[3.20] Ice Dancing Queen - Icestorm/Cyclone/CI - Viable For Everything
" Awakened Hextouch allows the linked skill to apply an extra curse |
|
" As Zephryl said, Awakened Hextouch gives +1 but it's like 10 ex right now, too crazy. Personally I just diverted 4 skills points to get Whispers of Doom (next to Chaos Inoculation), until I can afford Awakened Hextouch. |
|
" Alternatively, throw Blade Blast in the 6L in place of the 3rd curse (Elemental Weakness) for the Unnerve effect (Unnerved enemies take 10% increased spell damage), until you can get Awakened Hextouch. Since that last slot is just there for damage amplification, BB serves the same (albeit a smaller) purpose. Last edited by Seiyashi7184#0978 on Jan 24, 2021, 11:10:03 PM

So, just got to the point of starting to map now and wondering what my priority on gear upgrading should be?
Got my first ex drop, so I can probably buy something nice now instead at looking for the budget <10c options. |
|
" get a max roll cyclopean (xedit: mb get an uncorrupted one if you can afford and toss catalysts on it) divine astramentis and anoint it (mystic talents should be fine for your budget, gold oils are still like 50c rn and historically they fall from there), catalyst it too try to move a couple more res to your right ring so you can eventually drop them from chest anoint the boots too with a cheap 30 int node if nothing else (half the reason you use stampede is for 2x anoints) from there it kinda depends on how you feel about your survivability/dmg, you'll need around 3ex to craft your endgame chestpiece so you can save up for that, or see about picking up cluster jewels also re: clusters have all the jewels & respec points prepped, i think you'll need to be at least lv. 86-87 at a bare minimum Last edited by airesettia#6544 on Jan 25, 2021, 8:09:16 AM

Awesome, thanks!
I'll have to look into anointing tomorrow then, looks like that's my next step forward while I keep an eye out for a better Ring. I assume you can only have one of each type of Anointment? So the goal would be Tranquility and Mystic Talents eventually? Does it matter if I use catalysts before/after Anointing? I don't wanna lock myself out of something like Corruption would. I didn't play in either of those leagues, so, still new to what they all do. |

Has anyone considered replacing the Ball Lightning for the curse setup with Hydrosphere?

Thanks for all your answers, i'm not used to awakened gems, i haven't play since before there release, i ll just try with whisper of doom until i can buy it like you said.
@Zephryl : You can use catalyst before or after anointment, anointments works like enchant an doesn't count like a mod roll ( these one you have to do them before using catalyst or the quality will go down fastly ). And anointments doesn't lock your items, you can modify them afterward. Mystic talent & tranquility are your goal but you can use Diamond Skin until you have tranquility ( or until your resistances are fixed ) because sometime, switching part of your stuff will change your resists a lot. It's more about QOL ( i've switched to tranquility & mystic talent arround lv 90 after i had bought or craft most of my stuff ). As they have said previously tranquility is a bit expensive at the time if you have just started mapping and is not a must have before you go on high level map in my opinion. And if your resists are already well balanced, wise oak is a good and cheap option to improve your dps Last edited by Natchoum#2605 on Jan 25, 2021, 12:15:37 PM

Okay that's great to know, I'll get around to anointing my boots soon then. Just ran into the NPC in Maps so I can actually do that now.
Not sure if it'll be better for me to Divine or to buy a maxed Astramentis before Catalysing that, so I'll have to give that a think. Maybe keep an eye out for bargains. This is a more broad question to everyone; How do you go about upgrading your rares? I.e do you focus on getting amazing rings so you don't have to be so picky with the other pieces, or do you try to pick up amazing other pieces so you can focus on Int/ES on the Rings? Upgrading my rares is usually where I get bogged down in a build, especially since when things start to go past the 15-20c range I'm never actually sure if they're worth the cost. |

" re: astramentis it doesnt have to be absolutely perfect tbh, just within 90ish raw should be enough for now anyways. if you're committing to tranquility maybe you have 80c to throw at a perfect one but atm just get something in like the 95-97 range isn't too expensive if you don't like gambling (blessed orbs are also cheap so getting +16 on implicit is easy) https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Ritual/4moVXrMc9 re: wise oak it's honestly worth taking if you can get cold res higher than the others cos you get the penetration. you lose the defensive bonus, but balancing wise oak resists is an absolute pain in the ass. as for upgrades, kinda just feel out where you are and see if you need a midrange upgrade or not. often times it just depends on your playstyle, how much your build scales with gear, how fast you can farm currency, and how fast you want to push higher content. like to one player, 50c can be a huge upgrade, while to another player, 50c is basically nothing. so depending on your own playstyle and preferences, you can decide what to upgrade and when. most of the time i try to move as many resists as I can into non-dps gear slots, though which pieces are "non-dps slots" varies per build. in general, a lot of builds use unique chestpieces (i know this one doesn't LOL), amulets and weapons are huge dps spots, so move res onto the rest of the gear whenever possible. the downside is that because you want int on EVERY piece of gear, it can be difficult to keep your resistances capped (since int is suffix, so we can only have 2x res on each gearpiece). but as long as you do that, you should be fine to just push your int and ES higher. but i mean early on you can just try to push int higher and use purity of elements to cap resistances if needed, or you can bootstrap them on jewels if you don't have enough space on gear (though jewels can only give like 10-15% each res) also remember in trade you can search % total resistances when buying gear sorry that's not really a great answer LOL but i guess the gist is cap res and buy the upgrades you can afford at the pace you want to play, really.
