[3.1] The Blinding Blizzard - Whispering Ice Berserker - Viable for Most Everything
" I wish! Probably more deaths than anything else for me. Precasting sometimes works, sometimes hits very little due to the spread. The vaal summon skill is far more reliable so far. In any case I always do both, and have one maybe two other skill slots available so I could have other options as well.
" Hmmm. Just checked as best I could. Looks like both Astramentis and Kaoms cost more than my lifetime earnings on my 2 builds (actually as much as 10x more). Not that that is much, since I just started this game a few weeks ago. Doesn't look too feasible for me though.
" 25-30c is too much? you dont really need a perfect astramentis, a super cheap one works fine. just build up some currency and buy it a little later, just avoid using the strength/dexterity conversion jewels until you get it, that way you can still use your gear and gems fine
" Yes, 25c is too much for one item. More than my total earnings in this game in 160+ levels. Moreover, where I have looked, that is not even close to getting any of the items in question. I'm a nube, so maybe I'm not looking the right way. I see these items priced in tens of "ex", whatever that is. So if anyone wants to get me an astramentis or kaoms for a few chaos (all I have ever earned), let me know. Anyway, I shouldn't pollute this thread with new player stuff. I'm used to reaching worldwide leaderboard level on competing games with similar effort, where key items drop or can be earned or crafted by each player. The trading system here is probably not for me. Maybe GGG should have an auction house.
" Do you know about the 2 chaos recipe? You can farm 25c in no time if you kill stuff with IR. This is an endgame build. It's not supposed to be cheap. It's already cheaper than most and doesn't require any 6-links. But if 25c is a problem, then you just need to get better at farming currency. There are lots of posts and youtube videos on the subject, just google it. Last edited by Kelvynn on Sep 19, 2017, 2:34:46 AM

I got my Astramentis for 19C
If this is too much you are doing something wrong. You can sell so much stuff which is easy to farm, like Orbs of Alteration, Leather Belts, Chromatic Orbs, Orbs of Chance, Chisels/Hammers. And you can do the Chaos Recepie which gives you 1 or 2 C for every Set you sell. Making 20C in 2 hours should be possible just by doing this low item farming. While farming that you always get some other worthy drops as well, like a nice Divination Card or a good rare item. |

" How can you lv 160+ without few ex? Just get chromatic while leveling you can get enough to buy astramentis. Before that, total item cost is just under 10c and you can do up to tier 10. Im now lv90 with 6k3 hp, still die alot while doing t16.(cant kill shaper, im bad at eva skill). Any advice :( |

" I don't know, but I don't remember seeing one. If I did, I probably wasted it to see what it would do. In any case, I just read over a couple of currency guides, and I see that there is an entirely other side to this game that I was unaware of. I've been making every mistake they list, it seems, such as actually using the orbs that drop to reroll stuff. Unfortunately, that cumbersome farming, selling, and buying process they recommend does not sound fun at all. So I guess I will play this build until I burn out, which will be soon if I don't get any drops that improve things. Right now I am stuck at level 85, not because I lack killing power or survivability (I'm at 3000 damage and 4000 hp), but because I get hardly any maps above level 6, so very few xp for doing the ones I have. And gameplay is still so easy that I practically fall asleep doing it and end up dying stupidly, losing whatever progress I did make.
" I will chime in as another nube (started game in June). Right now, there are 5 astramentis below 1 ex - 35c, 50c, 2 @ 75c and 80c in standard league. The 35c was posted 30min ago and the 50c, yesterday. So, I imagine that you can get one for 19c or 25-30c, but it doesn't appear likely without checking constantly. The 35c is already sold/removed, so minimum of 50c... At lvl 86, I have found exactly 1 ex so far, which went for my astramentis purchase at 1 ex - the lowest cost displayed was 75c that day and didn't respond to trade request. I'm not particularly fond of the trading system, so I understand shrunn57's point of view, but it is what it is and you work with it. When I got my WI staff, I had 11c and paid 10c for it. Other than astramentis, that has been my biggest purchase. As others have said, the chaos recipe is fantastic for filling your wallet. " I don't do the cumbersome farming, selling and buying process - just accumulate the currency and balance it with trying to get good rolls without going overboard. I spent a lot of time trying to find the uber trials - finally got the last one at 85, but completing the uber lab will greatly enhance your damage, not that you need more for most content below T10 maps but it comes in handy when you encounter a boss/rogue exile that you can stay alive easily while leeching but their shield defense keeps them from losing life - 10 minutes of a no progress standoff. Upping the dmg takes care of that. And 4k health (same as I have right now) will not be enough as you venture into higher tier maps and endgame content. I'm an old guy and not into clearspeed, leaderboards and the like. Find a good build and play the game is my motto. And I absolutely give huge kudos to Kelvynn for this build and his constant testing and updates. I love it!
" Funny thing about the WI staff. I got my first one as a drop, but then noticed the divinity set for it drops in western forest. My partner wanted one too, and I was able to get another within a short time. The card drops frequently from tribal chests in that map, and probably from other things there too. I think it took 30 minutes to complete the deck, which IIRC is only 4 or 5 cards. If I had a mind to try selling stuff, I might farm some more. On the other hand, I guess the 2c recipe is said to be more efficient than that. |
