pretty sure that guy is trolling, this is my first poe season coming from d3 and afer playing srs for like the first month i switched to doomfletch since my main in d3 was always dh ( multiple top10 solo leaderboard finishes yada ).
i killed shaper about 25 times as pathfinder and like 10 times as raider since i swapped to test, all self farmed with guardian maps. did around 10 uber aziri as well from mostly self farmed fragments. i self linked my 2 doomfletch, crafed my own rings and one of the drillnecks, self farmed kaoms. my boots are 37c my belt was 5c and my amu was 3ex. the +2 devotos is my most expensive item for 5ex. mapping is ultra smooth and fast with the build, you will occasionally die to reflect yellows ( maybe around every 20 maps ) nothing else can even touch you. you can run tornardo / frost / ligthing arrow does not matter at all everything dies from 1 hit. all red map bosses die in like 3 secs, how can you have any trouble with them. most do not even finish their first animation. this is even with a rats nest i use for mapping without +2 barage. guardians are super easy as well, sometimes you even skip stuff like cloud phases from chimera since you dps them so fast. i sometimes die to phoenix when i think i kill him before he finishes the aoe bomb thing that is all. how can you even die at shaper at all, the only thing that can sometimes kill you is the aoe balls stuff from one of the mini bosses when you are greedy with flasks as a raider, shaper himself goes down so fast and you can facetank beam even without flaks up. obviously dodge stuff like slam and the balls. overall i have to say raider is even faster for mapping and more dps for bosses but requires more knowledge and gear since it is possible to run out of flask charges during some bossfights which does indeed suck IF it happens. but as pf you will always have everything up in the time you need to kill the bosses like uber aziri and shaper. next season i will start doomfletch much earlier and stay raider for the most mapping stuff and swap to pf later on i guess. here is my poe pastebin for ppl who think you need insane gear or whatever ( 3.2 mill shaper with no power charges since i do not run power charges setup atm- 3.5 with pc which is only a couple chromas or a second pair of boots away ) i do not even run wise oak atm as raider so no juggling around resistances for balanced wise oak as well, no boot enchant since i am still looking for a upgrade but poe trade is kinda dead atm. https://pastebin.com/TYMR36sz Last edited by ecco23 on Oct 6, 2017, 1:29:59 AM

Quick question, what helmet is recommended in hardcore? Or do u use abysus in hardcore also?

Aside from the obvious of quality and level of gems are there any cheap fixes to boost my dmg? /edit I finally got the doctor to drop, so I have some purchasing power again. I am assuming a 6L doomfletch is next in order for me. I was curious however if anyone has explored the idea of a cheap 6L chest and investing the currency into +1 drillneck and more expensive jewelry instead. " Makes sense, it took awhile for the general public to realize how insanely strong these enchants are, but it was only matter of time before the prices spiked. I didn't expect them to spike this much though. You beat the curve :) It's very much true that the popularity of the build inflated prices immensely, like it always does. The issue with this particular build is that the biggest DPS boosts come from items that are difficult to get and not that cheap, even if they aren't wanted. There's a corruption on a unique item. There are two enchants on a fairly rare unique item. Then there also is the crit gear and steel rings, which both are - as always - rather expensive. There's also the Koam's and the fact that you need 2 6L bows, not just one. So the currency really adds up given all that. This was already one of the most expensive builds of this League early on, even before the prices spiked. It's a build that is very min-maxed towards endgame. It's very well-crafted and that's great! It's just that it falls off immensely towards lower gear levels. It's different than playing a build with more gear levels. With this build, you can't really get a cheaper alternative with a lot of the gear that works almost aswell. That's just a result of how min-maxed the build is towards GG gear, so nobody is to blame obviously. However, if you don't have like 100ex, you will probably get better bang for your buck with other builds at this point in the League. That being said, I appreciate you sharing this build and the effort you put into it! I will probably not be able to farm enough this League to get the enchants and jewels, but it's decent without those. It's not as good as my Cyclone slayer or my deleted ST Raider, but I recon that it will be close once I get my gems 20/20. Also a big thanks to those who suggested Raider and Rat's nest. This works wonders if you don't have superb gear. | |
" 6l doomfletch and a +1 quiver very important for your barrage Use whetstones on your current one. Also use armourscraps on all your other stuff Tempest binding is great if you can't get a kaoms yet, but you'll need a 6l for barrage either way. Either chest or bow. " What about a greed essence crafted 6L evasion chest? Could save a lot of currency and invest it into the other pieces instead? Or would I lose too much DPS by not having the dmg mods that kaoms/yriels provide? |

" Kaoms isn't about damage. It's about providing you a large life pool to prevent 1shots because that's the only way we die. It also allows you to use abyssus, which is about the damage.
