Hello, I took inspiration from your idea (it's very nice. Very cool and thoughtful way to showcase a meme build that actually works- great work and thanks!) and made my version of the build with Ascendant JUGGster RF (char still leveling, but progress available at https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/PonsJons/characters (PonsRockHard)).
Once frozen- char becomes a true tank machine, tanking even fully charged Uber Izaro. Although without buffs (and debuffs) I degen about 150 life/s which is still not that bad (but combining RF with blood rage hurts a bit too much when no trash mobs around). Trickster and arakali gives a total of 100% increased life recovery which is amazing (4800 life regen at 6000 max life), that is why I chose Scion. RF + Balefire Scorching Ray give pretty good DPS. Also, here are some questions about your new 3.1 build: 1. Since Watcher's Eye has a limit of 1, is it really enough to have only 10% phys dmg taken as cold? It seems that in your case with 200 energy shield and 80% max cold res it would take about 3000 physical hit to freeze you for a base duration of 3 seconds (1200 phys dmg for 1 second base). 2. Brass Dome hits block chance really hard, is it still worth it to invest into block with better Reckless Defense jewels and Rumi's Concoction? Maybe a basalt flask would give more useful mitigation? 3. With your current gear you have barely any flat life, so wouldn't it be better if Abyssus was replaced by two good steel rings and a life helm or even The Formless Inferno? Also, since Endurance charges are consumed so very often and do not have time to get to a maximum number, is Death's Door really that much better than Kaom's Roots or even other high life and MS boots? " Very cool character!! I like the idea. Post some videos please :) As for my character you bring up some very good points (and accurate ones), keep in mind I don't think the 3.1 character is necessarily better than the original and didn't state it was (other than ancestral call) it's still being tested. 1. I have a love hate relationship with watchers eye, deaths door and brass dome compared to kaom's roots and a rare essenced armor. I can partially answer '3.' I don't like that I lost 200 base life not using kaom's. I also don't like door took me from 100 ES to 200 ES. Your right the calculations went much higher to hit max freeze. I also don't like high armor of brass dome limits my freezes vs trash mobs I would rather take more damage there for longer freezes. I do like that against harder hits death's door causes 4.5 second freezes instead of 3 second freezes. I do like not taking increased damage from crits due to brass dome. I do love taking 0 damage from most traps in the lab thanks to death's door. I do love being able to still blind enemies which kaom's roots does not allow. 2. Basalt flask is a good idea I would suggest it. Rumis was just a carryover from the previous build. A small downside on brass dome for a large upside in juggernaut double armor and no increased crit damage taken. 3. I did drop bereks pass for two rare rings for more life. You are absolutely right about formless inferno when I put it into path of building I think my flask up armor went from 75k to 100k or something ridiculous like that. Also further reducing physical damage is always nice. Dropping izaro claw for kaltensoul to make fire damage freeze too + even more cold res is a great combo with formless inferno. Formless inferno is an underrated helmet In the end I felt like I needed the flat damage for more DPS so went with abyssus.juggernaut already does less dps than chieftain. I also have a love/hate relationship with abyssus as armor doesn't mitigate degen and it makes elders tar ground, atziris trio tar ground, vulnerability, blood rage etc do a lot of degen. Hope that helped ...I can't say it's the best build but it works. I definitely think the watcher's eye opens up huge potential. Just off the top of my head maybe I throw on a kaom's heart and replace abyssus with a 6l shaped or elder helmet and go back to chieftain and kaom's roots that'll fix any life issues :) I want to take it further but cant right now :( (I'm putting together a 400% increased AOE 15k ES beautiful celestial righteous fire build!) Sorry, can't record any gameplay video with my potato laptop (I do not consider 15fps laggy mess a video). Your build has much better clearspeed, but my build has a little better single target.
Kaltensoul! What a great find! Completely forgot this existed. With this in mind, I deduct these things: 1) With Kaltensoul only lightning damage (and chaos, but it's very rare) would have no chance to freeze, which makes the main build mechanics even more consistent. 2) Getting Kaltensoul would mean dropping RotP, which makes me change damage skills, since RF is no longer an option. 3) Getting a lot more max cold resistance overall is not that great, because I would rather be frozen a little more than take less cold damage, BUT this gets completely countered when I loose 50 base energy shield given from Rise Of the Phoenix. 4) Dropping RF allows me to free up my aura setup in body armor and so I can use 5-link or 6-link setup for damage. 5) Then the hard part - I need to think of a way to deal damage with only my main hand, gloves and something like 15 passive skill tree points available. Have been thinking about mechanics and this build for the past two weeks and I am still very motivated to optimize it as best as I can with as modest investments as possible. |

Your buff just got insane buffs in 3.2 Chieftain changes ^^ thats nuts.

Very nice build. I was trying to make a self freeze build myself and went another way.. but I can't seem to make it work. Perhaps I just don't get how freeze mechanics work but was hoping you could tell me what I am doing wrong.
Rather than base the threshold on ES, I decided to go CI and hurt myself with Scold's and have Phys taken as Cold from Crystal Vault, which also stops chills. Currently I am casting about a 140 mana cost frostbite curse with shackles of the wretched to self curse, but I don't freeze despite the damage taken from scold that is converted to cold being much more than my life pool. I know the damage is being converted because my shield has a taken as lightning corrupt and is shocking me. My guess as to what is wrong is one of two things, either the damage for freeze is counting my life without having CI and I'm not taking enough damage, or Crystal Vault is bugged and also stops freeze, which is not that far fetched considering that pob has cannot be frozen on the armor despite it not saying so in game. |

" Do you have a character link i can review? Crystal Vault i was so hyped for when it was teased, my favorite item, when the stats came out i was disappointed :( |
|
"Should be my char TenFPSforLife, the stuff on it is mostly there for a proof of concept rather than a final build. |

Unfortunately , CI still calculates freeze duration based on life before CI, you aren't really at 1hp

Hey, very nice idea.
Did someone think about using Three Dragons and Lightning Coil to self freeze? Would be nice if it works. |
