Freeze/Shatter is an amazing mechanic and I absolutely love it. I don't notice porcupines because they all get shattered!

However, frost sentinel shoot an extreme obnoxious ice spear that covers your screen in bright white spam, making it hard to see anything. It can also cause FPS drop, and if you freeze/shatter large numbers of monsters at the same time, it can cause game freezes/stutter.

SGs have much higher damage and don't cover the screen in fireball spam.


I totaly agree the bright spam might be annoying but i just can't understand why people say that Solar Guard build have much higher damage than Magritte's Frost Sentinel.
When i check POB i see 1.171.096 total dps from Frost Sentinel against 827.892 total dps from Solar Guard.

I'm probably missing something, please help me understand.

Edit: I'm comparing OP's pastebin (SG) vs Magritte's (FS).

Im struggling with Phase Run. Its quite to short without Increased Duration support. In old videos we can see Duration support with Phase Run.
At actuall build there is nothing about that.

I just got focused too many times. Just looking into solution. As my clear speed is weak without Duration Jewel on

I'm around 1,2 mil dps per spectre on Solar Guards atm, but with MUCH less cost than Magritte's sentinels.
Decided to test Frost Sentinels out and they are NUTS.

Although, if you have an older PC or if you are sensitive to bright lights, stay FAR FAR away! :^)

For anyone on PS4 - fire eaters are far and away the most viable spectre in terms of lag. Frost guards are unplayable due to turning your machine into a microwave. SGs can also not be played with the gmp jewel. Using pierce instead in the green socket is the only way to use them.
Hey guys i got 4 Slum Lord (80% increase minions damage).
Also 2 Axiom Warden (80% increase minions life) for 3 and 4 skill points.

These are the losses (plus skillpoints i'll have to take from somewhere else to invest to reach those Elegant Hubris nodes):
25% minions damage
10% minions life
30% minions accuracy
40 intelligence
38% maximum life
5% all resist
28% mana

It is worth trying to reach them ?
I will have to replace many skill points there.

You have 4,5 k life loosing another 38% will make you TOTAL glass cannon.

When I talk about numbers, I just mean using the basic build and doing the basic gem swap and spectre swap. So it's a 'like vs like' comparison.

Magritte's build is a specialist frost sentinel build that pushes their DPS as high as possible, so you need to compare to another specialist high dps build. Then you get numbers like this:

With Frost Sentinel + Phantoms i have 8kk shaper dps. 544k from each specter and 523k from each phantom.
