[3.1] The Blinding Blizzard - Whispering Ice Berserker - Viable for Most Everything
" 50% increased spell damage is roughly the same as 1 jewel socket. But you lose way too much compared to a good rare. 20 Int is way too low, no Life, no resists. Not worth it. " Nope. Icestorm is a spell, not an attack. " WM is not needed for the Berserker. He has enough leech without WM. TC would be OK but not really needed with the Life version. Blind is an excellent replacement for it. The skill points are better spent on Life than on Whispers of Doom. And you can get more out of the ring slot than Doedre's Damning can give. " What amulet do you have in mind? It needs to give a comparable amount of Int and better Life (remember that Astra's 100 Str = 50 Life?). And if we are talking high end, also remember that Astra is a unique and Perandus will give you 2% increased Int (from everything, not just the amu) with it. I haven't seen anything better than Astra except the super rare Talismans that are almost impossible to get even when the Talisman mod is available. " That's a nice amulet. It can definitely be OK instead of Astra, for a while. But you need 98 Dex for AA and Purity of Ice, and FA to get Fortify faster is good too. I do hope to use Perandus Signet eventually, although it's not necessary. " CI version doesn't work in 3.0. We use different mechanics now with the Life version. " There is no way to get Int on a rare belt other than the Spite essence. Orb of Annulment, aka the 'Reverse YOLO' is way too random. It's just as likely to remove your Int mod :) Inya's Epiphany looks promising, but not sure yet. 8% increased Int is additive with the other similar mods. However, it's a unique, so Perandus will add another 2% on top of that. The problem is losing 70-ish life and two resist mods. You already want Kaom's Heart for T16/Shaper. Maxing resists without boots will be a bitch. Maybe there is a solution somewhere between a super nice belt, Alira, rings and perhaps even a non-Astra amu. But I don't see it just yet. " You will need better boots and gloves. Yours got good resists, but you need more life. And that's what you add after lv 83 too. Last edited by Kelvynn on Aug 11, 2017, 1:56:22 PM

Should I drop 100% pyre in favor of AoF and a rare ring?
|
|
" No. If you are in Standard and have the legacy 100% Pyre - use it. It has good resists and you save 3 skill points on AoF and use a stronger gem than CtF.
My dark Pact Berserker didn't work out too well but this seems to have that same kind of gameplay but work much better so far. The only downside is I had to rebind searing ray to my E key because on right-click it killed my wrist to swing it around the screen with the ice storms :)

What about a well rolled pair of Repentance gloves for Iron Will (like 1% spell dmg per 5 str or something like that), so you can benefit from all the strength you path through on the left side of the tree? I'd load it up in path of building, but am unable to for the next few days.
| |
" The 306 STR requirement makes this a non-starter (as the build converts a lot of STR nodes to INT.)
Any Recommended flasks for this build?
Jkurs on twitch, come and join the action . :)

Just got one weird idea. Will it be good to use Queen of The Forest and Shaper's Touch (getting a lot of evasion from QoTF and boost it by your Int with ST)? Path of Building says i'll have 57% Evade Chance on lvl 100 / 78% against Blinded enemies (with my current gear it is 15% / 58%). I can keep resist with these replacements, but not sure about health (PoB says 4636 at lvl 100, 4848 for current gear but i have no Kaom's Heart or smth like this).
So i suppose Kaom's Heart is much better as you will have at least 6k life with it, but its price compared with Shaper's Touch + QoTF... ~360c in Harbinger versus 5-7c. Can it be at least good budget version of gear?:) Last edited by PraetorianMKII on Aug 12, 2017, 4:12:25 AM
