[3.25] Scourge Arrow Poison Prolif Pathfinder - Fast, tanky, fun to play
Hey thx for the guide, seems to be an interesting build :)
In an earlier version of the guide you stated that one could choose to play Toxic Rain instead of Scourge Arrow as it would make no major difference. Now I can't find that statement anymore and in PoB TR seems to be lacking. Would you still say that TR is viable in this setup? I find the playstyle more enjoyable than SA. |

" Hello. Yeah, Toxic Rain is definitely valid option and you can just use the Toxic Rain setup I have in PoB (its disabled, so just enable it and switch to it on left). And I still also have the mention about TR in main post, under "Navigating through PoB" section: " My builds:

Should i use this bow and craft what in it?
" Np, glad you like it :) I would craft % increased phys on it probably (also, that is pretty nice bow) My builds:

Death, for the quiver so you just want a Penetrating Quiver, or do you want an Elder base to try and get Pen x2?
|
|
You can get level 5 despair on hit on a ring which gets most of the buff needed to get decent damage without grinding the helmet enchant.

" Pen x2 is not necessary, just 1 usually does it. Even though I guess extra pierce would not hurt. But its not worth it the hassle of more difficulty with crafting it imo. My builds:

Big build update:
- Replaced Vaal Haste with Summon Stone Golem - Replaced Frenzy + Curse on Hit setup with Plague Bearer and Increased Area of Effect setup - Added level 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 leveling trees - Replaced end-game Drillneck quiver with quiver with frenzy generation to combat lose of Frenzy setup - Updated leveling section with new gems So, after some mentions of plague bearer in this thread by others, and after I personally gave it a try, I must say that this gem is really really fun and effective, so I decided to replace Frenzy setup with it. Of course this means that single target is affected, so I also replaced Drillneck quiver with end-game frenzy generation quiver that can be crafted with delve fossils. I also left 1 spot in the weapon setup to use for Frenzy self-cast before obtaining that quiver for single target. I also left Despair intact, but it is now self-cast (what is not even bad, at least it is way better than just frenzy curse on hit for blight encounters). While I was leveling this char in Blight, I also decided to track my leveling progression and created low level trees based on that, so guide should now have tree for every 10th level. Hopefully maintaining 10 trees will not be too much of an chore in future. As always, main post contains updated PoB already. Hi author, loving this build so far. Made it my 3.8 starter, damage wise feel good.
However, without the legion gem, what are the defense layers beside evasion, dodge and guard skills? I am level 80 now sitting at 4.8k life, still got one shot by normal Atziri without knowing why sometimes. Is my health pool still too low? I have capped 3 resis with 48% chaos resis. Got all the dodge node already, with 41% evade chance. Thanks
" Hello. Glad you like it. Yeah, currently without Divine Flesh, the remaining defensive layers are evasion/dodge/immortal call. But if you have low HP (4.8k is pretty low), you can try replacing Immortal Call with Steelskin (high level steelskin with high level CWDT, or if you dont have enough strength, lvl 16 steelskin with lvl 11 CWDT). Immortcal Call starts becoming better than steelskin at around 7K hp, before that, Steelskin should be better. But for your character's defense, everything is looking fine. The issue with evasion/dodge builds is that you will get hit eventually, so best thing to do is to make sure you dont die from that hit, what in this case means simply try to get more hp. You can also maybe replace Stone Golem (or if you have empty socket) with Enduring Cry, it helps a lot sometimes. My builds:
