RANGER FACEBREAKER - CRIT

Those following Beta have seen this build has been nerfed with change to bandit reward (Kraityn no longer gives frenzy charge) and Abyssus and FB crit multiplier have basically been cut in half.

If you were running high crit roll Abyssus like me (I have 224% crit mult Abyssus), then in total this build has gone from approx 1.45m AOE ttdps with melee splash to about 1.16m.

So loss of about 300k DPS.

That includes a respec to the new Alira reward for crit multiplier which gives more DPS on this build than Kraityn's new reward (yes that's how useless Kraityn is now).

This change will only be noticeable if you are doing the T16 bosses who have high HP.

Fear not, I am re-pathing and have found that going to Witch instead of Scion & Duelist is giving me higher DPS than before, and a little extra life too.

So net I expect to come out with the same if not higher DPS and a little higher life in 3.0.

Love this guide, been using a somewhat modified version myself for the last few weeks. There is one thing I am using however I have not seen mentioned here, (from what I have looked at, this thread is rather long) +1 Frenzy charge Redblade Tramplers. From what I know they are the only boots with flat phys damage, 5-10 on high roll, and the immune to burning ground seems somewhat relevant as well since it makes charging into packs of flaming wolves easy.
Hi I tried this build before but failed it due to not having enough budget.
Now I was thinking about playing it as I was able to farm up and buy some gears.
I have noticed that you have dropped P2L gem in your 6 link.
So is it better not to convert the damage for lightning?

Hi, thanks bro. I hadn't taken a look at Redblade, thanks for the suggestion. I did some checks and it is a very good boot to wear if you can't find Darkrays with +2 frenzy charge. It gives about 30k less DPS than +2 Darkrays on max phys roll, and about 120k more DPS than a Darkray with only +1 frenzy charge, so it is a very good boot.

Thanks bud. P2L is actually fine for T15 and below mapping. I dropped it because I was doing T16 bosses of which most cannot be shocked, so I replaced it with Melee Damage on Full Life. To use Melee Damage on Full Life you will need to spec Vaal Pact as well. Good thing is you can use Vaal Pact with good results without needing any extra leech from the tree or a VoV, even 1 v 1, due to how high the crit damage is.

3.0 UPDATES

Nerfs:
- Lost a frenzy charge from change to Kraityn bandit reward. We are now down from nine to EIGHT frenzies
- Lost critical strike chance due to nerf on Power Charges
- Shock nerf: no longer a fixed 50% multiplier, but now scales based on amount of damage you do, but still capped at 50% (on a hit that removes 10% hp from enemy)
- Shock nerf is not a big deal for this build - T15 below bosses will still be shocked/one-shot on the regular build using P2L. The T16 bosses with high health were mostly shock immune before anyway. I had switched from P2L in 2.6 to using MDOFL + Vaal Pact which gave me more DPS and survivability

Item Nerfs for this build are all for new versions of the items so you can still have legacy items with the old values:
- Decreased critical strike multiplier on FB
- Big decrease on critical strike multiplier on Abyssus
- Lion's Roar: more Physical Damage lowered to 20-25% from 30-35%

Tree Changes:
- This is the original tree where I path to Duelist and Scion areas
- Bandits have to be changed to kill all to get the 2 passive points. This gives you an extra passive point on the tree than what we had before. I unspecc'd from the 2 mana nodes for Primal Spirit - giving me 3 extra points to spend
- I put 1 point into Weapon Artistry and the other 2 points to get Poisonous Fangs on claw big wheel
- This is just my preference and what I found to give the highest DPS. You can use the extra 3 points for whatever you prefer:

New Tree for 3.0:

Alternative Tree to Witch: in progress
Spoiler
- This is the new tree I will be trying
- Gets extra power charge, a little more life, more crit multiplier, and high increased flask effect by Witch. Giving about 130k more DPS than the new build for 3.0, and about the same DPS that the build had pre-3.0
- Removes duelist pathing
- Removes Acro. Reason I did this is because I am using Vaal Grace (can have 2-3 of these) for bosses anyway which is overcapping my dodge. So I have removed Acro and then by going for Raider Onslaught buffs and using Silver, and Rumi's flask (which will be boosted by Witch Alchemist nodes) I can recover some of the defenses and still get higher DPS by going onslaught path

Other Changes I am Working On:
- So far Brutality / Ruthless / Maim supports do not give higher DPS than my current links
- I would like to incorporate Bloodlust gem to swap for Melee Splash for single target. This would give me an extremely high DPS increase for single target, I just need to find an easy & reliable way to apply bleeds from an alternative skill or from ancestral totem
- If you don't use Saffel;s you can use Brinerot Flag as your alt-shield to get some power charges before boss fights
