I've done some additional testing on PoB. At level 20, melee physical support has a 2% increase over added cold. This is more obvious if we get an additional jewel socket for The Watcher's Eye w/ Hatred, additional 25-40 phys to cold conversion. Add Taste of Hate on top of that and melee physical damage support just can't be beat.

At the highest tiers of abyss jewels, flat phys damage wins. Flat cold laggs behind only by a small 0.5-1% so it's no fuss if you're not planning to scale heavily with end game accessories.

The helmet is for the heal not the projectile, and for me the projectile is still shattering/exploding mobs so thats a + also stuck on t7 maps? how I just did Elder and his guardians with 4k hp. I dont know how some people shred and some people cant do anything. I have yet to find in comparison to each other what the issue is. honestly I think its play style some people have it some dont. Also thank you for the abyss jewel search :)
Idk, I can't find justification to picking up this helm for a small heal on an ICD of 1 second. For trash clearing, the high damage and capacity to freeze lowers the need for small, periodic heals ranging from 150-250. On the other hand, I can also see that the small heals could allow for some slack in reaction times.

I feel like once people get steel rings and other major damage boosts, light poacher will be the one item holding the build back. But I'm just guessing from a week worth of gameplay :)

Also, lagg and stutter kills movement skills like whirling blades...
Whirl to point B and suddenly you whirl back to your starting position. R I P

I have played tons of variants ranging from pure molten striker, to molten striker with frost blades for aoe clear, and pure frost blades using frost blade threshold jewels. I have tried out tons of items including the lightpoacher helm and both wasp nest's and touch of anguish for weapons and I loved every bit of it. I'd like to say thanks to the OP and everyone who has added useful information to the thread!

Currently this is the gear setup that I have settled on. I am running red maps with a 5.6k life pool on a 6l belly. This build just steam rolls almost every map mod. This is my current gear.

Lvl 87 in abyss with almost same tree, all i can say its very fast and effective MAP CLEARER build and any t10+ boss its a trouble for you (4-5 mins fights) if u not invest around 20 Ex in gear (ele dmg rings/ammy + 6l Belly or Hirri's Ire + good Abyss belt with ele dmg + triple dmg abyss jewels + Touch claws its around 3 ex total now (40c/1ex). Despite i have 8 frenzy + 3 power charges up with more than 60% crit, dmg is around 70k noncrit = scratching bosses to death. Using Darkray boots over any other give you good 16% dodge/62dodge total(40 tree +6 asc) + 40spell dodge and 4k Hp, but boss fights takes so long u die often making some mistakes if boss not total dummy. You can add new dodge gloves for more https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Oskarm
Lich on white map was easy, pure mechanical fight + dps check/ abyss crack fights is breeze. Compared to my last league 37/40 3x totem inquisitor, dmg of this its like 3-4 times lower.

I'm curious about taste of hate mechanics, from what i understand of the tooltip the effect is equivalent to a 20% reflect?
Last time i did a reflect map i got insta death on a ~30mobs pack....
How can this flask be worth anything?
I think i'm missing something but no idea what.

Also didn't know there were new unique jewels dropping from the elder, thanks mate :)

Hey i like the build so far but one thing bothers me, why you take add cold damage instead of ice bite support? with 7 frenzy charges its the same dmg and we get 15 % extra freeze chance or did i miss something?
