Why would you use 9 points for the 2 jewels after the big scion life passive group?

Instead of this: http://poeurl.com/cuCK (from the POB)

You could do this: http://poeurl.com/cuCH, it gives more life (and you gain a tiny bit of dps) you do however lose some resist, but life>resist nodes imo! (This is just a quick sketch up so maybe there's even some better ways of doing it.)

Hm. I had a look with PoB.

The DPS is about the same, there is more life (about 200hp), but loses 10% fire, 28% cold, 28% lightning res.

I find gear with high life and high resists to be very expensive in trade, so picking up res on the passive tree makes gearing cheaper. Especially if you want to get something with near maximum life and an open affix for crafting.

i'm playing ssf and started leveling this build last night. it's my first summoner build so i have a lot to learn.

i already have some of the uniques: victario's charity, unending hunger and bones of ullr.

i'm missing anatomical knowledge and vis mortis. i have a lot of currency for crafting so i could craft the body armor but having to annul 3 or 4 times sounds pretty scary when i have a limited amount of annul orbs.

i'm a little worried about the abyss jewels since this build uses so many and it's pretty hard to find ones with the mods you need. i think i'll probably have to craft most of them.

are there any gems i should be leveling multiple of to vaal?

is anyone else playing ssf that can offer some advice?

YOu can always make better gem to make up diffrence even lower than 200hp, not worth imo

Also we loose evasion rating which is great for acro build

I chanced Vis Mortis when iw as playng SSF flashback last league, takes about 300 chance orbs but was totally worth it, rare armour is great but you dont need it, Vis Mortis is viable.

i tried chancing uniques in a couple of other builds and never got lucky, but i think i gave up around 100 tries. i'll give it a shot.

did you scour and chance or chance all the necromancer silks that you find?

No, its a waste, i tuned my filter to show vis mortis bases and chanced those , usually got like 3-5 bases/map
Has survivability improved much with new gems this season?
Just picked up a timeless jewel with 3 80% minion damage nodes. I lose 3 health nodes. Minion damage mod is 504% lol...
