[3.6] The Blizz Sorc - Icestorm/Winter Orb CI Occultist - Viable For Everything

For those who didn't decide yet i leave here the Path of Building simulations using Kelvynn's gear from Synthetis league (regular end game gear with no bling bling)

First is the level 100 Occultist using the old 3.6 tree:

Second is the level 100 Ascendant(Inquisitor/Occultist) using the new 3.7 tree:

Both are similar in stats(almost same ES(a bit lower for 2nd variant), way higher Intelligence for 2nd variant, higher average Shaper hit for 2nd variant
so going Ascendant(Inquisitor/Occultist) seems a good choice now.

The clear speed will be lower for Ascendant though since Winter Orb was nerfed and also I traded many cold damage nodes(that bump WO damage) to Intelligence nodes to get more ES from Intelligence.

For those who still want to play Occultist variant i adapted the tree with Kelvynn's gear for a level 100 character:

Looking at the numbers, this variant is a bit worse than the Ascendant (Inquistor/Occultist) one.

100% Chill and Freeze immunity + Profane Bloom (additional explosions) and a higher chance of freezing mobs are the only advantages of this variant over the Ascendant one but almost all the stats numbers are lower compared with the Ascendant one.

I think I'm going to go with this instead - also occultist/inquisitor, but going full out int and getting lots of jewel sockets under the theory that some of the Legion jewels must be good for us. Even if they aren't, it's >3100 int, which is enough for the memes at the very least. Too lazy to update to Kelvyn's more reasonable gear.

Your path is almost good but keep in mind that if we want to benefit from Herald of ice explosions we need to take Breath of Rime cluster (15% chance of freeze) instead of Heart of Ice since we don't have Frigid Wake ascendancy as Ascendant :)

You can check here all the keystones corrupted by those jewels but close to none seem interesting at least at first sight except maybe this one "Pressure Points"

Always deal Critical Strikes
You have no Critical Strike Multiplier
50% less Cooldown Recovery Speed

Maybe Resolute Technique keystone gets corrupted by a legion jewel into above Keystone?
Then my approach of pathing left and down to Utmost Might could be more useful?
I am not sure what skills are affected by the downside of it "50% less Cooldown Recovery Speed" though, CWDT, Frost Bomb, Flame Dash, Vigilant Strike?

We can always inflict chill and freeze this way i think because we always crit with cold damage

Flame dash having slower cycling could be a problem with that jewel, though I think we're able to fit faster casting in this league, which offsets it (until clarity if we're lucky with the Eye):
