SRS + BLOCK , viable?

Hi guys , im planning a CI , SRS + lots of block build for pvp ,do you recommend a lot of reckless defense jewels?

i think i will choose a Necromancer or a scion ( scion for Occultist ES regen node and Gladiator block chance node )


any tips for skill tree and gear recommendation?

I went witch necro, CI, ZO, with about 10% es regen and 12k es. Combined with a decree of light enchant (regen on crit) on gloves, and life/mana regen enchant on boots.

Towards the end I started using a couple reckless defence jewels to help proc crits for regen but I don't think it really helped the build much. Block was already high.

I used a high es shield and advancing fortress claw (15% block). With bone offering I maxed out block 75/75 with a Stone of Lazhwar ammy. I also used a Deceiver (30% reduced crit) belt combined with Indominable keysstone (20% reduced crit) for extra defense.

Movement with LW was a little slow, due to increased duration on Mistress of Sacrifice passive. I also experimented with using a fast 1h sword on main hand for fast whirling blades.

SRS were in the chest. Gems I used were: spell echo, minion damage, minion speed, empower, fire pen, alongside the Minion Instability keystone for explosion damage (fire and chaos).

Stone golem was in a +2 minion helm. It had around 50k life, for massive chaos damage upon death with beacon of corruption.

Against faster players I switched to a Queen's Escape 2h sword (extra minion speed) so the srs could better chase them down.

I picked up unwavering stance for stun immunity since I was face tanking a lot of the time. Flame dash on cwdt helped close the gap.

Ascendencies: Mistress of Sacrifice, Beacon of Corruption, Commander of Darkness, and Spirit Eater.

Overall the build did quite well in pvp. I found it most difficult to kill tanky CI guys and aegis users. My build was heavier on defense than most other srs guys in pvp, although lighter on offensive damage. Has it's pros and cons.

I played a similar build and my main problem was that CWDT/Desecrate will not trigger against ranged attack as CWDT target the source of damage leaving you without Bones very often if there is no corpses around you.

HoA is also a hard counter to SRS.

From my limited experience of fighting tanky srs necromancers in sarn, minion movement speed seems to be the stat that makes the biggest difference in how dangerous the necromancer is.

im thinking take iron reflexes to use a legacy aegis and ''Grace'' aura , and 3 sockets for jewels for use 3 Reckless Defence and for offense maybe a dagger with '' Reduced Enemy block chance'' and cast speed? what do you think?

maybe i will need more fire damage nodes?

If you can find a +3 fire gems bow from essence league you can use that a Rearguard quiver, Rainbow stride boots and bone offering for CI srs.

at the moment i did a lvl 82 char in essence , im using the most of firebrand's post ideas ,
i think unvawering stance will be mandatory or guys with ice storm will be a problem , flamedash+cwdt going to be mandatory too against EA guys ,

i tried this one for stun
but i lost a lot of block , so i guess stone of lazhar + Unwavering Stance still better

im using Raimbow stride boots for more block probably i could change them for death doors boots(just for bleeeding guys) but i will lose block and i will be easy to kill with ignite

ignite still a problem probably i need more ES regen

my block at the moment is 58% to block attacks , 66% to block spells and 75,75 with bone offering

im running 2 auras Discipline + Anger , im not sure if take '' reduced mana reservation '' nodes in skill tree will be a good idea , i already spend like 2 or 3 skill points in mana nodes , and im using 2 of these

i have 7.7k of ES but i still pretty tanky , i can facetank many high lvl guys in sarn arena , im using Aegis cuz i have a legacy aegis in standard

im CI and my skill tree is ES hybrid , i have life regen nodes + some armour nodes

btw this build is pretty good in pve lol


i was thinking in a bow version with Dethklok post

but maybe i will lose a lot of block? or maybe i must use 4 or 5 reckless defense jewels in skill tree with that version


if somebody could help me with Auras Recommendation or more skill tree ideas will be awesome

I too am theory-crafting a CI version; and I too appreciate Firebrand stepping in here with some solid advice XD. However, I am leaning more to the Bow/Rearguard side of the house...mainly because I like having 2 6l's, as well as my SRS sitting in a +3 contraption hehehe.

Espada, a couple of comments for ya;

1) Take a look at demigodking102 profile; he keeps his profile open. Character is AnnoyingWaffles. Perhaps there is something there that gives you an idea.

2) Why are you using 2x Dream Fragments? Since you are on Essence, get some high ilvl rings and throw some Fears on them. Such as
Drop 1 DF for something else.
