)
3. where is the mana issues ppl are talking about? Right now I can spin for an hour without losing mana. And I didnt take alira for mana reg (will change this in a while)

very satisfying to play this far!!

I am using this build mixed with an another cwc volatile dead build currently. In longer bosses I still have quite the problem with mana after my flask charges are gone. Which is quite a big problem during Sirus fight.

How much those damage taken gained as mana mods would help? Or should I aim for a staff change to get more dps?(currently using disintegrator)/ or the Aul amulet to get Zealotry aura too? Probably more crit would be good really important but I would loose quite a lot of hp with that:S

I just lucked out on alt spamming a blue staff with just a CWC mod on it. Can anybody tell me on how I should go about on continuing with the crafting? I really don't want to fuck it up because I really just started learning about crafting on this thread. Thanks!

Damage taken gained as mana over 4 seconds is an insane amount of mana recovery. If you want to drop the flask I highly suggest getting it on jewelry (6% per piece, can be amplified to 7% with fertile Catalysts) or via a watcher's eye with the clarity mod--though ES on hit + that mod will run you anywhere from 15-25ex.

If you use stampedes, you can slap battle rouse onto them for another 8%.

Also, in general %Increased mana regen does a *ton* for us. I use the boot enchant:

And this gives me another 163 mana regen per second. This is because we get 4% of our max mana regen per second from ascendancy as well as up to 50 flat mana regen from it. Essence Glutton OP.

I encourage you to read the whole guide and the explanations on the mechanics. :P

Short version is, yes it's much faster after you get to maps and have all your labs completed.

And no you will not have to self cast Desecrate. Mechanics. Scold's. Cast When Damage Taken. The whole shebang. :)
