What stones to put in the ring, elemental army, animated guardian and what two to insert last? To the hungry.

PoB for Triad has it. To put it simply, we mainly just want to make him tanky so we don't lose the expensive Kingmaker. The four supports for an AG Hungry Loop are:

1. Meat Shield
2. Minion Life
3. Fortify/Empower
4. Melee Splash/Empower/Fortify/Elemental Army

Melee Splash = If you want to allow the AG to spread a glove corruption curse and/or Exposure debuff more effectively.

Empower = +2 levels = ~21% more life. By comparison, Fortify is effectively 25% more life (= 1 / 0.8), but only against Hits (not degens) and must be activated/maintained. So Empower is slightly weaker but more consistent than Fortify. Its biggest downside, however, is the sheer XP needed for it to reach L3 and be absorbed by the Hungry Loop.

Elemental Army = 2% max resistances (= ~9% reduced elemental damage taken) and -10% Cold Exposure debuff. This is good, but if you're using Cold Triad Grip I'd recommend using the support on your Spectres instead, so the debuff contributes better during clear. Up to you, though, if you'd rather use a different support for Spectres, then the AG can provide Cold Exposure at the cost of a weaker defensive support.

Here's what I'm running now and corrupted T16's feel like T4's. This build is nasty as hell. 6.5k life and 3.2 es without spirit offering, feels pretty tanky.

Edit: One thing I'm messing around with is deciding whether Feeding Frenzy on Spectres might be better than Phantasms. Reason being, I don't really feel like Phantasms do much DPS for one, but more importantly when I'm fighting a super rippy metamorph boss and I'm having to run in circles to dodge constantly, my Spectres are not engaging the boss. When I put in FF, they are after that boss with the fury of a thousand suns regardless of what I'm doing. Those T16 metamorph bosses are really the only thing so far that can give me any trouble at all (outside of Sirus of course).

Curious on your thoughts, Hercanic.

Feeding Frenzy on Spectres

I've got video I recorded of the difference with and without Feeding Frenzy on Goatman Fire-raisers. I happened to encounter an immortal Bloodlines Animated Guardian in Delve and could leisurely try out various engagement distances. The video needs some editing, so it's been low on the priority for upload. Here are some screenshots from it that demonstrate the difference:

The Fire-raisers stop engaging when I remove Feeding Frenzy. The enemy is outside of their passive detection range now.

Minions can see within a small radius around you and a larger radius around your mouse pointer when you use a skill. Pay attention to how there is initially no reaction when I start using Cyclone. Even though my Ball Lightnings have struck the enemy, it doesn't matter. Where my mouse is targeting (my feet, so I don't spin forward) is too far away from the enemy. As I move my pointer just a little bit closer in the next picture, the Fire-raisers finally react and first use their Molten Shell ability. In the final picture, I've moved my mouse back a bit but the Spectres are able to continue engaging.

might be better than Phantasms

The DPS of our Spectres is tiny compared to Skeletons and Vaal Skeletons. If they aren't attacking the Metamorph, you're only losing ~10% DPS (~1M DPS vs. ~10-15M).

While clearing, Spectres react fine, especially the long-ranged Frost Sentinels. Phantasms are Aggressive by default, so they do whatever our 'unaggressive' Spectres cannot.

Individually, Phantasms are unimpressive, but we get 10-11 of them. They naturally pierce, and can spawn in the middle of a pack, a position that gives them a better vantage point to target around corners, like a pseudo-Chain with AOE (piercing GMP). These unique properties are well-suited to clearing trash, weak monsters who are numerous and scattered about.

In my various testing, I've found Phantasms are definitely worthwhile. If I try to run straight through a map using just Goatman Fire-raisers, for example (my Children_of_the_Mind character), they leave behind clumps of enemies. If I do the same with Phantasms and Frost Sentinels (my Hegemon_of_the_Dead character), running even faster due to Phase Run, those clumps don't exist.

The matter of Phantasms comes up a lot. From my response @ woefulwabbit (from 3.8, before we lost a Spectre in 3.9):

You have mentioned that with Soul Eater, it is better not to use Summon Phantasms. However you are still using Summon Phantasms yourself

Since Phantasms deal physical damage, Cold Triad boosts their damage even further relative to Spectres. They deal about 90k each (vs. Shaper). Frost Sentinels deal about 127k each in first stage and 190k in second stage of Ice Spear. So 2 Phantasms = 1 Frost Sentinel.

Spell Echo would be 55% more DPS for Frost Sentinels. This would put them at 296k (3.3 Phantasms = 1 Frost Sentinel). But they wouldn't have Pierce like Phantasms, or Chain to hit around corners, which is similar to how Phantasms function when they spawn in the middle of a pack through a doorway.

90k x11 = 990k
190k x4 = 760k
Total = 1,750k

296k x4 = 1,184k but no pierce/chain.

This means Phantasms give me 48% more damage along with piercing and psuedo-chaining. They are also more reliable as I run ahead and minions spawn on me like a centipede. More minions = smoother spread (number of steps before something pops in to engage the closest monsters).

With enough souls, Soul Eater will overcome the 48% damage difference (~100% cast speed each, so 20 souls x4 Spectres = 80 absorbed kills). but it's less consistent and can't overcome terrain obstructions. If instead of Spell Echo we used Pierce or Chain, we'd have an even bigger damage deficit to overcome with Soul Eater.

92% more vs. Pierce = ~184% cast speed needed = 37 souls each = 147 kills
156% more vs. Chain = ~312% cast speed needed = 62 souls each = 250 kills

Trash monsters do not have the health of bosses. Our clear skill does not need anywhere near as much damage as our single-target skill. People tend to become enamored by bigger numbers, but lose sight of what's important for our trash-clearing skill: area coverage & speed > pure damage.

Start up a fresh PoB. Add Raise Spectre. Set its level to whatever monster level of maps you're concerned with. Let's say L23, for level 83 Spectres (T16 maps). Now add some of the types of monsters you're likely to encounter. How about a Fighting Bull, who has a 238% life multiplier, and a Fetid Maw, who has a 100% life multiplier. Go to Calcs, check "Show Minion Stats", and look to the right for the box labeled "Life:".

Fighting Bull: 36,054 life
Fetid Maw: 15,149 life

So what if we raise our Spectres from 100k to 150k DPS? Either way they are annihilating these trash monsters in the first volley. Even if it took one or two fewer casts to kill, if that comes at the cost of coverage or hit delay, then any gains are lost by them over-casting (because target hasn't been hit by the first volley yet) or having to turn and cast at the remaining mobs they missed due to less coverage.

For tougher rares, we have our Zombies. The sooner we clear the obstructing trash, the sooner our Zombies can target and surround the rare.

Magic = 187% more life, +75% from levels 68-84
Rare = 463% more life, +100% from levels 68-84

Assuming the two life modifiers are multiplicative with each other rather than additive, then a Rare Fighting Bull would have (36054 * 5.63 * 2 =) 405,968 life.

Spectres/Phantasms = Trash clear = White mobs = Numerous and scattered
Zombies = Support DPS = Blue/Yellow mobs = One or two per ~screen
Skeletons = Boss DPS = Orange mobs = Uncommon but dangerous, kill ASAP

Not that difficult, corrupted Empower gem and +1 spectre boots. I couldn't get BBBBGG on my chest so I went with BBBBGR after too many chromatics.

It's giving up a lot or making it very expensive just to get the 4th spectre back which isn't a huge deal anyway.

For coloring sockets, you can use the crafting bench. There's an option to craft 2 green sockets for 25 chromatics.

That's still not going to give you the 4 blues needed on Belly of the Beast since it's an armor base chest. It's only a very small chance to get 4 blues 2 greens.
is there any 3.9 video? i only see 3.4 video....

Your gear is better than mine.I am not sure we can get more DPS ? End game bosses are tanks now.

Replacing Fortify with Feeding Frenzy in your Skelly links will give you more DPS, but we are pretty much topped out in the damage department. I played this build last league and it pretty much insta-deleted T16 bosses, but bosses are wayyyyyy tankier now with their HP/armor buffs, as well as the buff they get from Awakener bonus. This is just the way the game is now, all builds are slower when it comes to bosses.
Feel free to use any of the videos I post & speaking of videos here's a couple of guardian maps & shaper as well. I was going a little slower than normal because I didn't want an embarrassing death. I run the metamorph encounters with the toughest options too. I did reroll the maps a few times to avoid nasty mods.

Pit of the Chimera

Lair of the Hydra

Shaper Apparently his HP got buffed from 20 million to 68 million, so it's now about 1 old Shaper per phase. Again, another death that shouldn't have happened, but I'm tired & I was watching the balls in the top right.

Atziri + Uber Atziri

I ran normal Atziri earlier on in the league when I had garbage gear. But here's a normal Atziri run with my current gear
https://streamable.com/y3azs
I haven't done an Uber Atziri in a long time so here's one to compare against a regular Atziri with the same items
https://streamable.com/mzwch

My Gear used in these videos

Leo slammed my old chest for Tier 2 cold res and thought I might be lucky enough that I'd get a good double corrupt in the temple. Instead it got deleted so I'm using a 5 link while I decide if this will be my final chest or if I want to try craft a better one.
I now have the Tier 3 craft for % Maximum Life gained as extra Maximum Energy Shield which is giving me an extra 907 energy shield. By far the best chest craft for this build.

Animate Guardian Hungry Loop is almost up and running to replace my left ring slot. Still deciding on the gloves to use with it. I really want to try the new intimidate on hit gloves with a curse on hit but they're 30+c just for the base then I'd need to roll the mod and hit the curse corrupt.

Compared to last league, you can definitely notice the buffs to monsters at higher tiers. I met my match with a Metamorph in a Courthouse map that had twinned boss so I think I had 3 or 4 unique organs in it which 1 shot me & killed all my minions, even the frost sentinels. It took a good couple of minutes for my minions to finish him off.
The loss of minion speed is noticeable while mapping but usually not a big deal. I don't even have an Unending Hunger at the moment & similar gear to what I'm using shouldn't take more than 5 or 6ex (with the 5 link) Faster Projectiles is nice for clear and you can tell if you take it out, but if you don't mind going slower then a 5 link is more than good enough.

I still haven't beat The Awakener, I died to the storms on my first attempt but got him quite low & he bugged out on me during my second attempt. From those fights I can already tell he'll be a piece of cake when the bugs are fixed and I've learnt the fight better. His damage is quite low so you can take a couple of hits & the skeletons melt him fairly quickly. Uber Elder will still be the toughest boss IMO.

The build is still fantastic in 3.9 & will do all the content the game has to offer (Haven't tried a 5 way timeless conflict with it before) on a pretty good budget.

AH ye could switch to feeding Frenzy also you are right bosses dont melt like you use to guess is to make us play mechanics a bit more than melt them, apart from that its a great build. ( i also noticed i have not done my last two Ascendancy Points because i been doing maps non stop ) Opps.
i have played this in 3.8 and was awesome , i am hesitating to try again this league due boss fights and how minions cant survive, specially for awakner fight and metamorph bosses,it will be hard to re summon spectres and zombies and will be stuck with skeletons most of fight.

anyone can give certain feedback on it performs this league and if it needs certain things different than last league and it can do the same quick boss killing or not?

Thanks
Hi guys!

This league I started an arc witch but felt a lot weaker than this build in blight, so a moved to this build again, and despite the zombie and other nerfs still feels pretty strong, although just started mapping.

Started to use convocation because the minion movement speed loss, and it works (but it takes one more socket which is a pain)

Spectres: In Act 3 (in Lunaris Temple lvl1 and 2) I found two creature:

1. https://poedb.tw/us/mon.php?n=Mortality+Experimenter Mortality Experimenter - casting temporal chains. Its movement speed is so slow, but using convocation the results is pretty damn good!

2. We cant use Frost sentinels until Act8 (or if we are extremely lucky with a strongbox or this new metamorph creature spawning them earlier) so tried the Tentacle Miscreation https://poedb.tw/us/mon.php?n=Tentacle+miscreation

Guys have to say that the clear speed is almost better or equal with Frost Sentinels.

At low level I can absolutely recommend using them (linked with GMP of course) for pretty good clear speed!

My equipment:

Still need to farm a lot to be able to upgrade them to better ones but my opinion is that in Blight it was easier and faster than this league. Planned to replace the helmet with an elder one, to anoint an amulet with enduring bond, a boots with fortify, a hungry loop unset ring for AG, equipment for AG and so on.... but dont have currency... YET :D

Flasks:

The flasks are pretty the same than in Blight league so it seems they are the final ones, but need to improve quality on Rumi's.

Don't remember who was exactly - in this thread - who gave the idea using Enduring Eternal Mana Flask of Warding but its pretty good, so Thank You so much my friend!

Best wishes to every1!
