Is there anyone with PoH and SD that can share a bit on their experience with mapping? My PoH isnt ready yet and just to shake things up I swapped to Solar Guards for a bit and the mapping feels so much better. I'm guessing the PoH will help the SD quite a bit as well, or I hope at least, because now I'm re-considering SG pretty hard! Granted the lower levels of boss damage but time spent compared between bossing and mapping I think generally I spend much more time in maps, and I reckon the SG is good enough to kill the end game bosses _occasionally_.

Ok I just got to act 5 and can summon the slave drivers. I have 4 blue links on my chest piece at the moment but I’m getting confused on what the priority gems are for the specters. Is it RS, minion, damage, spell echo, and death mark or something else? The guide has different gems in different spots.


Spectre, Spell Echo, Minion Damage + Feeding Frenzy for Trash or Deathmark for Bossing.

Latest PoB (1.4.152) has support for Slave Drivers and added bonuses from Feeding Frenzy!

Edit: BTW the skill they have is called "Flame Surge" in PoB, the same as in the game's internal workings, but it IS showing up as lightning damage.

I played SG before and in end content SG cant compare to SD. Even in clear tier 15 and 16 map.
You may want put Frenzy gem in and your 5 SD will hunt every mob around. Surprisingly it is better than Increase AOE. Ske with infernal legion help thing smoother.

Still need long way to re-setup and max out and finish 40chall.

TO EVERYONE WHO NEW TO THIS BUILD:

This build is great cheap. Only expensive item I bought is the 6L blue pledge. Which is legion content and also 6color hardly to get.
Diadem = 2 times farm master mind.
Solstice = 2 times farm Shaper.
Buy +1 spec chest price ONLY 1ex. Dont need 6l so saving money here.
May be you need few more tries but it still ez to get.

just to add to the post above, if you can one shot whatever map tier you are doing with solar guards, then they will be better than slave drivers. if you can't one shot them with the solar guards then you are better off with slave drivers as their damage is a fair bit higher and you will probably be one shotting them.

as you get more movement speed slave drivers will feel better than solar guards. they move a lot faster and have a better time of keeping up. i was using shield charge in an insanity glove before and goatmen and solar guards would cause a lot of downtime. slave drivers dealt with that issue a lot better.

you only need to swap one gem to try them out so just give it a go. put in gmp for increased aoe and you are good to go

I've updated the guide for new PoB - removed the workaround with edited Unending Hunger.

It seems like I've grossly underestimated SD's DPS. The league starter now tops out at 1.3mil per spectre and the PoH MoM/EB at 1.5mil per spectre.
