This build is really good to start with and scales really well into late game. Also, you can reroll into popular Frost Blades build with little effort. But its more of a trash clearer build. Its one of the fastest map cleaner, but its not really boss killer. Solo, you will have no problems with bosses up to T15 maps, but in full party you will struggle with some bosses.

Would be nice to see any of that reflected in the build guide, an example claw, the removal of the example dagger. I had never read this guide before, why would i read the changelog in my first pass?

That being said, thank you, this does answer my question.

This build was posted up since before 2.6. I am not doing this build in 3.0. How would you like me to change all my gear? Claw is literally the same exact thing. Any "ele weapon" will be the same just base aps/crit will be different. Stats you look for also remains the same.

As for the changelog its simple. Huge expansion just came out, and its the first line in the post. That is why you read the changelog. Because every single patch usually changes something that effects almost every build.

Special thanks to some of the other guys who are taking time to answer many of the very redundant questions. I appreciate you guys helping out while I sit in game and get my grind on :)
Goofy - just wanted to extent my thanks for the guide and the convo leading up to the league start. Rolling through new content, level 50 right now and build is starting to feel great.

Question is for you/anyone really:

I had an early ex drop for me last night and while I would typically hold it till chaos/ex ratio rises and it gains value, would it be recommended to grab a high ele dps claw while league is still young? Would something that's like 300 ele dps be worth that early ex (even though I couldn't use it for a bit) or should I chop it up and focus more on Rats nest/lyco/rares. I've never really dealt with rare weapons before so unsure.

Appreciate the help from any and all.
IMO I'd splurge on a claw over getting the other pieces. Price on good claws will rise. There will be more options down the line but if you find a really great one then i'd go for it. More DPS allows you to farm faster which results in more currency. You can always pick up 1-3 chaos rare pieces to cap resists and get decent life for maps up to T11. I'd splurge on the claw then start working on the other stuff.

That's definitely my thought but just wasn't sure. I know 350 ele dps is sort of the target, guess I'm in price watch mode officially. What ele dps should I use as my bottom end you think?
Has anybody in this group tried min maxing this on PoB? I'm still not sure which gem to use right now as there was a lot of discussion on using added cold and ice bite instead.

You'd give up a bunch of boss killing DPS but survivability would sky rocket. Does seem fun though.

Great build. Am at act 9 and it's a breeze so far, very smooth levelling process.

As gear gets replaced so quickly while levelling I haven't bothered with OoS yet but would it make sense to use:

Herald of Ice - CoH - Assassin's mark (power charges while clearing)

OoS - CoH - Power charge on crit - Ele weakness (power charges & ele weakness on bosses)

But you can only have one curse up, so the moment you hit the boss your assassin's mark on hit will overwrite the ele weakness. You're better off taking the cull and the increased area suggested by the OP. More range more charges generated.

If there's only a boss without adds, HoI won't shatter anything and Assassin's won't be applied.

If the boss does summon adds, then yes, Assassin's mark will overwrite Ele Weakness for a second before OoS can re-apply it.
