Yes, get AoF and when you get a Xoph's Blood just respec the points. With 100% fire conversion, that fire penetration we get is a HUGE dps boost. You can go by without AoF, but if you can temporarely 'sacrifice' a few points to get it, it's worth it.

Elemental Focus won't allow us to ignite anything and it's one of our biggest damage boosts 'support gem wise'. The emberwake+taming combo is best used with Oro's.

Don't you think flammability is a bit overkill? How is it working out for you?


I'm finding this set up to be amazing. After doing some research on resistance penetration, I found that more is always better.

Calculations :

You do 1000 fire dmg.
You penetrate 50% fire resists.
Target 1 has 75% resists (capped).
Target 2 has 0% resists .

In the first scenario where you hit target one :

Target 1 has 75% resists and you penetrate 50% end resists 25%
1000 fire damage x 0.75 = 750 fire dmg
Compared to no penetration
1000 fire damage x 0.25 = 250 fire dmg
50% fire penetration gives you 200% MORE damage

In the second scenario where you hit target two :

Target 2 has 0% resists and you penetrate 50% end resists -50%
1000 fire damage x 1.50 = 1500 fire dmg
Compared to no penetration
1000 fire damage x 1 = 1000 fire dmg
50% fire penetration gives you 50% MORE damage"


The fact of the matter is the more pen you have the MORE damage you do. I'm not using elemental focus in my axe and I don't have any DoT nodes so my ignites are pretty worthless, but it's still slightly more damage. I might switch back to it, but I'm not sure just yet. I don't really have a DPS issue, my issue was doing hard map mods and not living and now at 87 I have just under 6.2k HP.

My build is working for me, but everyone should put their own tweaks on their builds.

I'm using a Fertile Mind jewel like Icoblablubb said. It will pretty much solve all of your int problems.

Yeah, No problem. The life is real low on this build, which is why I've modded my build to include a Kaom's. 6.2k life at 87 is amazing!
how much attack speed you need to have for maximum proc Molten?

Did u try to drop acrobatics nodes and go for iron reflexes? i think it might be better with kaoms.
And this points u can spend on 3 duelist nodes life+armor+evasion.

I'll give that a try when i get home! I will report back here once done.
After doing some tests using Path of Building, looks like with fire pen we already have (axe, amulet, 2 passives) fire pen gem is better than elem focus only if our target have >67% fire res.

Well I've done some testing and i must say so far I'm feeling this setup. I did a 2 man party yesterday running some really rippy maps, -max, vuln, extra dmg, double beyond, etc. And i was overall very surprised at how tanky i am/ feel.

I'll link my current gear / flasks and give a brief description of skill dmg / stats.

following the dodge tree I had 46% dodge chance with my Kaom's Heart, 7% Dmg Reduction and roughly 20% evasion chance. After dropping the dodge and grabbing the 3 nodes under duelist for eva+armor I had 6.6k armor (34% dmg reduction) and thats pretty significant. Since our movement speed is already fast I've replaced my movement flask with a granite. I get 16K armor (57% reduction) with that up and it's up almost 24/7.

My DPS on cyclone is about 29k with 8 charges, My Molten Burst is at 8.1k with the same 8 charges.My fire pen with the Wise Oak flask up is 99% + flammability which reduces monster fire resist by 42% atm. that's a combined 141% penetration.


I've so far had no issues dealing with hard hitting mobs, but i'm also running a (oh crap) flask as safety. It full heals my 6k HP should i require it.

Overall, I'm super satisfied with how this feels and how my damage hits. I'm grabbing a few axe nodes for damage right now, and will look to see what's best after that!
