I focus on Slave Driver spectres, which are the hardest hitting spectres in the game. You can skip a fair amount of minion damage passives and they are still fine. This lets you focus on life passives.

I highly recommend it if you can find it for cheap. I found a 4-link Wraithlord for 2c and a 3-link Bone for 3c. Together with Unnatural Strength ascendancy passive, you have +5 to Raise Spectre!



So at the start of Act 10, I had 4 level 81 Slave Drivers. Just facerolled everything.

For this build, I suggest linking Wrath to Generosity. This will increase its effects for your minions and not apply any effects on you. So no negative effect for EE. You're safe.

Holy Flame Totem is suggested for early levelling because it gives a 6% heal as well as triggering EE. You can actually keep using it forever if you like, but you will need swap Dread Banner for level 1 Clarity because we need one aura affecting the necro to proc Commander of Darkness.

You may need to do it several times: Desecrate randomly spawn corpses from a list of all monsters in the area, including your spectres and the enemy monsters.

Necromantic Aegis is actually for Victario's Charity.



It gives the shield properties to your minions, so that when they hit and kill, they generate charges for everyone. And because you have many minions, they will have almost 100% uptime on frenzy and power charges.


EE is proc'd off your self-cast. The minions' attacks don't interact with the passive at all. So if you are using lightning spectres (Slave Drivers), casting Holy Flame Totem or Arma Brand will proc -50% lightning res. It's important to make sure you don't have any 'added lightning damage to spells' on your gear.

Yeah, sorry. The guide doesn't take into account the changes in 3.8, so it still uses the old method of levelling which was SRS. I tried to make it less painful by including zombies and holy flame totem.

I promise it does improve once you can pick up spectres in Act 3. You can go back to Act 1 and get Cannibal Fire-Eaters. If you put them in a 4-link with Minion Damage + Elemental Focus + Deathmark, they should melt most things. They will be a bit weak in low levels, so support them by casting Holy Flame Totem on top of them for the 6% heal.
