[3.6] The Blizz Sorc - Icestorm/Winter Orb CI Occultist - Viable For Everything
" Weird, even if I do a reinstall I get different numbers to those. |

hm its just my low lvl+dps it feels so uncomfortable use WO to clear legion obelisks? hm or icestorm just worse than others builds?

I'm into higher Red maps. T14's and T15's and so far no issues whatsoever. Cyclone mobility is a huge boon for survive-ability.
One thing though, spell cascade is a serious lagfest. Lol. Not sure if it's a cyclone thing or not but I get really bad FPS drops when I do legion encounters while using SC. haha " Have you tried Cyclone CWC? You can get some serious Storm spread for the legion stuff. Just make sure you have decent movespeed. EDIT: I need to work on how to approach Minotaur, but here's my first go at him. Died twice to stupid things, but here's how the CWC Cyclone performs at T16: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gWLWgKasMU&feature=youtu.be Also I may try to squeeze in Purity of Ice into my Aura setup: Last edited by Gryphenprey on Jun 14, 2019, 3:59:46 PM

" Most the problems I get are on interactions with other ground effects - e.g. reef boss is just 2fps all the way through. Perhaps the best way to do legion is to NOT pre-fire, but instead to just zoom around, look for chests/icon-mobs, and single target those? |
|
" I pretty much just zoom around looking. Cyclone is nice in that I'm cleaning up most of the mobs as I look for the better stuff. |

So I also decided to jump on the Cyclone bandwagon and I gotta say... wow, this is actually kinds cool. The Vortex/Arcane Surge someone noted above is a huge QOL, never have to stop to keep up Arcane Surge. Champion for usually having Fortify (it's not permanent but then it wasn't with Vigilant Strike either).
That said, I agree with Lil that WO and some sort of freeze immunity is going to be needed for Shaper etc. With Cyclone, AA is indeed mostly useless. But there's not much else to reserve mana for, so I decided, hey, how about Flesh and Stone? In Sand Stance everything nearby is blinded and less damage from faraway mobs. I think it's been important for survivability. Still early days, so I'm only at 1150 Int, 3400 ES, 4300 IS damage, but I've only just started maps. Also a bunch of Life gear left over form leveling. Occ/Champion. My links are still shifting but I've gone: Cyclone--CWC--Energy Leech--Inc AOE * Spell Cascade (working on coloring a 6S/4L) Vortex--Bonechill--Arcane Surge--Increased Duration (probably will change this?) CWDT (1)--Ball Lightning--COH--Frostbite--Enfeeble * Discipline CWDT (leveled)--Frost Bomb--Chaos Golem--Blood Rage Flame Dash--Faster Casting * Herald of Ice--Flesh and Stone | |
" Flesh and Stone is pretty cool. I'm using Hatred+Disicpline+HOI and I added Purity of Ice because of the Watcher's Eye I recently acquired for Freeze Immune. I will get chill immunity on boots. Vortex+BoneChill+Arcane Surge+Hypothermia is what I use. Hypo gives increased effect of chill which is a damage boost to enemies affected by it. Why nobody uses hatred though? It gives 19% more cold damage and gives watcher's eye options in Added Cold and 15% Cold Pen. Also not hard to fit hatred+Disc+HOI. I did it with a Helm Enchant, 1 4% Reserve node and a level 2 Enlighten. |

Since GMP is useless for Cyclone CWC I have two different ideas for a Trash Clearing Staff:
Cyclone//CWC//ColdPen//Spell Cascade//Controlled Destruction//Hypothermia OR Cyclone//CWC//ColdPen//Spell Cascade//Controlled Destruction//Increased AOE Support Cant Decide Which. |
|
" I use this for everything. Spell Cascade is GREAT for trash clear (swap for Energy leech) but it literally rips my PC a new one with the legion stuff. Also I find it to be unneeded sometimes. |
|
" I'd have to be much farther into the game and wealthier to get that setup! But it might be worth it? Though the Flesh and Stone frees the slot we'd normally use for Blind on the COH... |
