Hey folks,

For anyone looking for something different...

I created a new build guide for 3.9 with a hungry loop variant on this build.
(17M shaper DPS in 3.9)

Check it out here:

Thoughts are always welcome, I played it 3.8 and could manage any content with ease.

That's the beauty of this build..it is flexible enough to make some changes of your own.

Perhaps a link to this original thread would be an appropriate thing to do?

Link added ;)

I'v been tweaking it for several leagues now to my liking. Since Hercanic is going a whole other way I thought some people might like this variant with a basic guide.

Hercanic wrote:

Yeah, I actually made a second mace near the end of the league. But I don't really care that much about my gear in standard since I can just buy it again if I need it.

Hercanic wrote:

Eye of Malice helm has a lot of potential with Cold Triad Grip. It increases resistances of nearby enemies, which includes negative resists. -50% EE, -10% Cold Exposure, -29% L5 Frostbite on Hit, -24% L5 Ele Weakness on Hit = -113% * 1.5 = -170% Cold Resistance.

Arakaali's Fang is ~twice as powerful as Zombies in an Influenced 1H weapon, so that's always an option if you don't mind dealing with worm flasks.

I hadn't seen that helm yet, definitely a cool one. I assume at some point you'll compare the damage of this vs a rare with minion damage and + levels? I'd be interested to see that at some point.
Have you read anywhere about the exposure of the helm? Elemental Army is -10% but the other 3 gem sources are -25%.

I assume Arakali's Fang loses a lot of power with Triad Grip so it wouldn't be using while I have them on?

Here's a bonus question. One of the new bosses has a disgusting chaos DoT that one shots me if it touches me. This is at 37% chaos res with a flask. I'm only at 4.3k life but I think even with an extra thousand or something it will still kill me with how quickly it drops. Outside of anointing Cleansed Thoughts, do you have any other ways of reducing the incoming chaos damage?
For anyone looking for a cheap weapon to use while you focus on your other gear, incursion weapons are super common right now and you can get Citaqualotl's Sceptres for 1-2c. Search for One-handed melee weapons with Minions deal 70% increased damage and also 1 empty suffix since that will let you craft on minion attack & cast speed.

Anyone using Triad Grip with 4 green sockets may be interested to know that rings dropping from The Redeemer can drop with % Increased Minion Damage as well as curse enemies with Frostbite on hit
Minion Damage is a Prefix while Frostbite is a suffix so it would be possible to alt spam and then multimod to get this combo reliably.
There's a huge pool of new mods and I haven't really looked at them so if there's any others that would be strong with this build I'd love to know about them.

I can also craft "Gain (7-8%) of maximum life as extra maximum energy shield" on chest armors as a prefix so if anyone needs this done, send me a whisper in game @IWasStrongerInBlight the craft costs 2 alch and then 2 alch and 1 scour if you want it recrafted. It's only the middle tier craft as I still need to get more body armors from Gravicious to unlock 9-10%

Just on the end of this post as well, I did another upgrade on my gear to get into a good position for when I add a hungry loop with animate guardian. I haven't really looked into Catalysts yet, but I had a couple of "Intrinsic Catalyst" in my stash. These enhance any attribute modifiers on jewelry which makes it much easier to gain the dexterity we need from only 1 item.
Spoiler

Just had my first attempt at the Awakener (Wasn't expecting it to be at level 84, I thought it would be lower level like Red Elder or something) and he kicked my ass. I did at most 2/3 of his hp before I ran out of portals I did forget to resummon my zombies after a couple of the deaths so maybe I could have done a bit more damage but I don't think it would have mattered.
I went in blind and most of my gems are only 18/20 at best (not counting the +2 from ascendancy) but the fight felt somewhat manageable. There were a couple of parts where all my minions died but I think that's avoidable with Meat shield on spectres + zombies & just playing better/knowing the fight. Honestly the damage in my set up felt good enough that I think with a slight upgrade and 20/20 or better gems the fight will actually be pretty easy.

What was the best optimal armor for Animate Guardian? i can't find the topic's page out of so many pages lol, i added it kingmaker + mask of the stitched demon

Also since i\'m here, @Hercanic, @guys ,
can i use MTX weapon skin transfer for 2handed mace, from a 1handed weapon?or just 2handed melee stuff?

Is it too early in the league to talk about replacement for the previous influenced items?

I am looking into respeccing into this build after trying a pure phys skelly summoner.

I cant find a updated list for gear to look for in 3.9. In 3.7 it was easy. 3.8 made everything expensive. 3.9 is too soon to tell?

What mods/gem effects on items can we be without?

I will probably do without Cyclone and rely on brands for EE. Hopefully not too much survivability is lost.

Animated guardian is page 153
Looking for some insight from anyone who is currently running this build who is also doing red maps, specifically t13-16. I am doing the "King of all summoners" build and it is very rippy in the high tier red maps and I am utterly tired of dying to the metamorph bosses and conquerors.

Has anyone gotten this variant to the top end maps? I don't want to quit the league already.
I was planning on doing the Triad Grip version from last league but soon realized that I need to be a lot tankier. To that end I worked in shield charge/fortify and moved the cwdt/desecrate/spirit offering onto a 4 link and added enfeeble. Flask wise I'm running with a Rumi, a jade, and a quartz, the quartz is when Bone Armour is on cooldown.

I anticipate needing more dps on high level maps and added grip of the council and a self cast vulnerability. I'm currently in low yellows so I won't know how this will all work out.

I've done t15 map and metamorph with my setup, and they were easy.
This build is so strong, and it doesnt have any end in sight to what it can handle. I dont have much experience with deep delving. So, I'll have to wait and see how that goes.

Has about 10k ehp when everything gets rolling in combat, and is stupid tanky. Just been popping vaal skellies when i need burst, and saving it for spawning metamorph. Minions aren't dying at all.

For comparison, here's when we reached 1 million views. It was only 3 (!) months ago! We more than doubled the number of replies as well! (2897 - 1276 = 1621) Divided by 103 days, that's an average of 9.7k views and 15 to 16 posts per day.

I'm doing Tier 16s pretty easily & I'm not dying to metamorphs with this build. You can check my profile for my gear & tree if you want, the name is "IWasStrongerInBlight" I played the same build last league as well and it was probably in the top 3 builds for end game content I've ever played in PoE. It's possible to die if you roll some seriously rippy mods on the maps or if you stop moving.
Here's my (almost) finished build from last league as well as a video with an Uber Elder kill in it. Price to performance it's probably the best build I've played in PoE.

I haven't had much time to play Metamorph. In testing both the 3.8 build and the Triad Grip variant in Standard, I found no problems. I personally prefer the Triad variant, though.

Dashbb has written a nice summary of their experiences in Metamorph endgame and provided video: here.

For Awakener, it's notable that most people in the Awakener Kill race used Skeletons, which we already use. The fight itself just comes down to learning the mechanics.

If the Hunter conqourer is giving you trouble, take a look at my reply @ xaeror35.

As I feared, there are absolutely no Support mods in the new pool. As a result, most of the Conqueror affixes do not benefit minions. The one saving grace is that Shaper and Elder influence can still be found as a map mod, and influenced gear bases can still drop from various league mechanics.

As for other gear replacements, like Uniques, I talk about that @ Dashbb and @ Kirian42.

"
I will probably do without Cyclone and rely on brands for EE.

In that case, go with the Triad Grip variant.

compare the damage of this [Eye of Malice] vs a rare with minion damage and + levels?

My biggest concern with EoM is during clear, where we won't always be applying EE and curses.

Going from 2x to 2.5x damage = 25% more damage, at most. Factor in boss curse effect and resists that cancel out EE, and it drops. +3 Minion Damage will hands-down be better for Skeletons. To avoid a loss, you'd need to relocate Skeletons to your weapon or chest.

50% resists - 50% EE = 0%
29%+24% Frostbite/EleWeak = 53%
* 0.34 effect = 18%
+ 10% Exposure = 28%
* 1.5 Eye of Malice = 42%

In other words, it would contribute -14% Cold Resistance to bosses, or 11% more damage.

"
exposure of the [Eye of Malice] helm?

According to PoeDB, it's 10% exposure.

"
I assume Arakali's Fang loses a lot of power with Triad Grip

I had the same initial assumption, but was surprised when I did the math:
"
Hercanic wrote:
Although Cold Triad isn't ideal for Spiders (Chaos Triad would make full use of their poison), they still deal a lot of damage, in exchange for the trouble of maintaining them.

Fully committing to Zombies, we can reach 500k each x11, plus Slam (Feeding Frenzy and L4 Empower in a claw with +1, +2 Supports, Maim, Ele Damage with Attacks, and Faster Attacks) = 5.5M total.

Fully committing to Spiders, you can reach 432k each x20 (Minion Damage, Melee Phys Damage, Damage on Full Life) = 8.6M total.

If you instead use Melee Splash for Spiders and don't gem swap for bosses, they'll deal 283k each, or 5.7M total. So pretty close to Zombies, who have a natural Slam for AOE clear.

If you used Zombies instead of Melee Splash, then Zombies would contribute another 204k each x9 = 1.8M. Together you'd get 7.5M total.

Even without its poison, a Spider is almost equal to a Zombie, but we get twice as many.

other ways of reducing the incoming chaos damage?

Which boss? A map boss, or the Hunter conquorer? If it's Al-Hezmin giving you trouble, take a look at my reply @ xaeror35. The biggest danger from him is his ridiculous poison damage, which can be countered.

For general Chaos Damage and Chaos Degens, resists are always your best bet, followed by regen.

The Cleansed Thoughts anoint is functionally worth ~38% Chaos Resistance (or a bit more if you overcap to compensate against a Despair curse and such).

Pantheon - Arakaali: 5% reduced Damage taken from Damage Over Time, +25% Chaos Resistance against Damage Over Time.

Pantheon - Shakari: 5% reduced Chaos Damage taken, 25% reduced Chaos Damage over Time taken while on Caustic Ground (trigger with Desecrate?), Immune to Poison.

Item crafts for reduced damage or Chaos Resistance.

Solaris Lorica chest: 25% reduced Chaos Damage taken over time, Chaos Damage does not bypass Energy Shield.

Shavronne's Wrappings chest: Chaos Damage does not bypass Energy Shield.

Esh's Visage shield: Chaos Damage does not bypass Energy Shield while not on Low Life or Low Mana. Meaning you'd have to drop an aura to keep 36% of your mana unreserved.

Corrupted Energy jewel: With 5 Corrupted Items Equipped: 50% of Chaos Damage does not bypass Energy Shield, and 50% of Physical Damage bypasses Energy Shield.

A nice idea for our amulet.

Once past the learning pains, it looks to be a pretty mechanical fight.

A Corrupting Blood immunity jewel may be helpful, but we also have Bone Armour.

Losing Spectres and Zombies to the storms should be fine when we have unlimited Skeletons. Otherwise, Meat Shield Support would be the ticket, such as when using the Jinxed Juju amulet.
