[3.2] Abyss Shripper feat. Chin Sol - Raider TS Barrage / 6k+ Life 3.8M Shaper DPS / Uber Elder Down

For what it's worth, I killed uber elder last night with something similar to this (deadeye though as I love the chain). My gear is by no means great - barrage damage is a paltry 1.2m

killed uber elder with 3 rips

I even forgot to remove hh :\

If I dont like playing with Mirage Archer, what would be a great replacement for that support gem?

I'm using Increased Critical Strikes.

That said, once your gear is good enough where TS one-shots packs on a 5-link, Mirage Archer is wonderful as it will clear maps for you.

I switched to ICS b/c my gear wasn't great Mirage Archer wasn't any faster.
Is there a leveling skill tree ?

This is the most shit build.

Have like 10+ex invested and cannot do a tier 6 map without dying.

I put less than 2 ex into a sunder build and was doing t10 and uber lab.

Obviously I am not he richest guy , but I feel I should at least be able to farm comfortable with this amount of investment.

I would love to see your PoB, because I fear your HP is really, really low. This ranger build is different than other popular TS builds that rely heavily on queen of the forest and huge evasion stacking to never get hit. You need to build HP with this build, because even with real gg gear you end with only 36% evasion and low armour, because of using the 3 abyss uniques instead of 99percentile evasion items.

Just trying to be constructive here, but you haven't geared this character according to the guide.

You wasted almost an ex on +1 drillneck. Get a wed/critmulti/70+ life quiver.
Both of your rings and amulet have no life, change this. You don't even need a ton of flat damage on your rings. Start with simple 70life/dual res opal rings or even sapphire/topaz/etc rings.
Better resists on boots will help with losing the res on rings, and to be honest you can get more life on boots. 25ms/80-84life/30+/30+/30+res boots can be had for 25-40c, thats not a huge investment.
You need 2x abyssal sockets in your gloves, thats another 35-45 free base life you're missing.
Same goes for your belt, abyssal belt for more free life/damage. Notice you get 1% more life per Abyssal Jewel you have, from your chest.
Get rid of your life flask, use Atziri's promise. The chaos res and leech on chaos damage actually improves survivability. Drop oak for a Dying Sun once you've saved enough currency for even more damage.
Fix your magic flasks in general, all it takes a few alteration orbs or a beastcraft. You're not using a Silver flask for onslaught and you don't have curse immunity.
Two gems in your LA link are extremely low level(8 and 12). Getting all of your gems, in general, leveled up will get you a lot more damage.

All of these are really quick changes that will leave you with a ton more damage and life.

Edit: You should link your PoB or at least make your characters public if you want honest critique on what is wrong. I have a feeling you're quite low level(judging by gem level) and low life, and possibly don't even have your last ascendancy points yet(status ailment immunity is huge for survivability).

The drill neck is from me doing having trouble deciding between this and the doomfletch build, its just what I had to use to test the build. gems are low because, well I bought them for this build. I do not have any of the other stuff because I was 10+ ex in not including quiver and barely killing anything. A small breath of air was enough to make me die. Yea maybe going from jugg was hard, but stutter stepping everywhere and not being able to kill reds on t4 was a barrier for me.
Very nice build. Still trying to get +2 TS enchant to fulfill my goal and level 95.

I think I'll go back to Mirage Archer as I'm dealing much more dmg right now.
Edit1: I've tested all 3 ascendancies. From my opinion, pathfinder is the more consistent overall. It can be slower than the other 2, but it is way more consistent damage and MS for mapping. Used deadeye until 86-87, then raider until 92, and pathfinder for the rest (95 is the goal).

With low-level gems, missing ascendancies, etc., this build is indeed fragile; however, as gear, levels, ascendancies, etc. improve, the build gets better and better. As can be seen in the videos, with a finished build, it's extremely powerful with awesome clear speed.

You need to invest (gem levels, character levels, ascendancies) into the build. Just buying some of the gear (as you've found out) isn't enough.

What I did is farm really low level maps at first. Clear speed is so good that you'll be gaining levels in no time. Wait for gems and your health pool to improve before moving on to higher level maps.

Once gear is intermediate or so, clear speed is awesome and trash mobs offer little challenge. However, bosses might still cause trouble. What I did (am still doing) is use this build to clear maps (with my current gear I'll tackle up to T13) up to the boss, and use a separate boss killer toon for bosses. This way I can still level and improve gem levels with little fear of dying; and, it's much faster than simply using my slow boss killer for clearing (Righteous Fire juggernaught).

I've saved up quite a bit of currency and am now about to invest in some better gear which will allow me to tackle bosses with confidence.

TL/DR - don't expect to immediately run high level maps with this build. Improve your character bit by bit, tackling content that's easy for the build. After awhile, your toon will improve to the point where it can confidently tackle all but the toughest bosses without fear of dying and will rapidly clear maps - this is main benefit of the build (clear speed and DPS are extremely good). And with practice, even Uber Elder is doable with this build.

I finally saved enough to purchase a Farrul's Fur for this build:

It's a huge DPS boost.

Tooltip hideout TS w/ Ice Golem, HoI and Anger up went from 34K to 65K, and Barrage went from 36K to 74K.

The rest of my gear isn't great and my tree is currently set up for clearing maps not bossing - so the DPS numbers quoted above would be even higher with better gear/tree.

As a Deadeye, FF boosts DPS a lot more than it would for Raider, since Raider already has permanent Frenzy charges.

It can be annoying hearing your charges drop every 8 seconds or so - to avoid this I took an extra power charge duration node (total of 2); I now have 6 frenzy and 4 power charges up at all times.

p.s.s. did not think over another class lab?

To be honest, this build isn't designed for uber elder killer. I had hard time until I get used to the fight mechanics. This can be seen in my first kill video. Sure, you can do uber elder once you get to end-game gears and learn the fight. If you are looking cost-effective uber elder killer, this isn't. But this build has high potential, and high clear speed plus bossing.

Some help would be appreciated : https://pastebin.com/8hc3gain

Cheers!

You don't absolutely need another quiver. Personally I open inventory, pick up my quiver, press x, drop it on chin sol side when i walk into a boss room. Quicker than blade flurry swap that every reave build does(reave to bf, set down reave, multi to maim, set down multi, re-set rightclick to bf), and saves you 3ex ++.

This is exactly what I did in early league. Once I can afford 3-4ex to comfort my laziness, I made another quiver :)

What I want to say from your gears and skill gems, is that you are not playing this build anymore. Completely different flask setup, drillneck, and rares that prioritize damage over life. This is not recommended at all.

Please follow guide. Because English isn't my first language, it may have wrong wording or disorganized but I think I did my best.

I always mentioned t1-t2 life first, and it should be prioritized.
If you looked at gears and my budget starting gears, it's clearly seen.
I wouldn't repeat once more here. What I'd do with your gears, is that sell 6L windripper, buy 5L and other gears with life rolled. This is what I recommend in gear and budget section.
