@artradis What build would you recommend if I do not plan to go Darkscorn since I have this bow? Lone Messenger build? Divine Flesh build?
This build is in essence an evasion/dodge build with mitigations for high-valued physical and elemental single-shot "hits":

- Divine Flesh (elemental damage mitigation),
- Darkscorn (+ hard-to-craft Hunter's prefix on chest),

whereas lower-damage "hits" can be swiftly be recovered by a strong leech and life generation (e.g. flasks).

By removing Darkscorn in favour of a somewhat higher damage bow, the cost will be the loss of mitigations against high-valued physical hits. You could make up for this with e.g. a higher life pool or other mitigation mechanics. Finding gear or passive tree skill points for the former (higher HP pool) is likely to cost you the entirety of damage you gained from the bow, however.

Even without Darkscorn I would still recommend Divine Flesh for the elemental damage mitigation, but possibly there are other approaches that could play well with the lack of physical damage mitigation. I haven't looked into Lone Messenger myself: could you expand on how this would be use for defensive mechanisms?

Also, may I ask for the main reason for not using Darkscorn?

A) I want more damage, or
B) Darkscorn is too expensive and I already have this bow.

If the answer is A), I would strongly reconsider as damage is not a problem for this build once you start with end-game upgrades.

If the answer is B), I would just go for Divine Flesh for now and plan a future bow change to Darkscorn, meanwhile accepting being a bit rippier against physical damage one-shots than if you were to use Darkscorn.

As an example, I could arguably place myself in something similar to slot B) atm: my life pool is currently lower than I would like it to be (I would like to hit 6k HP), but I'm living with it for now as I know future upgrades (and levels) will allow it to grow. The cost of this current condition is that I sometimes rip to one-shots.

Thank you for your detailed reply. In my case, option B is the reason. I got lucky and hit the bow with 2 fossils craft. I might sell my bow for a Darkscorn, we'll see.

I'm little confused about gem setup of Lone Messenger version of the build: i get it that we use HoAg and SA 6links, but why do we forsake Blink Arrow for the sake of Blood Rage or Molten Shell - isn't it better to have BA for better mobility?

Bump, somebody uses Lone Messenger version?

For crafting the Chest Piece w/ Life and Reduced mana, I believe it's less expensive to use Lucent, Pristine, and Serrated Fossils to hit the two mods we're looking for. While you do use an additional fossil per craft, the -15 mana mod is both a mana mod and an attack mod, so it doubles our chance to hit that mod with each craft. Was running the different combinations through a calculator, and the 3 fossil crafts hit the right mod combo more often (roughly 280 chaos for the 2 fossil, and 230 chaos for the 3 fossil).
Hey guys !

Just starting out this league and based on your experiences, whats the best special tree so far between Lone Messenger, Divine Flesh, Iron Reflexes and Assassin ? Does it really comes on preferences and playstyle ?

Its a league starter, cheaper the better hehe.

Thanks ! :)
Great guide it's my 2nd league, and relatively new to POE, and this is my 3rd character / build I'm playing. this build is fun, but i don't fully understand the deep parts about this game, and itemization. I a few questions.

1. Does piercing mean anything for us? do the little barbs / needles from the pods pierce targets? or is it just the initial projectile of scourge arrow? Do we do any type of fork or chaining?

2. Does crit damage, crit strike, crit stike multiplier, projectile speed and damage, attack speed etc dps mods mean anything to us? I'm never really sure when either trying to craft, or shop when i see these mods on quivers, rings, amulets, and jewels. be cool if there was a list of these as high mid low and trash in priority.

3. Are there any map mods that I would want to avoid specifically?

Hi everyone. I just made it to 4 watchstones questline and i struggle a bit in t14/15/16 both in terms of survivability and damage . Feels like i do no damage to bosses. if someone can tell me where to focus next or what i have missed . Will wither boost my Single target DPS? thanks to everyone and sorry for my bad english.

What am i missing? I thought of darkscorn but i cant find divine flesh in skill tree and how can i boost my chaos resistance . its - 6 % atm is there a way to double my current chaos resistance? ..

Peace and stay safe people :)

This build's survivability thrives with divine flesh and darkscorn. Before I got those things I was getting surprise one-shots in higher tier maps, just like most bow builds when I start them. He says in the guide you need the Glorious Vanity timeless jewel socketed by the Point Blank notable (you can do it elsewhere but I found this easier on points early) and point blank will turn into Divine Flesh.

To cap chaos resist he recommends Allocating Cleansed Thoughts on your amulet, which doubles your chaos resist, but it has a weird interaction where the first 60% simply negates to 0 and then it starts doubling, so it only saves you ~43% chaos resistance (this might be a tooltip error not sure).

Whether you choose to anoint Cleansed Thoughts or not, you are probably going to have to re gear. It might cost a bit, but your survivability will go through the roof. Seriously I actually feel as tanky as my champion now. The single target damage is a bit iffy but it gets the job done. Just keep leveling gems and use your wither and despair on bosses, I have found the clearspeed to be godlike so it makes up for it. Just remember you need 85% chaos resistance.
Question for you. I tried reviewing your profile to review the build with a bit less reading and a bit more logistics. I don't see this build amongst your delirium toons. Is there one from standard that you feel is a decent blueprint to pursue?
Hi everyone,

I'm having a bit of trouble with this build regarding the single target boss damage. My clear speed is amazing, survivability is good but during bosses I suffer a lot. My wither totem uptime is mediocre, the damage done to bosses is abysmal and due to it I quickly run out of flask charges which in turn leads to me having mana problems which destroys my dps even further. For example Awakening 5 Sirus took me 15 minutes to kill. I simply didn't do any damage. Everything I gain from the hyper clearspeed is lost on map bosses taking minutes to kill.

So I'm approaching this thread in hopes of getting some guidance. I'm obviously doing something wrong with my build but I don't understand what. There must be some tidbit missing from my build that makes it all click together. If it turns out that everything is fine with the build I would then appreciate some general direction where to head with it with upgrades. There are some I can easily point out by myself but I don't know what's the correct order for the maximum effect of increasing dps and single target damage.

Things to improve:
-Awakened chaos damage
-Awakened unbound ailments
-Awakened deadly ailments
-Better glorious vanity to allocate Revitalising Darkness
-Thread of hope maybe? (Would also require revamping my resistances)
-Cluster jewels? (Haven't really read up on them yet)
-Amulet anointment (Dirty techniques?)
-Cinderswallow (Although I still don't completely understand what it synergises well with in this build. Also not dps, only survivability?)

Below is my pob. For some reason it doesn't show the glorious vanity I have used to socket divine flesh.

OK i changes my build around after i tryed out the cluster jewels and there realy op satcking 2x low tolerance juwele will skyrocked your dmage you need to try it. You can take a look at my profile if you want to see how i build my char to still get good enough of life even with 5+ jewels
