This is a min-maxed endgame build viable in both PVP and PVE. This is not a cheap build.  Hey guys! Since Ascendancy is soon upon us, I wanted to snapshot and share my 2H RT PVP build with everyone as how it's been for the past few months. I've been melee in this game for 3 years doing all sorts of builds, but I have to say this character has been some of the most fun I've had playing this game. So quick and tanky, and great versatility. PVP and PVE, it's just so much fun. First off, I wanted to say thanks to the whole PVP community as I've learned so much about game mechanics and gearing up than I ever would by just doing PVE. I owe a lot of thanks to MyBrother, Sith, Mulla, Tommie, and Xukai as I ran with the vast knowledge of 2H they shared with me, and I wanted to share it with everyone! Obviously I'm crazy about this build so I invested heavily in what I believe to be one of the most important parts, but up until this point I would just recommend using a disfavour. I did for a long time, and it works great until you can afford the upgrade. Range > dps. Or if you can afford the upgrade now, come mirror one for cheap from me. <--- cheap plug #keepingit100 ;) Caustic arrow offhand primary function is to disturb, and help dictate the flow/tempo of the match. It adds a whole new element that I believe really helps set this build apart from many others. Get a cheapish 6L +3 bow. Doesn't have to be amazing. I have Sith's old bow (<3) and it was pre-metamod so it doesn't have eDOT on it. Drillneck or Drillneck +1 arrow gg, no point in using anything else! Just picked up an alt art blackgleam bow today to skin the drillneck with. Gotta be fresh! Anyway... Helmet - I know, I know. The first time Sith told me about Hrimnor's I thought he was joking. 100% freeze/chill immune with Crystal Skin on the passive tree means I never have to worry about being frozen or chilled in PVP - fuck flasks! Hahaha. Right now in this meta where AA, AB, WI, and other skills are so prevalent it beats out the Devoto helm. Chest - I used Legacy Kaoms for a while, but after switching back to reg kaom's I honestly couldn't tell that big of a difference. Small boost to my added fire, and knockback immunity corrupt gg enough IMO. Sure, it's 1.3k more life, but when you're talking about a health pool of around 10k, 1.3k isn't really that much. IN MY OPINION. I made that Vortex Gyre, metamodding, took me 55ex to hit t1 life. WORTH IT! Belt - The guy I bought it from said it dropped just like that (w/o move) in torment. Don't have the balls to yolo it. Best case scenario T1 edw just gives me like 1k more dps which is nice but again, no balls ;) Gloves - just like 10c, I need to get better ones but eh? At some point :) Ammy - The +1 Daresso's is on loan from Lib. Thanks wallhoe! Only one we've ever seen. GG as fuck <3 Boots - Casters give me such a hard time in HLD, I pretty much wear Atziri step 35% move boots 99% of the time. Since my Caustic Arrow doesn't help against CI, I have to be able to charge the fuck out of them and withstand their crazy crits! I have 35%chaos res boots and other swapouts as well, but you want to be able to swap boots at any moment.
Jewels
The perfect jewel is Life/phys axe/area/all res - Area boosts both cyclone and Caustic Arrow. Obviously, wearing Kaoms makes getting res a great thing on jewels as well!

Attack Swapouts
Again, this is for my colouring of RRGGBB. You can change into a few different attacks and never have to switch colours that's the beauty of this colouring :) The Best is Static Strike so I'll get right to that: Static/FA/BCR/P2L/Light Pen/WED This is a 100% lightning damage attack that bypasses molten shell, and I am capable of killing Qbot and other immortal builds, depending on their cwdt LW/FW RNG and kiting abilities. Again, this is an RT build so that's a big deal. lol The first anti-block method I had (pre-static) was light pen heavy strike. Heavy/FA/BCR/P2L/Light Pen/Melee Phys This would absolutely wreck arc/block/caster builds, especially CI since they have been traditionally easy to stun.
Ammy/Gem swapouts
The Bloodgrip is just a sweet ammy all around. T1 Phys, no extra bleed dmg, some life, and most importantly for PVP that Flask mod is GG. Even if you're not fighting a bleed enemy, this is a fun one to start out with and see how long you can make your flasks last. Shaper's Seed is great at the end of matches to regen life much quicker. My life regen is already pretty great, so slapping another 2% is a big deal. Also could be very useful in 3v3s! Regen for your whole team! I actually usually use L21 CWDT/TC but I've just been using a lower level lately for sarn arena so it goes off more. In 1v1's I recommend L21 That's all I got for now. Nice build Ahfack, can confirm that this will put out a good match vs any build.
I like the hrimnor's resolve part the most in my opinion, most out there were using devotos but the other helm is well underestimated, no dream fragment is a good opening for more options. Nice our 2h builds are pretty similar, The tree me and VictorDoom came up with is only a little different, the ranger/duelist start dosnt change much :D Also you should have grabbed those TC on hit gloves Sith had I think they something like that would be a strong upgrade for your build but overall GG gear man!
Im wondering if youve tried not using BM at all? Cyclone only costs 30-40 mana so at first glance seems like you could get a free aura and herald now with a little investment into mana regen but I havnt tried it myself in PvP yet. BTW are you sticking with duelist for ascendancy or do you think a different class is going to be better for 2h RT now? IGN:Dethklok

Very nice thread, with good explanation of your mechanics, and good thought about using mainly area damage as dps dealer for your physical cyclone and your PA ! It seems the suggestion has been fastly done on a previous post, but what about playing with a bit of mana leech from tree (the nodes on the ranger part for ex), removing BM passive and playing 2-3 auras. I could imagine arctic armour for slowing ennemis + haste, just getting 25-50% unreserved mana for main attack ? Good luck for keeping your build stronger to stronger man ! |
