Ahh I see it. I'm just so sick of Molten Strike, want to play this build again but feel like using anything else is less than ideal.
Thoughts on new skills gems?
I know we're already struggling for sockets, but War Banner sounds way too good to pass up! (perhaps unless you're MS)

@ 50 stages:
400% Increased Area of Effect (WHAT THE F__K!?!!, RIP MS lel)
50% Increased Aura Effect (Great offensive and defensive boosts for when you need them most)

Last and certainly not least, adrenaline!!!
100% Increased Damage
25% Attack, Cast and Movement Speed

War Banner seems absolutely busted to me!

On paper this seems great. Like you stated, we are a bit socket starved so what would we drop? It sounds really good for bosses but I wonder if stacks will drop once you zone into a boss arena.

My guess is they will drop off because, if I am reading the skill correctly, we can gain 50 seconds worth of duration of a placed banner at 50 stages. So allowing stages to last when zoning in would be bonkers to me since that would be a huge dps boost for a full minute. Unless banners take damage when they are down? I guess we have to wait and see.

Edit: Just occurred to me that we may be able to replace the totems with this. Thoughts?

Edit 2: It reserves 10% mana when cast the first time, we'd have to drop an aura even with a level 4 enlighten. Doesn't seem worth it to me now unless you've already capped resists and don't need purity of elements.

The only bosses that have separate (loaded) zones are Elder Guardians and Elder/Shaper? These bosses all have phases anyway so the most up-time you could hope for is 50% of the fight, less for fights with more phases. But we should be able to make use of the Banner for almost all map bosses and even the Delve bosses, etc.

I don't understand what you mean by drop off. The Banner has a base duration of 10 seconds, and gain's +1 second per stage for potential 60 second duration at 50 stages. The concept seems to be exactly what you're doubting. It is by design, a huge boost for a limited time. IF (for whatever reason) the Banners stages are lost upon entering a boss zone (that isn't a separate loaded area), that to me would be ridiculous, and make the Banners almost worthless.

I'd happily take an extra 1-4 points on the tree for more Reduced Mana Reservation to slot this in. There's definitely flexibility in the tree to accommodate this

Ok it occurs to me that this aoe buff probably only applies to the aoe of the banner's buffs. Please excuse drunk me.

The rest is still busted IMO though.
