Get Vaal Skeletons level 21. For Skeletons, gem levels are much much much more damage than quality.

After that, if you don't want to just relevel them all, quality the Skeleton support gems, in whatever order you want.

What about empower then ? What would be the best gem links with empower for skeles?
Be water, my friend.

According to my pob Impale is litteraly 1k dps better than melee physical support. As long as there is no hidden mechanic pob is not calculating, i wont socket a gem that fully relys on a 40% procc and need to stacking dex somewhere to give me 1k dps more than a 100% uptime gem.

Leveling was fine with impale, but for the endgame i will switch back to melee physical if no one can change my mind.

Edit: If i drop feeding frenzy, not only the gem but disabling the condition and then socket impale as replacement, i get 100k(!) dps gain.

Is the aggressive stance really needed? Does 100k dps loss justify something like that?

Best DPS setup you can get with non-awakened gems: Vaal Skeleton - Impale - Multistrike - Minion Damage - Melee Physical - Brutality

Aggression given by Feeding Frenzy is basically required. The main way I kill juiced up Metamorphs is to stand off screen and spam skellies on the edge and let them charge in.

No one is suggesting replacing Melee Physical Support with Impale. They are suggesting replacing Multi-strike/Melee Splash/Ruthless (the "6th" gem in the setup) with Impale *and* running Dread Banner somewhere.
1) What's the best way to get a decent/good convoking wand? Do you buy them or craft them yourself? They seem expensive.

2) I went with impale as I got kind of lucky with a 6-link sacrifical garb and I need the dex anyway. I see a lot of people mention running it with dread banner. Is this necessary to get the most out of it? And what do you drop for it?

I have Identitys Fork. I see the Impale DPS and my TOTAL Dps WITH Impale is 1k higher than without.

Question: Impale over splash even when map clearing?
Another question: is there a consensus on spirit offering vs flesh offering?

I don't like gem-swapping so I use impale/dread banner the entire time. Again, I have no trouble quickly clearing juiced up T16s - the only mod I ever scour is Physical Reflect - they're doable but annoying.

I spam Spirit Offering constantly when in combat. With my 6.3k HP pool it generates over 1.5k energy shield every cast. With bone armor that makes quite an effective buffer against damage spikes. Skeles kill and move fast enough without Flesh Offering in my opinion. I am running 4x To Dust.

1. There are a couple ways to craft the wands. Make sure they're the right ilvl to hit the mods you want (typically ilvl84). You can alteration spam one until you hit +1 Minion/Spell Gems, Regal and Annul until you get a nice base and Multi-Mod it. I've dumped a couple thousand alt doing this and don't prefer it - those wands have a huge mod pool. The best method is probably fossil crafting. Check PoE DB to confirm but I think you can slam Jagged/Shuddering/Corroded/Metallic to get a good chance at the +skills prefixes. You could also spam: Bound fossils, Bound + Aetheric, Bound + Aetheric + Corroded, Bound + Corroded + Metallic, Bound + Aetheric + Corroded + Metallic or Bound + Prismatic + Corroded + Metallic. There's a lot of options for fossil slamming just play around with cost-to-slam and the PoE DB to find what you're comfortable with.

2. Check my character (BadShrimp) I'm about to start corrupting gems but I'm pretty happy with the skill selection now. I'm using a 6-Link Skelle w/ Impale, 4-Link Carrion, 4-Link Zombie, 3-Link Spectre, and Generosity+Dread Banner in a 3-link with an open gem slot for leveling an extra gem. My last 4-link is Flame Dash - Faster Cast - Empower - Desecrate with Spirit Offering in a Unset Ring. You could run Spirit Offering in place of the Empower without much issue. I don't use a CWDT setup (personally I think it's bad practice to get hit at all) so I manually spam Bone Armor, Spirit Offering (Desecrate first when no corpses which is rare), and my Defensive Flasks (Basalt, Granite, Quartz)
Guys whats better a lvl 21/20 summon skeleton or a lvl 20/20 vaal summon skeleton?
