[3.13] TOXIC RAIN + HERALD OF AGONY Pathfinder Build (6-8K life) (UBER ELDER done!) +VIDEO GUIDE!
i'd like to see an example or video of the 20 pods max thing. im trying to test it and im not noticing any pods disappearing, but its tough to see if they explode faster or not.
people are using toxic rain with a quill rain and RAT x4 totem, so i think they'd notice their pods not doing anything over 20, since builds like that should get an absolute shit ton more pods on the ground than pathfinder or anyone else. also, why are you doing a hit damage variation of the build with quill rain? | |
" I don't think this is true. I league started a similar build with Pathfinder before I realized that the DoT could stack. I then re-rolled Trickster to focus attack speed and skill effect duration and from what I can tell there is no cap on the number of pods, or it is way higher than the 20 that you claim. If it were limited to just 20, you would reach the cap at a mere 4 attacks per second. I'm pushing 11 attacks per second on my Trickster and the DPS is much, much higher than what it was at 4. That isn't even accounting for Mirage Archer which is attacking at around 7 APS. Also, buffs like the speed shrine and Vaal Haste provide a massive DPS increase. So in my experience you can absolutely focus on the DoT damage and scale it seemingly endlessly with attack speed and skill effect duration. I would suggest pulling this claim from your guide unless you can back it up with hard data. Edit: Only accounted for 4 pods per shot before when it is actually 5. " I must say it's very HARD to play any bow after Quill Rain. Feels insanely slow. At the same time i have a feeling that in the very end-game Quill Rain will fall behind a good phys bow. I even think that using Faster Attacks is not a bad idea on a strong bow. Will be just as fast as quill rain and will do comparable amoubt of pods. 2) does not. Mostly scales with Virulence. One important thing to note = massive attack speed = faster virulence stacks. So Quill Rain does help A LOT to keep Virulence. https://www.twitch.tv/angry_roleplayer

" I can upload it tomorrow, but you need to download it then and calculate pods frame by frame. Quill Rain is there because it's just fast and you plant 2x more pods than with a slow bow. Based on my PoB numbers the damage is comparable to Lioneye's Remorse. With Quill Rain you will plant 50 pods in about 3 seconds, while with slow bow you will plant 50 pods within 6-7 seconds. Overall it's pretty close results. https://www.twitch.tv/angry_roleplayer

" So far i only rely on my own video recordings. I recorded videos with both 1.5 aps and 3.3 aps. With 3.3 APS i planted 20 pods max and they ALWAYS expired before another portion was planted. And since noone else provided any video proof i am, for now, sure with this assumptions. If anyone could record it with for example dying sun or very high APS and then count pods frame by frame: i would gladly remove the false claim. https://www.twitch.tv/angry_roleplayer All builds: http://www.angryroleplayer.com/path-of-exile-builds/ https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2143469 Last edited by Angry_Roleplayer on Sep 5, 2018, 3:51:38 PM

I hope you know you have your main 6l set up in your gloves for a 7 link.

Thanks a lot for writing a guide for this new skill! One question: did you consider using less duration in TR 6l? In POB i get the most damage out of this gem. It makes the explosions happens really fast and works very well with the high attack speed of Quill Rain. Looking forward for more updates on your build. Keep up the good work!

" Yes. The dot of the pods stack. The aoe is big enough to hit mobs with all pods very easy. Even with conc effect, specially with the pathfinder chaos skills aoe buff node.. I get more chaos dot on my quil lvl 20 toxic rain than my lvl 21 caustic. With skill duration node i would be able to stack even more dot. |
