[3.20] Ice Dancing Queen - Icestorm/Cyclone/CI - Viable For Everything
|
Edit: Just saw your full tree and your RMR. Don't think I can pull that.
" I was loosely following the Occultist guide while looking at someone's build on POENinja. I see your setup and may wind up switching to something more along the lines of what you have. I was thinking of working in Cold Conduction to apply shocks and run without Skitterbots. This would require losing Woke Ele focus out of the links for Icestorm or relying on Vortex to chill with a hit. Would this be worthwhile? I could then fit in Flesh and Stone. However, seeing your setup, maybe this isn't a thing to worry about? Or perhaps I could still roll how you have your curses, while doing the above and still running Flesh and Stone instead of Skitterbots? Last edited by LumpsIsHigh#6219 on Mar 7, 2021, 10:42:25 AM

" I've just set them to public. Fixed the gem quality since I had enough GCP hanging around, and there are a couple other upgrades courtesy of Harvest that brought my ES up a little more. Aside from int stacking, does this build have any other defensive layers or does it mostly just rely on being able to out-leech any damage it receives? Flasks are nice when they're up, but I don't imagine I'll be phasing Sirus in under 10 seconds with this.

I could use some help with improving my damage.
Inside the feared i get over runned because im slow at killing them. How much extra dmg will i get if i get awakened hextouch? I missed the info part about hex + 1 curse so my setup is currently like that ( without the awk hex) Is there other spots or thing i can improve or mistakes i have made? Having a hard time getting the correct info in pob due to icestorm configuration |

" It does use Fortify which you can get on a Megalomaniac. Its on the node Overlord. It also gets a lot sturdier when you get a watcher's eye with Energy Shield gained for each Enemy Hit while affected by Discipline. So looking at your build, yeah go for that helmet I suggested earlier, just 12% int and fire resistance increases your ES by 75 but it increases your hit damage by 17k. The other thing would be to dump the Apocalypse cut cluster jewel and replace it with a Overlord Megalomaniac. You'll lose about a 800 ES, but gaining Fortify is no joke. But yeah once you do those 2 things, just slowly replace your ES gear with INT priority gear and ES second. As your INT goes up so does your damage and your ES may go down slightly, but with you damage going up so does your leech. |

" I think you need someone with a little more experience than me with the build but it looks like you have plenty of Strength. So if you drop Prowess, and the 2 intelligence nodes above Cold Hearted Calcualation, and instead connect across Trickery through Elemental Focus to Cold Hearted Calculation it ups your average hit by 8k. To make up the Strength loss to get it above Dex again, replace your Loath Joy Jewel with another jewel with at least 12 Strength, 14% increased Cold damage, and 12 Lightning Res. This wont up your damage anymore, but it gets your Str above Dex again. It looks like you could afford a much better jewel, but that's the minimum. |

" Aha. I'd wondered why no Fortify support. Got a helmet in progress, and I'll see what I can find for the rest. Cheers!
" I was hoping i could save enough currency and buy a corrupted belt with increase strenght on it, so might combine that with your suggestion |

Hi, thanks for this amazing build, having a ton of fun with it!
Two things I havent figured out yet though: - where does ES-/Mana-Leech vome from, besides Heart of Ice and Light eater? - How should the Wave of Conviction/Immortal call Setup be leveled? As I see it the (anomalous) cwdt should be maxed, meanwhile the immortal call stays low level (why? due to maxing cwdt it can proc even with higher level, and higher level will give higher dmg reduction) and the increased duration is not being maxed either. Some clarification for this would be appreciated :) Thanks again for the awesome build! |

I have a few quick questions about custer jewels. I have one large cluster with the recommended 3 notables, and i am crafting another. So far, i have blanketed snow, prismatic heart, and widespread destruction on the one i am crafting. Is it worth continuing to try to get cold to the core instead of blanketed snow?(i am using a subpar jewel with only cold to the core and prismatic at the moment while crafting this one)
Also, in terms of megalomaniac jewels: Is thaumophage a worthwhile notable? Does Master of Fear stack? (I have it on my medium curse jewel already) And finally, would a 3rd prismatic heart be worthwhile. I would only take any of these if paired with cold to the core, genius, or overlord, but wanted to know if they were worth the passive point over other choices. I've looked a bit in pob, but i'm not good with all the numbers, etc. Thanks in advance for any info |

" For the large cluster jewel you want CttC. That is the thing you want. CttC alone is better than any combination of other 3 passives you can get to that jewel. The other notables don't really matter as long as you have CttC. Now that we have established that CttC is the only thing that matters, what is 2nd best notable. And that is Prismatic Hearth. Notables with %increased damage are not really good because multiple CttC and % spell damage per x int and high int you can easily be running with 1000+% increased damage already. So increasing that to 1030% is not that big of an upgrade. Because this build is very hungry for passive points, and you want to spend one of the suffix spots in pretty much every item to +int and another +%int where you can get it, you have very limited slots to gain resistances. This is why you want Prismatic Hearth. And then comes what you want to be your third notable. In large cluster jewels you have 3 spots for notables. In 8slot jewel, you have one on right side and one on left side of the "entrance", just before empty sockets and third on opposite side of the entrance. If you have notables A, B and C in cluster, in order, lets say A is right side, B is left side and C is opposite side, every cluster that have those 3 notables have them in exact same spots. For this large clusters you want CttC and PH to be once next to entrance so you can get those 2 and the 2 empty sockets for 5 passive points. So the 3rd notable doesn't matter. Except it matters. Widespread Destruction is the only 3rd notable that pushes CttC and PH to the 2 closest spots. For every other notable ether CttC or PH would end up in the spot opposite to the entrance, meaning you would need to send 2 extra passive points to get those 2, or end up without one of them (PH). I would not consider Thaumophage worthwhile. Energy leech you can get is capped based on % of your max ES, so you don't really need more of it. Increased spell damage is, like I explained earlier, not that large upgrade and here it works only if you are in full ES. You are pretty much taking hits and leeching ES almost all the time so it is not active that high % of the time. And finally hinder effects do not stack. if you have multiple active only the strongest apply and Aspect of the Spider already gives you just as strong hinder effect. So Thaumophage does pretty much nothing. Master of fear (or Unnerve) does not stack. 3rd PH might be good or not. I can't see your characters so can't really say, it is something you should be able to answer yourself. Do you need more resistance? If you get it can you drop resistance on some other item and get something better (int) instead? |
