what is the strongest pvp build ?
" Simple must be doing something right in CTF with his bear trapper, since he's been number one on the ladder or close to it for awhile, with limited play time. There are no other bear trappers that play CTF I'm aware of. IGN: _Firebitch Last edited by Firebrand76 on Oct 19, 2016, 4:33:47 PM

There seems to be hardly anyone else in general doing CTF lol Just some of the regulars
Lavender or Leave.

" The other bear trapper Rup likes referring to is Lapiz's which is very strong in 1v1 because of the spammability of his clusters. So when I talk about the power of bear trap, I try to talk about Lapiz's version because it IS the superior version for 1v1. Rup doesn't care about sarn and doesn't care about CTF. We're trolls and whatever other adjectives he likes to describe us as. We're "shit". What we do in CTF is different and my version of bear trapper reflects that since it was made purely FOR CTF. Obviously, I get next to no credit for that, but at this point I just shrug it off. My version of bear trapper fares better in CTF. I don't need trap cooldown in my links whatsoever and that has been proven time and time again in all our matches. It just doesn't fit the playstyle. Lapiz's trapper is great for 1v1s, mine is great for CTF but definitely not for 1v1. Obviously it's going to kill anybody that can't outpressure me (IE.: what lapiz did when we fought) or out range me (IE.: almost everybody else) because of the damage, but I made it to control terrain in a large map and to fuck around in sarn. It's way too squishy for the small 1v1 map. As for how I fare vs EA; Same as everything else that doesn't sweep. I win in CTF. I lose in 1v1 (because 1v1 maps are EA's kingdom) and I kill the idiots who chase me in Sarn or I just sit behind a wall and nobody kills each other while I try to gather players for CTF. Lib does have skeles and traps now because he's an adaptive guy so he's mitigating a lot of my power in CTF. Thankfully, there are several other players like him who take the time to sweep and they win regularly so it makes it fun. Rup only thinks of 1v1 as proof of viability. That's all he gives a shit about so if you're going to argue with him, you have to do it in that context. If that's what he values, it's fine. He just refuses to do the same for us and see our point of view. I'm personally done. 1v1 queues are mostly dead and not worth my time so I don't bother making 1v1 characters. We've been doing very regular CTF matches for quite a while now. NPC guild is growing, we're getting more players, everyone's having fun, we help each other defining and perfecting our builds and just enjoy each other's presence. There's little to no salt in our matches and I love it. Crit Shockwave Totem 650k +: #1657327 / Crit VMS (1 mil DPS): #1511368 / Crit self-cast spark: #1565708

" That's all I ever hear about regarding bear trap in pvp. His version that he played a few months ago for a week then abandoned (if I recall correctly). Bear trap is considered "top tier" more so due to it's potential rather than people actually playing the build. Perhaps it's not "fun enough" for people to grief others in sarn (like EA and LA), which is why we don't see it more often. IGN: _Firebitch Last edited by Firebrand76 on Oct 19, 2016, 6:23:38 PM

" Bear trap's PvP power is only really known to this select crowd. We don't exactly have a huge PvP community and certainly no streamer to spread the word. And since it's just the lot of us, everybody seems to find his own little niche with not too many copycat builds (except bow builds I guess). I'm not the only one who wants to play a skill that other people aren't already playing or haven't played the way I envisioned it. Most people who just wanna faceroll/copy with a T1 super meta build will go with EA because it's a lot more versatile. " I think your at an impasse where you stopped having fun. In order to motivate yourself to be competitive you have to have fun first. Fun of course is prerequisite to being competitive under the probably true assumption there is nothing to gain win/lose. "Ctf guys" in your reference are people just trying to have fun. Calling them greedy ect isn't a fair assessment considering you have a lot in common with them. They would enjoy your company as you would theirs. | |
At the end of the day, everyone have to find his own fun.
Let's be real here, pvp in this game is an absolute joke and will stay like that until the servers shut down. There is no pride to get and no skill to gain (especially when RMT is involved), you will never be celebrated as an amazing player and if you do, it will be by maximum 10 players. If you look for praise and glory, this is definitely the wrong game. The only thing to do is to enjoy this mess and learn to close the game and do something else when it get too retarded. " Not sure if I would go that far to say your version is outright superior in CTF as they play out very different. It is obviously the strongest CTF build in your matches so far. My version is more of a tanky attacker/sweeper than anything else whereas you mostly defend I assume (if we exclude the spawn killing). In that sense they fit 2 completely different roles which makes it a rather hard comparison. Too bad you guys play at 2-6am for me and I have to work so I cant join ;< And the rock paper scissors is indeed towards Hot > EA > Bear > Hot Firebitch, when it comes to 1v1s, libs EA is pretty much the only thing that can do anything to the bear at all. It is that dumb in 1v1s |
