[3.6] The Blizz Sorc - Icestorm/Winter Orb CI Occultist - Viable For Everything

Wow, just 6 linked this after rage-clicking 100 fusings onto it, then tried to get the former 4L for my CoH-setup, and then this.

Backstory, so after i almost exploded IRL after wasting 400 fus on my whispering ice for 5L -- ( i know there is the table but i never used it for 5L and after reaching 200 trys by hand i wanted to see how deep the rabit hole goes, answer is 390+) -- and wasted another 200fus on my daressos defiance 5Link for my gladiator build, i was left with 150 fusings that i dont need anymore.

And i was to angry to trade them back into chaos cause trading becomes more and more annoying every league, that i decided to rage-click them away on my ES chest i bought for an ex.

Turned out, chris wilson just wanted to test my faith into him so i let my anger flow throw my hands, over my mouse into the games server and forcing this event through my unbearable rage.

All Hail Chris Wilson.

The reason for this post however is, that i dont know what to do now.

Should i sell it for profit, buy a better ES chest? Since i dont really need 6L on this build cause of the staff.

Or should i stash it for another build, if yes, which CI build should i run with a 6L in the current meta? winter-orb something?

Or should i sell it, buy a similar chest for my 4L curse setup, and keep the profit for later?

I mean its not a shaper base, just good ES, high int and already 6L.

any advice would be great :)

My new chest armor. I bought the base with a few good mods but then had to invest another 3 EX into it counting the multimod and prophecies to unlock it. Took 9 damn Divines to hit the 12% as Rngesus was being a jerk today.

I hope to replace it with something with higher ES eventually...but it'll do for now. Huge boost to my INT which is awesome.

And a big thank you to lilianmarius for the 6% craft! :)
Hi, I'm at the point where upgrades cost multiple exalts, so I was wondering if someone can look at my character and see what I should upgrade first. I have about 5-6 ex. I'm level 92 with 9.8 ES and 1500 int. Starting tier 14 and 15 maps now, haven't had major issues so far. Thank you!

You have 2 options in my opinion:

1.Replace hybrid suffix Dex/quality with 6% increased attributes and use it as it is.

2. Sell it, buy a Shaper ilvl83 Vaal Regalia and try to craft Tier 1 + maximum ES/% increased ES + Tier 1 % increased intelligence then multimod and add suffix 6% increased attributes and another prefix (+ maximum ES/%increased ES/hybrid ES).You should aim for a final 550+ ES value for the chest piece.

If you are lucky, crafting session for the chest piece can cost you an equivalent of 4-6 exalts. But if you are not lucky.....the cost can be quite high.

Now you should think if you will sell your current one, how much you will get on it to be able to fund the crafting for the 2nd variant.

Depending on your Intelligence current value, +53 Intelligence can be equivalent with 4-5% increased intelligence.

In my opinion first option should be taken in consideration - replace hybrid with 6% increased attributes and use it as it is (53 flat Int + 6% increased attributes is good DPS boost and ES multiplier). But the decision is yours...

I hear you, but the thing is: what should i do with a 6L chest on this build ?

-add blind + get +1 to curses from somewhere and add frostbite ?

-add culling strike + item rarity ?

Thx for the 6% attributes tip anyway, i totally forgot about that..derp

Yes, add Blind in 5th slot and if you go for dual curse add in 6th slot Frostbite as second curse.
If you don't want to go for dual curse you can add in 6th slot Herald of Ice for better curse proliferation.

Myself, i am not planning on going dual curse because i have to respec some points and my current skill tree setup does not allowed it without loosing a lot of Intelligence, don't have yet a 6-link chest and the third motive is because i am using Vaal RightouseFire which i have to drop if i want to socket 2nd curse (no other free sockets available when clearing maps, even one less when fighting hard bosses like Uber Elder for example (using a purity gem + Enlighten lv3 instead of HoI)
Noob question incoming as this is my 1st CI character Ive done. I am not there yet but when I hi 69-70 , and after respeccing, I basically switch my gear over to Int, ES, And resistances (plus whatever mods) and no need to worry about Max Life or anything else? Is that the jist of it or am I missing something major ? Thanks!!

Hi. I do not know if anyone is interested, but I will tell my experience trying to carry out the build. I've been playing PoE for many years now and i always created melee / tank characters and I thought it was a good idea to change the gameplay for the first time. However, this will be the last time I create a caster character. I've never had so many problems of survival even with experimental builds that I've done before (I knew I would not have the same survival as a warrior character, but I never expected such a difference ...). Each boss and map was a headache. In some cases, even white monsters can hurt a lot. On the other hand, I burned a lot of currency trying to create the necessary items with very poor results. This is not a cheap build. I am very sorry to create this character.

When you see a lot of people saying that they are having a super easy time playing the build, you see a bunch of videos showing exactly how it looks, with exact PoB data linked under them, and then you try it and it doesn't work at all - it means that either everybody is lying and the author is faking all those videos, or you are doing something very wrong.

The most typical mistakes are:
- not maxing resists
- using items that have little or no Int
- not using the recommended skill gems and links
- not using the recommended skill tree
- changing or adding skill gems because you think you know better
- changing the tree because you think you know better

I recently had somebody message me that 'this build sucks' and 'can't clear' etc. Then I looked at his character only to see that he decided to put GMP Ice Spear into the staff. For clear speed. Sure thing, his Ice Spear build sucks. But what does it have to do with this build?

But whatever. I don't think I can make the guide more detailed than it already is. Every step in the process, every detail is already laid out, and all one needs to do is follow the guide.

Sorry for posting this on both whispering ice threads, this one is more active.

First I would like to thank Kelvynn again for this build (already did that via PM), and for the patience shown when answering questions here in the forums and via PM.

Second I would like to ask if anyone could help me with tips about crafting an item related to this build (or any int-stacking ES build).

First a little context: I got a iLVL 86 shaper regalia and was trying to get an upgrade for my current chest, messing arround, I decided to use a dense fossil and suddenly, THIS:

It's triple T1 ES prefixes.

I'm thinking about removing ES on kill (via locking prefixes+scour) then multi mod for (int+quality)+(Increased Attributes).

There is also another option, I can sell this crafting base and buy myself something... but cheapest chest upgrade I could find was 12ex and I only have half of that.

That's a great regalia for a lot of ES meta builds. But not for this one. No INT. You can't craft 12% inc Int.

I would sell this.

Yes. At lv 69 you can wear the top ES bases, that's why it's the optimal level to switch. You respec all life (plus spell damage nodes taken early) into the ES and Int stuff, like the Leveling Guide says. From there on, all you care about is Int and ES, and just keep your resists maxed. Int is the foundation of this build.
