Yes the only way to get Merveil's Retainer is in an area inhabited by Sea Witches and their Spawn.

They trigger in order from top to bottom like cast on crit or cast while channeling. It will cast the top skill, then the next, then the next one down but yes it will trigger all of them. There's a 4 second cooldown on it triggering.


Weapon: Dying Breath
Helmet: Leer Cast
Chest: Belly of the Beast
Gloves: Meginord's or Soutbound
Boots: Victario's Flight

Work towards getting a Kingmaker to replace the Dying Breath.[/quote]

alright thx! The Ag is just used to buff my other minion dmg or does he himself deal crazy dmg as well ?

which gem to take out best ^meat shield, minion life, fortify ?

He just buffs you and your minions. I would remove fortify. It's a 1 for 1 swap on gem color and keeps the important minion life for AG as well as keeping him close buffing you with Meat Shield.

Most people just balance their resistances around the assumption that they'll have the extra 30% from Bone Armor. Just makes things easier and it's rare that you're without minions.

PoB shows the DPs of 1 skeleton so multiply that by your max number of skeletons.


Omg, Thank you so much, this means I have almost 6kk dps with ruthless and 5.5kk with Multistrike, this is my best build certainly.

I get that. But they are not totally cancelling each other out if you keep spirit offering in the CWDT and flesh in the wand with "Trigger a socketed spell". I'm doing that right now and it feels pretty great. What happens is, I map along with flesh offering up all the time. Then suddenly I get a big hit, and spirit procs. Fine. And Flesh cancels. Okay. The important thing is not dying. I then cast more skeletons thereby activating flesh again and cancelling spirit whereby I get my normal doryani spirit shield without buff. But thats okay. Because the spirit offering took care of the immediate big hit.

I realise you can do this manually, but automating the proces without needing to cast flesh offering is nice. It doesn't feel like I need to juggle between the two. I just play and get the best of both offerings. That's how I see it.


Yeah the surviving with Spirit offering is obviously the big part. The Chaos damage boost goes to waste when you have flesh offering up though. So the real question is what is more important the survivability or dropping it and switching to commander of darkness plus the added slots. I don't know the answer yet and that's why I'm testing out my the one side of it. Clearly the DPS is insane but I need to get to higher content to test survivability.
Like Solanales said, if your Skeletons are doing more than 1m DPS already, push survivability. Any boss currently gets smoked if you're doing more than 1m dps per skelly, there is absolutely nothing you will struggle with damage wise, but if you Awakened Sextant 4x, Vaal, Chisel until 20%, and super juice up a t16 map you will die, trust me lol. We're not juggernauts so we can't facetank everything, and with all the minions going around you won't see stuff on the ground.
Spirit Offering is almost essential if you want to not die in t16 maps with a ton of affixes.

In my case my PoB shows I'm doing 1.6m DPS per skelly with a double wand setup:

But with this setup with a shield instead I do 1.5m DPS, I think 100k less DPS is a good tradeoff for more HP, more ES AND more chaos resist (basicalled capped chaos res):

A lot of us have moved away from MoM and added more life/Doryani jewel as well as reserving more mana with things like Pride.

It turns that keystone in to https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Corrupted_Soul which is:

Corrupted Soul is a keystone passive skill which causes 50% Non-Chaos damage taken to bypass Energy shield and grants 20% of Maximum Life as Extra Maximum Energy Shield.

TL;DR: Gives you lots of Energy Shield

I've been rolling with the Breathstealer gloves but I do need more defensives so I've been thinking about crafting a pair of gloves.

I've noticed that Redeemer gloves have a 30%minion damage mod, why don't people use this?
