Not really pointless. Beacon of ruin basically give us almost 15% MORE damage modifier on bosses, cause shock applied always 15% regardless of our storm brand damage. I wouldn't say that 15% MORE damage is "minor effect". Also, i suppose that in chilling conflux it will chill our enemies even without cold damage in our storm brand, cause "all damage cause that ailment", and that chill would be not less than atleast 10%.
Those 2 definitely underwhelming if compared to "liege of primordial" and "elemancer", but lets be real - those 2 are absurdly OP considering how much they do on only "cruel lab" level, that you don't even need anything else.

And of course, it mostly because other than beacon of ruin we don't have anything else to get. "Pendulum of destruction" and "mastermind of discord" is completely useless, cause applying only to us, and not golems. Same with minor nodes, except elemental resistances one.
And "paragon of calamity" relevant only on defence part, but i wouldn't say that it's good either. If i took 1 hit, i wouldn't want to take 2nd, when i can move aside, even if it is 8% weaker. I guess it can be alternative for more defence/less attack, if someone need it.
Playing this build since 3.6,love it.
To monolits sucks,its true,best option is melee splash...im using Magna Eclipsis to test,since golems have enough clean speed without charges and some times they cant get them so...i refunded necro aegis,took an extra mana nod coz i was uncapped(pick other shit if u´re good with mana), and im using this shield,got a ton of life,phys reduction,block chance and the bubble...who can take 1k elemental damage and save me from one shot somewhere.Better for boss´s too,coz the other shield gives % charges on kill,so for bossing is useless i think.
Checked all the unique shields and i think its most cheaper and efective choice.
Btw,nice build,love it,will still play it...golems rule ;)

Hey there love the guide and the build! Just had a question on the storm brand, is that changeable? Or do you use storm brand for a specific reason? Can it be any skill that triggers EE? Thanks in advance.
What about using Precision Aura + Banner + Generosity then switching gloves to Grip of the Council?! 20% extra cold dmg seems nice and that portion of the damage would benefit from the EE.

SB for activating shaper of desolation and beacon of ruin and spreading vulnerabilty.

Just got that shocking ground in legion accounters may be an issue, cause golems die fast here.

I have some currency to burn, working on my chest atm.

But considering buying a enchant helmet and have some questions related to this.

How important is the armour base?
And how important is it to have +3 vs +2 to gem.

An elder 86 item is so much more expensive than a lower item level, so considering to go for elder +2 with enchant vs elder +3 with enchant.

Is it just minmaxing, or will it be noticable with +3 ?

If we are talking about helmet:
- armour base is unimportant, unless you are using molten shell as your guard skill. In that case you would want high armour base.
- +3 vs +2 to minion gems is just to make golems slightly more durable. 1 lvl difference should be around 10% more life or so. Unimportant, they are only support anyway, and you don't need to care about their damage.

I'm sorry, but i don't understand what you mean.
Tornado - i get it that you are talking about cyclone of our ice golems, right?
So yeah, "primordial harmony" stacking will get you to cooldown of about 2 seconds...
But "is there a reason?" is indecipherable for me. Reason for what? Reason for desire of lesser cooldown? Reason for why cooldown become lesser? or something entirely else?

The trouble with the DPS. I'm doing a build poe. But the damage does not rise above 8k. You can see what's done wrong.
