charms are by far the most busted thing this league, find good mods and abuse abuse abuse

if you are just starting out, warden and the nodes that give you 50% ele res if no slots in helm and 30% ms if no slots in boots are really op for new builds/lvling. very easy to hit requirements and be able to skip major gear checks

once you have a gear base, swap into charms and enjoy the free power (and the warcry opens chests and shakes corpses is fun if a bit underpowered)

From my experience, Primalist is pretty broken for this build. You get culling strike, reflect immunity, chaos resistance, onslaught, fortify - whatever else you might want - its there.

Is there any reason why I shouldnt play leap slam of groundbreaking following this POB? Ive always wanted to do a leap slam build.

I am brand new to POE and stumbled across this guide and started using it for my first character. So far I think i am following ok (Act 4 level 45), however, can you give me a very high level overview of how the actual warcry gameplay works? Put another way - what is the 'default' play style ?

there are 2 main options

1. use call to arms + 1 warcry, put it on left click and let it auto use as you move

this is fine for almost all content in the game

2. piano warcry, using ways to extend warcrys to keep warbringer proccing on all of our exerted hits. you have to keep pressing warcries and maintaining rage, all the while dpsing and dodging etc. a much more active and heavy playstyle

the "rotation" for piano would be, 1st warcry, slam slam slam, 2nd warcry, slam slam slam, 3rd warcry, slam slam slam, 1st warcry repeating

Haven't played melee in forever so maybe I'm bad at the game but I have 4.2k hp, max res, etc. and just feel so squishy doing even t5 maps.

The attack speed is SOOOO slow on the slam that it makes me so vulnerable. Once it slams it is awesome, but I've died so many times in the swing animation

melee phys support and pulv support both have LESS attack speed multipliers, until you have solid +attack speed and rite of ruin trippling it, id reccomend using shockwave/fortify/literally any other support which is slightly less raw dmg but no attack speed penalty
