[3.9?] Sidefx Frost Blades - Hyped for Support +

After patch notes build still viable for 3.0? Nothing changed? Sorry for dumb question but im new to this game.
Still good for league starter build? Or maybe you can reccomend me something else?
Hello,
I'm 85 lvl raider following your guide, I have like +5khp, 75% res and I can't even beat normal atziri.
I'm not the most experienced guy, but are you sure that this build can kill uber atziri/shaper?
EDIT
Nvm, saw video with killing shaper. In this case, can I get any advices? :|

Hey pal!

Loving the build. Been playing around with it for a few days now and thinking about doing frost blades as a league starter for 3.0 to transition into something like this.

My question is: Wouldn't Elemental Focus be better than Inc. crit strikes? I'm thinking: Frost Blades -> Melee phys -> Cold pen -> Multistrike -> WED -> Ele focus.

Why did you choose to go with faster attacks and multistrike? And why no ele focus?

This is no bad criticism I'm just curious about the build and want to optimize it for my playstyle :)

Best Regards

Ele Focus gives much more damage than Faster Attacks. I think you'd want to keep the Multistrike for its more attack speed multiplier and rapid clearing ability. If you were going to drop anything for Ele Focus it would be Cold Pen (except against bosses perhaps). You're already getting 43% Cold Pen from the tree and mandatory jewels. The only downside to Ele Focus is that you won't be able to inflict "chill" but that won't matter for trash clear anyhow.

Sadly the OP seems to have vanished for the last month or so.

Don't mean to sound ungrateful, im glad people "share" their builds, but if they disappear after posting it and say they "testing stuff in beta" and don't look back to topic for the last 5 weeks its very disheartening.

AFAICT, there is nothing noteworthy in the 3.0 patch notes that would change a Frost Blades build - happy to be corrected but I haven't seen any red flags myself.

Even if nothing changed... people still have questions as they are not covered in the guide. Things like certain end game items, or different skill gems, or end game claws vs touch of anguish, or like in my case a couple pages ago, issues with accuracy...

Wasn't addressed anywhere in the guide, so asked about it, got 0 response.

Again not trying to sound ungrateful (which is exactly what I sound :P) but its very frustrating when you try to do a build and the guy who created it doesn't "keep up with it" especially when he has updated on the OP saying he is testing stuff in beta and will keep ppl posted, then disappears for 5 weeks >.<

Yeah I understand, I'm sure the OP will return. Anyway, if it helps, to fix accuracy issues, if you can't afford to drop anything in the passive tree to pick up accuracy there, there's always accuracy on rings, amulet, gloves, helms and on jewels - that might be enough.

Touch of Anguish is pretty key for this build and I doubt there's better alternatives as far as unique claws are concerned - unless you don't care about the skill chaining and are using Ice Bite (more on this below). While leveling of course you can use any rare high phys / attack speed weapon such as 1H foils or claws. There are also good low level unique weapons that should be cheap to pick up.

In terms of best gem setups - when Path of Building is updated today or tomorrow, have a play around. There may be more or less suitable setups depending on whether you're doing general clearing or going after bosses where single target DPS / cold penetration is key. I'll be having a look to see if I can fit in the reworked Ice Bite gem as it now deals flat cold damage and also further scaling off frenzy charges, this could become a vital part of your 5L or 6L setup. Since it grants a much higher chance for frenzy charge generation on kill as well, it *may* mean you can drop one of your Touch of Anguish claws and substitute for something else. You may not be able to drop BOTH of them (and you probably won't - that chain is pretty good).

So yeah you're right - a bit of work to do with the theory-crafting but the "optimal" setups will emerge before 3.0 goes live. I'll certainly be playing around with PoB to figure this stuff out regardless of whether or not OP comes back.

Yeah I theorycrafted a lot on my own and have my own build and stuff in path of building ill be following. Tested some myself on beta. Touch of anguish is great starter and great unique, but not end game especially with single target.

Will be running a full phys claw + lycosidae shield to handle the accuracy issues. Turned out a LOT higher dps on path of building that way. Also gems I believe I will be running is FB > Added Cold dmg > Cold Pen > Multistrike > WED > Ele Focus (maybe icebite instead)
