Sounds like we found the issue, try to achieve AT LEAST 5k life, get more life on gear, flat life on abyss jewels if you already use belly of the beast, change around some passives from damage to life nodes. Don't blindly follow damage, because when you're dead not matter what damage you have in tooltip, you're doing 0 dead from the floor. Also of course, don't forget to dodge telegraphed skills, don't stay still hoping that you survive.

Beggining with this build can be rough, but this applies to every build tbh, i just did Forge of The Phoenix vaaled and died 5 times with 5,3k life, but that's because i was panicking and emptied all my pots of first skill and ran around like a derp into fiery tornados.

Also DO NOT forget to keep your Fortify up, it gives you more defense than you think.

I thought the avian skill could be useful on bosses because Herald of Ice is not doing much there, it's and aura reserving 25% mana so i have to switch it off and on which is kind of annoying. Also sadly in ho with just auras and golem i have more or less 31-32k tooltip dps with GMP/52k~~ with slower projectile. I just find my survivability lacking a bit, because sometimes i find myself in situation where i feel despereately hopeless, it's not even fact that there's no more instant leech, i just get one shotted, no discussion. And yeah, the helm enchant i got very lucky on my own merciless lab and hit jackpot on first try.

Also just recently looking at diffrent spectral throw build i got enlightened and wonder why aren't we using Blood Rage? I know it can be quite messy during mapping due to Vaal Pact, but on bosses this sounds too good to not include it, attack speed, more leech, what's not to love?

I mean im not against aspect skill if you want to mess around with it. Herald of ice even if it does not shatter or curse still adds a bunch of cold dmg to your attacks. You should never use slower projectiles for general map clearing. and 30k is not great, but should be just fine for this early in league for general clearing. For boss swap to slower proj or if you have to skip boss flat out. Not like they are rewarding anyway.

As for blood rage there is no point. We already have a frenzy generator as we are raiders. Everything already explodes instantly, so using a gem slot, just to get minor attack speed and degening life while we do it? No thanks lol.

What do you think about Malachai's Simula before Rat's Nest? Gives good Lightning Damage and Blood Magic might be good since I'll be lifestealing a lot, and I sometimes run out of mana in boss fights.

I think it is terrible.

You lose like 700 evasion 70%+ crit chance, 10% move speed, 15% attack speed for what? blood magic which we don't want anyway and 20-30% lightning dmg.

Epicly terrible trade off sorry to say.

Yeah but before I have money for Rat's Nest... This is my 1st character.

Even as a first character (which is fine) a rat's nest without enchant is what like 5-6c? You most definitely should be able to afford 5-6c helm, even if you convert some alts/chromes or something to chaos.

The aspect of the cat combined with 2 items from the set looks straight out broken for us, both damage wise as well as survivability wise

+
Farrul's Fur (which is sadly pricy at the moment, starting at 10ex just for 6s) allowing us to get Aspect of the Cat without mana reservation and pasively (!!) generating both FRENZY AND POWER charges. Even without the Fur with just Bite (Helmet) we get massive amount of crit on bosses, turning off herald of ice, turning on aspect of the cat.

Its very possible. GGG said that the new "set items" are incredibly powerful. Now I know very little about all of them, what the best combo would be and if they are worse than old gear. There is a good chance that they would be much better if done right. Sadly I am not doing ST this league so won't be able to test it out. Obviously as well I won't change/update guide as it is a league only thing atm. This might change in future if they roll it over to main realm. I plan on doing a good bit of research/info about the items, the aspect skills and making a little chart of what the trade off would be. IMO this is what keeps the game always addicting and enjoyable. Constant new changes with gear/skill and always something to do and strive for.

4k is incredibly low. With good gear you should be over 6k. That means you are 2/3 of what you should be atm.

You also have to keep in mind that maligaro is a chaos damage boss. Just like almost any non CI char that means your chaos res is like -60. Have to be extra careful on things like this.
Hello ! New deadeye any good for this build ?

Doubt it as we rely as well on attack speed from Frenzy Charges as well as from Crit rather than anything from Deadeye ascendacies
Been playing this build for Beastiary league. Seems to be decent so far. Currently level 86. I still have a ton of gearing and gem leveling to do. Tooltip is 10.8k dps which seems exceptionally low but I get by in yellow maps just fine.

Dear goofy,

first of all let me thank you for your great guide,
and secondly sry about my english, its not my mother tongue.

I decided to go with your ST variation for the league start because I didnt play ST for more then 6 months now, and loved it back then. I know my gear on my char "NagashEleBuzzSaw" is far away from what it should be in the end, but I think its a decent start after app. 1 week.

Its hard to get good jewels, especialy with decent flat life rolls on it, and because I hate things like temp chains, freeze and getting slowed in anyways I decided to try to go with kaoms roots for the life, the immunity and the +1 frenzy charge it gives me. No freeze flask in the end could help too, with flask I thought, because I could be able to go with a curse immune one - what you think ?

Like many others I rly struggle with map drops since monday and am not able to constantly play red maps, but to be real, in a strange way I am happy about that, too. The mobs seem to do a lot more damage with the changes this league (increased damage on maps feels like "more" multipliers now) and since app. T8 maps I often got one or two shot in maps, even from white mobs. I cant remember playing a character that felt that squishy in a long time, but maybe thats only because I have troubles getting more life atm - sitting only at 4,5k.

I decided to take the claw nodes (4 points) you didnt recommand, because Path of Building shows more damage per point then a 3 point awesome jewel, and more crit for me seems great for that build, too.

In the end, I hope you have the time to look at my char and tell me what I can do to be not that squishy, and off course tell me how I will get from my 30k HO DPS to your 67k !?

The char is great fun, as long as you stay on open field maps, because ST threw doors if the mobs dont come out of their rooms is terrible, and maybe you can tell me what to do against these red/unique beasts, because fighting them with greater multiple is terrible (they have a lot of life) and you dont have the time to switch their, too.

Thanks for your time and answers in advance,

Nagash

Kaoms roots are great boots, sadly they are not the greatest for any evasion character. The unwavering stance that they grant makes it so you can no longer evade attacks. This is a giant turn off and a huge defensive loss.

I would keep at it. Dps numbers get crazy with every gear piece that you push, every gem level, every gem quality, every jewel. It is only 1 week into the league so things will take time. Same with getting a reaaly good (if that is your thing) like 20 ex claw. Need to farm and save up money.

As for map drops people in my guild and on reddit say these every league. I have never had an issue sustain maps. I save up at least 10 of a tier higher before I do it and I never run out of red tier maps. I chisel EVERY map and alch and never have issues. This isn't blind luck or RNG. I read people complaining EVERY league, and every league I have no issues at all. From here until the end I will never run out of red maps.

As for the red mobs some of them are super tanky and hurt like hell. I would definitely swap slower projectiles in for them as they are tankier than even some of the tankiest bosses. I however am not doing ST this league so have no idea how hard they are. But with dps + 6k life + block + evade + dodge + leech + fortify you should be able to live just fine.
