It totaly depends on how many gem sockets you would prefer to be able to utilize.

having the projectile weakness increases your boss dps by huge amounts and especially with the new coupled exposure, and also makes it able to have either +2 attack speed on gloves or +2 aura gems for boosted auras.

Elemental weakness shaper's touch are usually very expensive aswell, and I think the reason i choose attack speed in betrayal was that I could get them with the right colors for 5 c.

Sometimes it's just about making the best geared character for the least currency spent. I am usually always trying to snipe a new way to make it cheaper, but when you include it in the guide they tend to get exposed and things become more expensive eventough it is not necessarily the best option.

to sum up.

Having curse on gloves: less attack speed and damage, but more gem sockets for utility.

having cwdt-curse setup: Much more damage for 0-currency invested and thus freeing up whatever corruption you would prefer on gloves, but your gem choices/flexibility is reduced

Exactly. So you need to have curse on gloves.

I have tried frenzy and found it a bit clumsy to use for the frenzy charges in boss fights.

Usually the frenzy charges last long enough in the uber elder fight, because you get to kill so many adds in the inbetween phases.

But play around with it, and see what you like before making a huge investment. No one forces you to do curses while testing playstyles.

Maybe a dumb question, but what about Dual HoWAs? The shield provides a lot of ES, but wouldn't another claw increase the damage by a lot? (remember doing something like that quite a while ago with an occultist)

you can ofc, if you have enough es/resists without shield

occultist has alot es in ascendancy, for jugg shield gives ~2k es + block chance

occultist can live fine without block as they usually tri curse

i have a question about the boots enchant.
isnt 120% crit chance if you havent crit recently with the crit chance rework better than 16% attack speed or 10% ele pen coz u get like 10+% effective crit chance and get ur EO up immediately even vs single targets?

What do you think is a better watcher's eye, ES gained on hit or ES recovery rate? I'm thinking of swapping out my wrath one because my damage is already really good.

% of mana as extra es, both es on hit and es recovery not really needed
