[3.25]g00fy_goober's EleBuzzsaw Deadeye (Easily Clear All Content) *REVAMPED AGAIN*
Hello, right now my unbuffed dps is about 15-16k, which gear should i keep/change? |
|
" Oh haha. Ya I don't do races every really so guess that's why I don't know the abbreviation. The best thing I like about the ST build, is early game flat ele damage stacks really well. You get lmp + ST and with just a handful of flat ele dmg on a weapon it gets you through the first 4 acts. Then you upgrade from like 15-20 edps to like 50-100 edps and your solid till maps almost. " Just look at the example in guide and the current gear and upgrade what needs done. Your weapon is only 280 EDPS. Its not bad, but can get a lot more. THe big issue with it as well is the APS is pretty low on it. Your rats nest is a super low roll and does not have 40% ST damage on it. Belly is decent and its 6l which is good. Most of your gems are just level 20 with no quality. Need to vendor those with a gcp each and get quality on them. (no need for quality on wrath though). Your jewelry definitely needs some upgrades. Not awful, but lots of room for improvement. GLoves you should definitely get a pair of gripped gloves because 18% projectile dmg is really nice. |

i like it soo far!!!! fun dmg feels some what "okay" towards end of cruel but i really dont have much yet in the 2 week race event. Question However... Is There A reason you don't bother to use a CWDT setup? wouldnt that save ur ass more often? plus possibly have ur golem setup as well to it?
|

" Few reasons. 1.) There are no links left. I would not get rid of vaal haste + vaal grace just so I could do cwdt. 2.) CWDT is ALMOST completely useless without having endurance charges. When you got 3+ endurance charges your immune to phys dmg for a good 2-3 seconds and that's great. Yes it still works without but its literally like a fraction of a second. Waste of a setup if you don't have endurance charges IMO. 3.) I don't have issues needing to be saved. I mean pretty much any of my deaths with this build were. Shaper/Uber atziri and most of that is because I have almost never touched them before. Im very inexperienced to end game farming them. The rest of deaths were due to crazy mechanics like volatiles if I happen to be right on top of them (which is fixed now in beta) or crazy essence packs with like 4-5 things on them. As for golem, I recast maybe once a map, im perfectly fine with doing that. |

Really loving what I've played of elemental spectral throw (even though I'm well shy of endgame/power spikes) and this build is what I'm aiming to use next league, probably as a league starter.
I'm also very new to the game and unsure as to what I find most fun that's also ultimately viable, so I have what's probably a different kind of question than usual: what are other archetypes you enjoy playing based upon your standards for the game? Any that really stand out for 3.0? |

I'm going Swords instead of Daggers (found an incredible one-handed foil) and my tooltip with Elemental Focus is way higher than it is with Increased Critical Strikes. I searched back several pages and through the first 15 and found no reference to it. What's your take on this support gem over Increased Critical Strikes?

" This is a very hard question to answer for me. Personally I am not someone who flips or gets a ton of currency. Usually for a league at most I only do like 2 solid builds (sometimes more if I don't like a build I did). So all in all there are a ton of builds I haven't done yet. I literally have a whole list of ones that sound interesting and I still want to try. The other problem is to me I am super picky about stuff and what I CONSIDER to be a good build. It has to be somewhat reasonable cost wise (nothing like 30 ex+ in gear/links etc), has to be able to do all map content including guardians (shaper + ubers is a bonus), has to move fast, be able to sustain mana, have a fun playstyle, etc etc. Honestly its very difficult to find builds that meet all of this criteria so far to me. Will use warchief totems as an example. Warchief totems are a very popular build, especially as a league starter, they very easy to gear, scale well and do a crapload of damage later on. However when I did the build (2 leagues after they were "meta") there was one thing I could not deal with. The time it took to cast the totem + the extra second it took for them to actually pop out and start swinging. This bugged me to no end, as once you ran into monsters all the monsters would come running towards you and you couldn't throw the totem in middle of them, because it would miss half by the time it started attacking. You have to sort of guess where the monsters would be and throw totem in front of yourself and kind of run around your totem to keep the monsters in the radius. It wasn't terrible, lot of players didn't mind the type of gameplay but to me it absolutely ruined the build. Something like dual flame totems was a lot better to me because they started attacking instantly. Anyway I haven't found a build that was like ST to me yet. My next build to test in beta after wipe (next couple days I hope) and the one I want to start league with is going to be blade flurry. I have never done the build before and it is sort of similar to the ele buzzsaw build. I actually bought Faster attacks + Blade flurry gem a couple days ago just to replace ST + GMP and test it out. It did really really well. The tree changes a bit, projectile dmg and jewels and such are meaningless now obviously as blade flurry is aoe not projectile. I am also hoping to run as assassin and be able to drop the ICS gem for INC aoe with bflurry and use conc effect for boss fights instead of slower projectiles. Also plan on trying out claws as they should be reasonable, little extra life/mana on hit, and cheaper then daggers. This will allow me to grab the claw leech wheel and avoid the pure leech wheel at the bottom. Need to test a good amount in beta and such, but I have high hopes for it. " It surprises me that you didn't find anything through the first 15 pages, as I feel like I am asked this question on a weekly basis, between my videos, ppl pming me about build, messaging me in game, and posting on guide of course. I will definitely add a section to FAQ about it a bit later today when I get time. Personally I prefer daggers as the base crit is more than swords and the base attack speed is a bit lower. Swords are the opposite and I feel that crit is harder and more important to get than attack speed. However foils + claws are still very good and in some cases to some people even better. I never actively tested them a whole bunch personally but going by all the feedback of those that do, some prefer it. The big difference tbh for some reason in the price... Swords and even claws seem to go for a lot cheaper. I mean my dagger I got for 3 exalt. For some reason current daggers (now that most ppl are completely done with leagacy league) people have listed at like 12-15 exalt. Probably why they are still listed at that price for months and still haven't sold tbh. As for elemental focus its not a BAD gem, I mean its a more multiplier with ele dmg which is exactly what we are. However the tooltip might be better on yours depending what your crit is at. I do not have a 20/20 gem to swap it with and see how it does, however our build is a crit build and it scales incredibly well with crit multi and such. The best dps builds are always high attack speed and high crit capable IMO. Its just so powerful in almost all ARPGS. To give you my data atm.... With golem + auras (no flasks or diamond flask calculation or charges) my crit is at 57.7% with 21/20 ICS and 53,320 dps in hideout. Removing ICS changes these values too.... 37.36% crit and 41,742 dps. SO a loss of 20% crit chance and 12k dps pretty much. Again im sure the gem wouldn't be awful, but personally I would rather stick with the crit. |

Thank you so much for the reply!
I'm still gearing up and building currency to burn on equipment, so bear with the lower DPS counts right now. All values with L21 Wrath, 20/20 Herald in hideout 5L without Crit Chance = 21,359 DPS tooltip, 25.69% chance to crit Add Crit Strikes Level 15 20 Quality = 26,408 DPS, 40.68% chance to crit Swap in a Level 18 0q Elemental Focus = 31,036 DPS (and same 25.69% chance to crit) Given Critical Strikes seems to become exponentially more effective as your base crit chance / multi improve (will improve as my equipment is not where it needs to be yet), I'm sure testing results will differ once I fill in the gear. As I stand right now, the game is giving me a strong objective measure that Elemental Focus might be right for now. This probably is based on swords having lower crit multi overall. Current weapon (again, the reason I chose swords - will be hard to top this since I just burnt my last ex buying the 6L Belly): |

" Well obviously you have to go with the flow and fit in what you can, and afford what you can afford. The sword has a nice bit of EDPS on it and that added bonus crit multi which is nice. The best part about foils however is that they can give you 2+ Aps pretty easy, think it goes up to like 2.08 with max roll. Yours however never rolled the aps, so it was crafted on it giving it a total of 1.84 which is pretty low and only very slightly better than a dagger. My dagger being an imperial skean has 1.81 aps on it atm. The big difference is that since you had to add the 15 IAS, you couldn't add the crit, so your crit chance is 5.5% on weapon. So not to be mean, but all in all its a decent find, but w/o crit + attack speed you can find a much better foil for not to much. Right now on poe.trade there is one up with 356 EDPS, 2.02 APS, and 7.31 crit for 2 ex. |

Hey, I'm thinking of doing this build when 3.0 launches. I have a question though, why no Englightnen - Empower - Wrath setup in +1 to socketed gems in Lycosidae? I'm pretty new to the game so pardon me if there's something I don't understand yet :)
