Is Pledge of Hands better than 6link armor and frenzy changes from shield?

I used to play necromancer a lot with staff. Do you think it's a good idea to go block way with bone offering?

I've been talking to uberelite about how to build for Slave Drivers. He's been working with PoH, and I put it to the test myself.

Uber Elder vs Slave Drivers with PoH: https://youtu.be/bDiScKekbAQ
Unfortunately I lose 3 spectres before the start of 2nd portal phase, but the last spectre carried me through!

I only just bought PoH, so my tree is still the same as with the shield spec. It might actually be worth while building for Bone Offering and taking staff block passives.

The fight was smooth enough but at one point my spectres are hitting Elder while he's immune and my convocation doesn't cast because my middle mouse button is broken. They then get hit by both tentacles and shaper balls :(

Cheers to Inferius for asking and Kayella for the prompt reply. Your youtube link appears broken but I went to your channel to have a watch. I spent some time considering the staves before deciding to go with the wand for myself, in case anyone was curious I'll share my on paper results.

- Wand + Charity (frenzies) + Flesh Offering (autocasting) = 568,519 DPS
- Wand can be multimodded to add cast speed = 608,796 DPS

- Pledge of hands + Flesh offering = 533,599 DPS
- Pledge of hands w/o Flesh offering (not autocasting) = 440,082 DPS

- Multimod power charge on crit staff + Flesh = 551,241 DPS
- Multimod power charge on crit staff w/o Flesh = 469,038 DPS

Wand + Shield has the highest damage, auto casts offering & the frenzy charges grant minion movement speed. Downside is that it does not have the 18% block of staves

Pledge cannot be multimodded for more damage but is cheaper to obtain a base copy. Gains additional AOE on repeat casts. Con is that it only gives its 52% More damage when all 4 casts are completed and hit the target. The projected damage will not be true if the specters get leashed or if the target teleports, becomes immune, moves or dies during the gap. 100% increased mana is there too which is neat

Multimod staff has good damage and the high crit is neat, could swap out gems for shock/shattering. 45% increased minion life would help keep the spectres alive. Does require multimodding to be good putting it 2-3ex above the pledge in projected cost

Craftable multimod staff is
Spoiler

- Socketed Gems are supported by Level 18 Power Charge On Critical Strike
- Minions have 45% increased maximum Life
Minions deal 45% increased Damage
- +2 to Level of Socketed Support Gems
- Minions have 28% increased Attack Speed
Minions have 28% increased Cast Speed
- Can have multiple Crafted Modifiers
- Any 6th Sufix, Resistances or Attributes

After playing with auto cast flesh offering and convocation I don't think I can go back, its feel is just too fluid/convenient for me, much better then my last minion build using a +3 bow.

Test Slave Drivers, rly good dmg BUT they die to often, not in <t15 etc, but on Elder-84, Phoenix, sometimes on Mino :/
Tired resummon him ) seems ill back to Fire-Eaters or SGuards.
Or may be I need few source for Leech for minions?

btw my AG stop dying with 34k+ hp in +3 helmet
Hi, I'm fairly new to specters so I was wondering which specters should I use while leveling through the acts until mapping? From the leveling section, I'm supposed to transition to specters at level 34. Which ones are optimal?

Thanks in advance.

Hey there,

very nice and detailed guide!
I never ever played a spectre build but i thought... "let's try" so i found your guide :)
was able to craft some good items:

obviously i'm playing on standard ;)
but so far it's really nice. 1st map I did was a T16 mino and :D damn that was easy.
Shaper, Guardians and Uberelder no problem.
The damage is really great and as long as I pay attention not to stay in the middle of packs, i do not die ^^
took me a few tries to figure out how to summon those spectres but your video about that helped alot! thanks for that ;)

keep up the good work
would love to see more guides from you ♥

I've been leveling up my Necro recently. During low levels, I was accustomed to using Storm Brand + Zombies, so when I made the switch, it felt a bit clunky. What I learned is that while leveling, before you get the main minion you intend to use, you can summon anything and they will work. I remember it was around the time I did Kaom and Daresso I switched to using only Spectres + Stone Golem, and I ended up killing both bosses with their own minions in short order (fire minions and gladiators, respectively). If a minion died, I just desecrated and raised anything during the fight, not caring if it was not the ideal set-up with my 6 link.

I think the best minion to use before Slave Drivers are Stygian Revenants with GMP instead of Increased AOE or Concentrated Effect (all other gems are the same as with Slave Drivers). They are big nasty spiders, and with GMP they basically have lightning machine guns. You get them around the time you do Belly of the Beast the first time.

I used them until I got to the slave pens and had a lot of fun.

I am curious what are your guys' thoughts on vaal advocates instead of Slave Drivers? The ball lightning, ones. Mind taking a look at my current build?

I am using Vaal advocates with double curse, GMP on them. I am also using a timeless Templar jewel that provides me with 15% attack/cast speed for my minions, 15% increased aura effectiveness and a trait with ''15% physical damage taken is transformed into cold damage''.

I am using 3 Vaal advocates. As for the helmet, the red gem is supposed to be my animate guardian with fortify and helmet giving negative lightning resistance to monsters.
