[3.25]g00fy_goober's EleBuzzsaw Deadeye (Easily Clear All Content) *REVAMPED AGAIN*
Sorry if this has been asked before, but how's Scion looking in 3.0? They changed Raider to give Frenzy Charges on hit. Might be really good in combination with Assassin.

" Scion is definitely better than it was (which was absolute trash) but still not on the level of full raider I don't think. I mean frenzy generation is definitely huge, but all the other bonus points are going to be stronger I think. Will have to wait for official patchnotes/updates to say for sure, but pretty sure full raider will still be the way to go. |

Any reason for not using Elemental Focus instead of inc crit as 6. link. Looks like a lot more damage?
| |
Hi, really close to selecting this as my 3.0 starter. Been really struggling deciding between this and SRS. That being said, a couple of questions:
1. How does this build preform on a 5L with decent gear? What tier maps could you clear as fast as that gorge run from the videos? 2. Whats the curve of investment vs return look like for this build? Is it gradual as more currency is pumped in or do you plateau out until you invest enough to make the jump up? | |
" Elemental focus is a great gem, the problem is most ele builds use forms of status ailments. This build is not any different. You get a flat 10% chance to ignite, shock, and freeze on top of you almost always critting giving 100% chance to ignite, shock, & freeze. Dropping inc crit strikes, lowering how effective your multiplier is, and losing all your status ailments is not worth the slight bump in tooltip dps by using elemental focus. " Build performs as a pretty great league starter with minimum investment. Obviously you will not hit 50k dps without min/maxing but you obviously don't need that number either unless your doing guardians and shaper and such. In 3.0 I think this build will preform even better. Claws will definitely be the best choice then, bandits a little different and added lightning and added cold gem received a pretty big buff. With the 2 to 2 1/2 times the boss hp now in all maps under t16 leveling a slower projectiles to swap out will be bigger than ever now. As for your 2 questions... 1. Build is perfectly fine on a 5l to start, though I think I would rock a tabula over a 5l and then only go to another 6l from there. The exception to this would be if you got a 5l belly. Either is fine, just think 6th gem will be more beneficial and you should be able to get your res from other gear just fine. However for a 5l you would just drop inc crit strikes and would be able to run just fine. Telling you what tier you could clear would be impossible to guess. Depends on gem qualitys, rest of your gear etc etc. However with normal average gear and normal leveled gems and such, mid tier maps should not be an issue at all and most high tier maps should not be any problem. 2. I think its a pretty decent curve myself. I ran this build exclusively in legacy and did not do any other builds. So I would upgrade a piece of gear at a time. That being said... there are a couple pieces/upgrades that make a tremendous difference. Some of those things are getting a 6l over a 5l, getting the 40% chant on helm, upgrading a weapon from like 250edps to 300+ or w/e. My strategy always goes in stages, obviously at league start use w/e you find. Upgrade your weapon (claw/dagger/sword don't matter) until you start getting the specific nodes (which WILL be claws in 3.0). Get a tabula when you can, and upgrade your cheap pieces (boots/gloves/belt etc) to cap your res and get as much life as you can. Rat's nests are always pretty cheap even start of league, (10-15c) slightly higher for a well rolled one, so always pick up one pretty early. After that go one piece of gear at a time and upgrade. I usually go for around 1 ex a piece. Farming for currency, trading chromes/alts and shit for chaos, and chaos recipe itself lets you get chaos orbs pretty quick. I am absolutely no pro when it comes to this, but selling a few things you find + chaos recipe + trading currency for chaos its pretty easily done. Then upgrade a piece at a time. Then work on 6l belly. Then work on end game items to min/max. This is why I usually devote 1 entire league to 1 entire char. There is just to much to do and I hate not getting end game stuff on a char. For example doing a boring summoner/srs or w/e other build running a 4l (5l at max) in crap gear to farm for a couple of weeks and then swap. I really enjoy taking 1 build that can be used as a league start and a build that has HUGE investment potential. Putting in all that work to upgrade to best gear and using it for league feels much more satisfying to me. Of course everyone has their own play style, but that's my thoughts on the matter. |

Thanks for the build man!
I was having trouble choosing a build for the new league and I'm so glad I found this. It has everything I'm looking for in a build. Cheers. |

Is this build likely to be safe enough to run in HC for 3.0? Probably already answered somewhere but I didn't see it mentioned in FAQ or the last couple pages.
| |
" Hard to answer the question as I am not a very big HC person myself. Its definitely possible, but probably better builds out there as well. Life is not super high on this build, especially for HC. Personally if I was running in hc I would change things or run a different build, like dropping some dps stuff and picking up more life, swapping rat's nest for starkonja (even though I hate that helm) etc. Definitely not impossible, but would probably attempt another build. |

Great reply, thanks for that. Thin, I'm going to try for 36/40 this league for the first time.
Pretty set on this I think, unless I have a last minute audible to my now second choice, Frost Blades Last edited by dperls on Jul 28, 2017, 9:19:52 AM
