Wand is one of the last things I upgrade usually... It's best to just find a cheaper wand with minion damage and an open suffix. Getting +1 spectre chest should be priority then next is getting Spectre gem level to get the additional spectre.

I disagree with this. It's much easier to get a +1 wand (with an open suffix) and +1 boots and lvl 21 spectre gem than getting a 6link spectre chest.
as usual I started a necro (spectre) and tried to mix Kay and Ghazzy. Unfortunately it seems that I made some mistakes as I die far too often (T13-T14 -- sometimes close to 1-shot). Can someone check my gear and give me some advice (need the "Mistress of Sacrifice" ascendancy and some flasks for sure)? Can't figure out how on earth I can be 1-shot with maxed res and mediocre armour :(
(Playing with SO spectre but could switch if there is something better)

Life % on block shield is huge and its not that expensive so find one of those. You definitely need better defensive flasks and to quality them. I would also consider using the no cluster variation since it provides a lot more defense. I am running 0 clusters and the damage is still insane and have no problems clearing and melting bosses. I also took Bone Barrier so I can bind it to my left click and then no need for a guard skill gem.

My experience is different... Getting a decent chest with Spectre isn't that expensive. I got a really good base for like 2EX and linking a rare chest is not that hard if you find one that has an open craft for quality.

6-linking an item depends strong on your personal expierience. I've wasted some seasons about 2000+ fusing on a single chest and I personally hate that process. For a decent spectre body armour I need about 10ex and a cheap wand, boots and spectre gem are about 4-6ex.

For no clusters variation, is it the same passive tree as minion army? (Relying on regular ghastly jewels)
