You get +1 to gems if you craft "cannot roll attack modifiers" first, and you either use the beast forcing a prefix, or you exalt slam when all suffixes are filled. Beast is cheaper afaik.

I heard of people getting chaos over time multiplier on a staff (instead of +1 gems) but not on bow so far.

One part I haven't been able to figure out - and I apologize if it was addressed somewhere in the past 150 pages :) - is how I am supposed to run both HoA as well as Malevolance. The gem setup for HoA has mana reservation around 80% - how do I work Malevolance in there? The reduced mana reservation nodes don't seem to cut it for me. Not sure what I'm missing.

I don't have mana issues, to be clear. The leech has been enough for me to sustain toxic rain. It's just this reservation bit.

UGH, sorry, I see what I'm missing now. I'm using a Starkonja with Toxic Rain damage instead of reduced mana reservation for HoA. Will look at upgrading there. I assume that is seen as a worthwhile trade-off or else it wouldn't be suggested.

What would be a good 6th support gem option, as the bow has vicious projectiles covered already.

it's in path of building

So it's showing as a dps loss, but i think i'm messing something up. With PoB, when I select which skill i am using, will it apply the +2 to bow gems, or do i need to add the +2 myself?

It will apply automatically. Make sure you enable the 7L skill sewtup, select the bow, and select proper TR skill gem from the left (the 7l and not the 6l)
