After tests and tests I found also that added lightning attack vinktar is way better than lightning penetration for daily use. Huge boost to damage (all lightning) and therefore to leeching.
Maybe pen is marginally better with shaper but i fail to notice.

Penetration is MUCH better, regardless of the enemy. Not sure what testing you were doing, but mathematically speaking pen > added.

This is outright wrong.

When you compare numbers in Path of Building, the only situation where Pen is better is against a boss in T16 or Shaper when running a mirrored bow. That's what I meant with lots of false information. Btw the numbers are on page 154.

Noob here. In terms of single target dps, which one is better: Pathfinder or Deadeye?

It depends on lightning resist of the mobs. The normal mobs have low lightning resist so added damage goes well with them. Shaper has higher lightning resist so penetration works better. That's the theory.

Hello, I just visited this thread to ask if WED is kind of "The Support gem" for full ele conv builds? I'm still making my mind up if I will or will not swap from phys to ele with S. Flare + PtL and I didn't use WED gem so far so I don't have red socket on my bow.

Hello all, I have a newbie question about the CWDT - IC combo of this build. I am not very experienced with such a setup.

I can see the build generating Power Charges one way or another, but I do not see e.g. an Enduring Cry somewhere or any Endurance Charges beyond the base three ones. How does the build generate enough Endurance Charges to have a meaningful duration of IC?

Path of Building calculates your effective DPS, meaning it includes resists, penetration etc. Unless you have a mirrored bow, flat attack damage vinktar beats penetration vinktar, and even then the difference is minor. You can try it out by yourself.

I ended up dropping CWDT IC on my own personal setup for a curse on hit setup for general mapping. You run herald of ice instead of ash (slight dps loss) and proceed to use a curse of your choice. I use poacher's mark. If you want ultra dps, use something like ele weakness.

This is just personal preference though. The CWDT IC setup gives you the ever so slight phys mitigation but nothing really substantial enough to warrant its gem slots. That's why I've been messing with COH setups instead.

I'll be updating the gem section in the next coming days before 2.6, which will include variants like a coh setup, and what to run if using a ROTC.

My profile is always public, check out the character "BST" to see the exact setup I'm personally using as kind of a rough template.

What order would you pick up ascendancy nodes? And in what cases would you suggest pathfinder over deadeye or vice versa? Didn't see much discussion around the ascendancies in the video or post.

I have this bow atm, I am thinking a legacy reach of the council might be better?

If so, what gem to use instead of GMP? Increased crit?
