[3.6] The Blizz Sorc - Icestorm/Winter Orb CI Occultist - Viable For Everything
" " This is indeed your best hope for performance woes - remove Spell Cascade entirely - it is by FAR the worst offender of FPS dropping. Of course, that means you have to come up with something else for a clear staff... I like my 6L WO+GMP+CWC+CD+CP+Hypo for a less visual cancer oriented clear staff, but such things will cost you. ;) Last edited by vector84 on Dec 31, 2018, 3:15:24 PM

IMO, we don't need spell cascade in clearing staff at all. 5l Winter Orb so far cleared everything easily up to t16s with % life mod for me. I have similar setup as mentioned up. But yeah, 5l with correct offcolors will get a little pricy. But it's small price to pay for much smoother framerate and greatly increased clear speed.
Anyway I've bought new staff today, and went for 6 link, got lucky in around 200 fuses, then went for 3b 3g with 1g recipe and I've accidentally gotten this: I wonder if I could somehow use that 4th green. Looking through possible supports atm. " Well, ES on hit discipline is most important, other that are nice to have are clarity mana ES, discipline ES recovery rate, maybe discipline faster start of ES recharge. But they're all gonna be very expensive coupled with ES on hit that is close to essential. Also you could consider 2nd swap watcher's eye with one of reduced reflect damage mods (purity of elements or ice), then swap that and gem, along with sybil lament and yugul pantheon for reflect immunity. " Those are some intensely rare colors... but I'd probably still just Vorici it personally - 2G4B or 4G2B at Vorici(R3) should have like an 80% chance to drop the white socket where you need it. Last edited by vector84 on Dec 31, 2018, 3:21:34 PM

" Yeah, that's probably what I'll do, once I get Vorici in research again.
I have a pretty good PC, normally the game runs at 150-250 FPS so I limit it to 60. This build even turns on my dynamic resolution when I have a ton of ice storms going at once. I tried playing last night when my pc had been on for a few days and it crashed a few times until I finally restarted it. It will deff drag down a lower performance PC.

" Well, in my case, as i said, it was literally anything that slightly have any visual effect at all, so icestorm itself already was quite unbearable. So, offender is still definitely icestorm, it's just spellcascade make it x3 times worse, which is absurd multiplicative value lol |

" What? You are better than jugg. You CAN tank everything with this build!. Dont know how much ES you have. I have 12k and dont remember the last time i die.
" So I've played for a bit, and honestly I don't think I need actual dps gem in 6th link. 5 link WO with Profane Bloom + Herald of Ice already just pop everything similar to inpulsa, I think I'll just go with some utility gem that also increases cast speed so I can stack WO stages faster. Kinda thinking about onslaught supp (20% mvspeed and 25% cast speed) vs cull support (cull + 11% cast speed + some increased dmg) that will also help a bit with bosses, just swap when they're low. Kinda leaning towards cull, because with phase run I'm already so fast, the cart in delve barely keeps up, when I've put in onslaught in, it was regularly way behind me and it was hard to judge which way to go. For now I just need to snatch good damage per int amulet somehow. I've seen some decent but they were a bit lacking in secondary attributes. Wasted like 200 of chaos and around 2k of alts myself too but not much luck there. At least I'm not complaining about currency still, had a lot of luck this league and got many ex sitting around, just waiting to be spent. ^^ Edit: Played some more, honestly both cull and onslaught are great. Onslaught while slightly obsolete in delve is great in maps, that extra mvspeed and cast speed (note we also cast flame dash faster) makes everything much smoother. I've considered just getting onslaught on abyss jewel, but it's probably not worth it, that'd be a loss of dps mod on regular staff. Last edited by Lirhtim on Jan 1, 2019, 12:30:46 AM

How does this version compare to the Scion version? I'm wanting to try WI for the first time but seeing as you have two seperate builds I want to go with the absolutely TANKIEST version of it. Syndicate in t16 are no joke, and i'm looking for a build that just laughs them off.

Occultist version is waaay more tanky, at a price of some damage. But as some people said, you can pretty much facetank uber with enough investment.
