" Skitterbot shock is non-hit, so 20%. Shock checkbox is 50%, so can't be used. Adding 'nearby enemies take 20% increased damage' to an item is ignored by PoB. Adding 'enemies take 20% increased damage when taunted' does work. Taunt on its own doesn't increase damage taken, so there is no extra damage over what we're trying to calculate with the non-hit shock. I thought I explained this in the PoB notes page. Actually, unless some mechanic has changed in the past couple of Leagues, the set up should work. Used something similar previously with an Arc Witch. CWDT would cast a level 4 Ball Lightning which had CoH tied to it and the curse was Enfeeble. The low level CWDT procs on damage and casts Ball Lightning which spreads out hitting mobs and that procs a high level CoH and a curse. So the CWDT doesn't cast the CoH, the Ball Lightning (AB in our case)actually does. Worked great. With this build obviously can't use Ball Lightning, that would defeat the EE that we are looking for. Maybe it has changed, but I definitely see that the CWDT is casting the AB, just can't tell if the AB is procc'ing the CoH. Perhaps Brands don't behave the same as the Ball Lightning. I know that CoH doesn't work with totems, traps or mines, just like CWDT doesn't work with totems, traps, or mines. But since I can see that the CWDT is casting AB I figured CoH should work. If i get a Solstice Vigil. Can i run a blasphemy temp chains for free? Or does the 35% override the 100% reduction. Otherwise is there a way to run both ele weakness and temp chain without using Curse on hit?

That is the down side. Have to take a hit to start the whole CWDT/AB/CoH/Curse train. But, as I explained in an above reply, the CoH should proc off of the AB (not CWDT, which in any case, is way lower level than both the CoH gem and the curse gem) since AB is the skill that "hits". Anyway, again, thanks for taking the time to reply. BTW, very nice build, really enjoying it. Much more than my Zombiemancer from several Leagues ago. First of all before I forget again, big thanks to Kayella for all the effort put into this guide and thread.
I'm looking for some advice on what upgrades to prioritize. Currently midway through red maps, not having any particular issues with damage or survivability (7.2 HP 900 ES atm). I switched to the v2 build over the weekend, though I still need to get a Rumi's. Current gear: I also have the unique jewels as well as appropriate rare ones. In terms of jewelry I intend to rebalance it with resistances so I can replace the lightning res enchant in the gloves, but that shouldn't be too costly. My original thinking while working on v2 was that my next upgrade would be a +3 helmet, but lately I'm in doubt. As far as I can tell there 4 major and expensive-ish potential upgrades: 1. +1 Spectre chest 2. +3 Helm with good affixes. 3. Wand with +1 to all minion gems 4. Spectre boots. In terms of budget I have 3 ex in the bank and can raise the budget to 5-6 by selling some cards and surplus currency. (No, not regret orbs :p. Excilence values my overall stash at about 4k chaos, so maybe I can push it even higher) I'm wondering if chest shouldn't be my next upgrade. In that case I could also sell the Vis Mortis for around 3 ex and should have some funds left for further upgrades. " Yes, Solstice Vigil will allow u to run blasphemy temp chains for free, I'm using it for my POH build. I'm not sure abt whether u can run both ele weakness and temp chain with blashemy, but u probably will have to sacrifice skill points to spec into reduced mana reserved or sacrifice an existing aura in order to do so. Which may or may not be worth it. Even so, rmb that most normal mobs would die almost immediately before ele weakness has a chance to be applied anyway. It would be more useful for single-target application on bosses, but the effectiveness on them is reduced by 80%. |

I really did enjoy the V1 wand & shield version, the clear and speed was great (frenzy + phase run). V2 does feel tankier, but lost damage like it was told in the guide. Still melts bosses. I have never tryed UElder before and thinking of giving it a try this league.

" Hm. This is something I can definitely do after I finish updating the levelling guide and the spectre library. Since 3.2, this build guide has evolved into 3 very different builds: life/block (W&S v2), evasion/acro (W&S v1) and EB/MoM (PoH). Each one is so different, they could actually be separate guides. I don't think I'll revive evasion/acro since it's possible to modify life/block for more DPS (there are some tricks to almost double the DPS), but I have developed a new DPS build based off the EB/MoM tree. In that case, I'd probably have to rename the build guide to sowething like "Kay's Spectre Summoner" and have two sections. One for the W&S v2, which will continue to be the tanky SSF-friendly league starter, and a late league EB/MoM for pewpew DPS. Killed Uber Elder. Lost 0 minions (didn't unsummon AG) and died once to stupid mistake (shield charged into balls). I was planning to add Wrath aura (using Haste atm), but damage is quite insane even without it.
I'm also in the middle of revisioning the build myself, so using Victario's Charity without Aegis. Fight was hectic so didn't see how many Frenzy Charges were active on my spectres. But then again.. the damage seems like it's enough. |
