[3.4] Teleports Behind You - Poet's Pen Lightning Warp & Arc, MF / Facetank t16 / Shaper / U. Elder

Hi there,

Awesome build so far, only got 1 question.
I thought the idea was to lightning warp every time you attack, however when I hold my attack key/button, I only warp once per 2 attacks. Really can't figure out what's wrong.

Character is HighVoltageVolt

Any advise here?

hey great build, thanks for the guide!!

but why do we use fire trap as lvling, i cant get the poets pen to cast it :(

anyway this is awesome it oneshots all the mobs on low lvl already!

U read it wrong, it suggests using lightning tendrils or fire trap or freezing pulse until u reach lvl 12.
Then u can equip poets pen and use the recommended firestorm/arc setup

You don't use traps when leveling. The leveling section of the guide says to "use Arc / Storm Call and progress through the game" until you can use the Pens. Then use the recommended Arc/LW setup in the Pens. Weapon swap for bosses with BL.

How do people maintain frenzy charges during boss fights? Or do you not even bother? I find, especially for challenging fights (guardiands/shaper) where leech is so important, if i try to get frenzy charges, i'll die without the barrage sustain.

Contemplating dropping the whole frenzy setup like Askaal...

I dropped it early on as I found that I rarely, if ever, used it and felt as if I was just wasting the gem slots. I changed that whole setup for a CWDT-[Spell]-CoH-[Curse] setup and haven't had a problem with any content as of yet.

How does the CWDT/CoH mechanic work without herald of thunder to proc it? You have to fire shock nova?

Also, your build is interesting, i guess because you have that sweet watchers eye :)

Also, no assassin's mark for power charges when you fight a boss?

Sorry I keep editing: does CWDT proc shock nova which then curses?

I'm in the process of testing different build changes - specifically the Indigon variation that was mentioned earlier in this thread - so my build is all over the place at the moment. Side note on that variation, I'm most likely going to go back to the MotC helm as I feel it has better synergy with Inpulsa IMO. The Indigon probably pairs better with Cloak of Defiance and a different ascendancy. Until late last week I followed the standard build guide in this thread (except for the Intuitive Leap tree variation that was also mentioned earlier in the thread) and didn't have a problem doing any content (other than ele reflect of course). I may end up keeping Wrath and doing away with HoT and thus keeping Paragon of Calamity instead of Mastermind of Discord. I'm still not sure about that change so I need to test it more.

Back to your question...

In my current CWDT setup, [CWDT] - [Shock Nova] - [Curse on Hit] - [Conductivity], CWDT procs SN which procs CoH with procs the Conductivity Curse. You could use Assassins Mark instead of Conductivity (or any other curse for that matter such as temp chains, enfeeble, etc.) but I chose Conductivity because of losing the lightning penetration when I moved from Mastermind of Discord to Paragon of Calamity.

For bosses, the power charges are gained with using Orb of Storms with PCoC.

I'm going to test the CWDT - CoH - Shock Nova - Conductivity as well and see. Would love to see a higher efficiency version immune to ele-reflect yet still getting lightning penetration while using Paragon of Calamity.

Your version of the build is very interesting with the wrath and watcher's eye. one question I had is how do you generate power charges except for orb of storms setup on bosses?

how are you finding this variant vs. the original build also? Thanks

I took Overcharged on the tree using the Intuitive Leap jewel. That usually keeps most all charges maxed at out 3 while clearing a map. For bosses I just use Orb of Storms for only power charges.

I'm still not sure on the variation as it lowered my life quite a bit. I've been trying out the Indigon helm variation but I think I'll probably go back to MotC helm eventually. I will probably keep my gems setup as they are though and do away with HoT and Berek's and keep wrath in the essence worm. Once I get rid of Indigon I can swap out 2 of my jewels (that increase my mana cost to ramp up the Indigon damage and another for the +2 mana gain on hit) and get more life/dmg/crit.
