[3.6] The Blizz Sorc - Icestorm/Winter Orb CI Occultist - Viable For Everything
I've gone double defensive curse due to Legion - the extra DPS only kicks in for 2nd phase, and everything outside Legion dies in two icicles anyway.
I've gone mixed flask rather than fully defensive, mostly because I don't need flask suffixes other than Warding. It felt inefficient to not take Atziri's Promise/Wise Oak/Sorrow of the Divine. I guess all are mildly defensive too, particularly when I reach endgame gear and can (hopefully) balance resists. I think extra damage during Legion fight will help: rares take a while to kill, and do a ton of damage meanwhile. My duration is obviously not enough to get the pre-cast through to the 2nd phase of Legion fights, but it's enough to kill rares. I don't think we need Exceptional Performance as well as Potency of Will, and I should spec out of it into more DPS until I can get a jewel socket with those points instead. I've got lots of gem & int DPS gains still to come which obviously helps too. Vigilant Strike + Faster Attacks have the benefit of being Phase Run + Increased Duration colours. I'm NOT Vigilant Striking at the start of Legion fights as it feels slow, but I'll try that for a while before I switch. I suspect Phase Run is better though, because it means we can reach more icon mobs in the first phase. 112 dex is level 8, so 43% increased movespeed while we search. Currently saving for a Clarity 2nd mod Eye which ought to help a lot with Legion defences. It seems much more important than Emperor's Mastery this server. Last time I played was Delve, but Eyes were 80ex then, so it wasn't a choice which to get first. Anything else I've missed that we can adjust? I doubt cyclone is going to help - no mitigation from standing still and lower DPS during the fight. If any cyclone players have reached T16 I'd be interested in a video though. " I'm still sticking with Cyclone at the T15-T16 level, and pretty much die only to Legion mobs. Note I'm only 87 so haven't come close to maxing out stuff. I use my Quicksilver flasks more or less continuously for the extra movement speed. This has been the most interesting league for me since I started, and it's because Kelvynn has been absent! That forced me to finally think for myself and explore the passives tree. ------------------------- I should have said T14-T15 level. T16 Vaal Temple cleaned my clock (I didn't remember the fight), and I only got one chance when the instance disconnected 8P. I switched to phase run + increased duration and in the first 30 seconds of my map I portalled out and bought two 20% qual gems instead. We can easily swap back to vigilant strike + faster attacks for shaper & uber, but it makes us so much faster. 156% move speed, yes please.

" I will try the phase run combo for normal mapping also when i get home, my helm is perfect coloured for this combo 4L RWWW with currently keeping CWDT-Blood Rage(lv1)-Vigilant Strike-Summon Chaos Golem Will switch to 2L RW for CWDT-Blood Rage(1) and 2L WW for Phase Run-Increased Duration This way i have to drop Vigilant Strike and Chaos Golem but i keep Blood Rage because with 3x Frenzy Charges, Phase Run (20/20) can go up to 9.34 seconds duration. Will test it to see if the clearing of maps and legion encounters is improved but for Uber Elder (especially now when Shaper is overtuned) Vigilant Strike is a must. |

" There's nothing actually wrong with 9.34s, but at 8/20q, 19/20q, I'm on 3.92s with 4s cooldown anyway, so it's basically constant. |

How does the 5% chance to gain power, frenzy, endurance work on this item? You get one of the three at random? Or does it depend on your ascendancy?
Equipping this gives me ~10% more damage at the cost of ~6% of my ES, by the way. I'm still trying to figure out how to keep moving fast without spamming quicksilver flasks. The phase run idea looks interesting. | |
Phase run is nice in delves too.

" Out of interest, those who are wearing amulets of this sort (the +1% damage per 15 INT)... where are you getting your other stats? Without Astramentis, half my gems become unusable, and we're trying to convert stats on the tree into INT. Are you just getting as much STR and DEX from the amulet as you can? |
