I actually get less RF degen from a 10% extra mom shaper chest when compared to the current version of Loreweave. The real strength of Loreweave atm is the negation of the -max map mod, which is a very good feature. It still does not negate the delve penetration mod, sadly.
Going deeper from a mathematical point of view: considering that I am using a +1% max res corrupted Foible, I am already playing at 76% max res. The difference from 76% and 78% is not so big while in the last league the 80% Loreweave was A LOT better than its current nerfed iteration. Now, some comparisons: Going from 76% to 80% max res (old legacy Loreweave) = 16.6% less elemental damage taken Going from 76% to 78% max res (current Loreweave) = 8.3% less elemental damage taken Going from 40% MOM to 50% MOM (perfect rolled shaper chest) = 16.6% less global (physical, chaos or elemental) damage taken Obviously a +2 Loreweave wins the damage competition, but it comes at a large cost in terms of exalts and it offers worse overall survivability than a shaper "extra mom" chest, sadly, and that's even without counting the extra stats a rare chest can offer (life, mana, resists, life regen). Ugh bricked my 6L Cloak of Defiance in my first corruption chamber of the league... but promptly scored a crazy deal on a +2 gems 6L Shadowstitch... not ideal, but not bad. Just wish I had seen it before corrupting, could have sold that cloak... owell.

" Think your calculations there are correct but somehow I dont see the same numbers in my POB. I already have an extra mom eye but that only reduces the degen by 60 compared to Loreweave by 200. This is assuming all flasks / buffs up. I am not doing this with extra 1% max resist though since my foible has extra curse so my base comparison is lower. I’ll recheck the EHP again but I agree a rare chest can be better and much cheaper. |

" No, RF is not a hit and cannot apply on-hit effects. | |
" That's for 2 reasons: the first one is that extra mom becomes stronger when you already have it on both the passive tree and the watcher's eye, the second one is what you already pointed out, i.e. you start your comparison from 75% res and not 76%. If you only have got MoM on the tree (30% mitigation) and you add a 10% watcher's eye, you are going to 40% mitigation. That's like taking 14.2% LESS damage when compared to the 30% baseline MoM. If you already have got MoM + watcher's eye (40% mitigation) and you add another 10% from the chest, you are going to 50% mitigation. That's like taking 16.6% LESS damage when compared to the 30% baseline MoM + 10% Watcher's eye. What loreweave are you testing in PoB? The legacy one or the new one? PoB hasn't still updated the unique items, sadly, so the perfect rolled one has still the 80% max res roll. |
