if you have a nice shield, then yes. But dual wield bonus is pretty big

10% more Attack Speed while Dual Wielding
15% additional Block Chance while Dual Wielding
20% more Attack Physical Damage while Dual Wielding

Pretty much no shield (except potentially lycoside) will beat these bonuses in terms of DPS. Shield will be more defensive tho.

also, the dual wield crit nodes are nice if ur going crit.

Now Deadeye didn't get any buff, nor nerf. While champion revealed to be more Impale oriented than any other class. And both are good,

Pathfinder poison is still an option as I see, and I'll probably use as league starter. I've improved my Tree to something like 600k dps (using spectral throw as model still), that might get higher or lower, but shouldn't turn out that bad.

I'll probably open up a new thread dedicated to the Pathfinder build, and I'll keep a close eye on the Deadeye version, both are interesting, and both have great potential for optimization later on!

cool. Just be aware that brutality will prevent your phys damage from poisoning. I didnt know.
I was planning a similar build to this one and was thinking about pieces of gear I could use early-ish league to cheese out some damage. For the deadeye variant where you take the +1 chain, do you think if you also ran chain in the link with Lancing Steel that possibly Gloomfang might be worth it? Just tryna feel out what others attempting this style of build think.

gloomfang requires lv77, so its not useful for leveling.

and bosses wont get hit by the chain, so you wont have the max dps when u need it

also, chaos damage from gloomfang prevents you from going pure phys and using brutality support

overall, i think its bad.
How will the lancing steel cast on crit ice spear build work exactly?

You use lancing steel as main attack skill and want very high crit chance on this ability. Than you have a 6 link with cast on crit and ice spear etc, everytime you crit the support gem procs with an internal cd of 0.15s?

If ice spear crits will it be cast again?

Also will lancing steel still do damage or is it just purely used to get as many crits to proc the support gem? Can multiple projectiles crit?

Sorry for all these questions i'm trying to learn :P

every time lancing hits an enemy with a crit, it'll cast ice spear. But there is a cooldown of .15 sec. With 1 use of lancing, it's possible to cast multiple ice spear casts.

lancing will have like 13 projectiles, ice spear will have like 9 projectiles.

Lancing will do some damage because i'll be getting a lot of crit, crit multi, and projectile damage. But ice spear will do more damage. Lancing is nice because it has a long range, plus the projectiles shoot out with some delays. The delay works nicely because of the .15sec cool down.

Overall, if it works well, i'll have about 100 projectiles shooting out per second lol.

It's pure poison this time, though it will need some leveling before it gets to its potential. You can say I just ignored Impale altogether for end game build.
