yes it does, but hardly worth it. It does not get increased by the totem via totem life or similar.

So a discipline aura with 315es will just give effective 315% "life" which is not worth the reservation except its used on the char anyway (some Ci, LL or hybrid version).

Its an interesting approch, seems a little bit link heavy and even slower than pure rf totems, but i would like to see it in action :)

for doubledipping the best use is probably fireball with some rolling flames.
Less practical compared to 1h + shield with doryanis, but seems like great fun in open layout maps shooting fireballs in 3-4 packs around you.
Could potentially shotgun if you jump right on top of a rare in a pack without less dmg from gmp or similar...or even better with traps.

I am new to this game and I am using this guide to build my first character. I am pretty sure this is a noob question but I really cant figure it out: How come my orb of storm never can deal any damage? When I use the skill, it occasionally zaps the nearby mobs, but not dealing any damage.

Ancestral Bond (dual totem) sets the damage of the character to zero, but it can still crit (procc elemental overload) and procc other on hit effects like curses via curse on hit, blind (gem, some items) for excample

I have a followup question: if I dont do damage with orb of lightning, then I can only do fire damage with my totems. If I get Elemental Equilibrium, wouldnt I have less fire damage while not having another element to deal the extra damage? (also I wouldnt have enough hotkey for an extra spell with righteous fire, searing bond, vortex, orb of lightning, leap slam, and endurance cry on my plate.)

Also, how do I know if I am doing crits with orb of lightning?
degenerations dont trigger ee: searing bond, rf, scorching ray excample do not HIT enemys ans thus cannot trigger EE.

Vortextrap / vaal lightning trap trigger EE. For packs not necassary, but for bosses a great damage boost.


You know that Orb of Lightning crits when your elemental overload buff is up in the buffbar ;)

For boss fights, do you recommend dropping searing bond/vortex/oos/leap/endurance for vaal lightning trap?
Hi, love the build. One of the strongest I've played since I started PoE. Props.

Question though: My Orb of Storms almost never procs Elemental Overload because the chance to crit is currently only 5%. Am I missing something? I'm not quite through the whole tree yet as I'm only level 67 but I'm finding it totally useless for right now. I'll drop it during a big fight and will find that it never procs because the chance is so low. Any ideas?

each zip of OoS has a seperate critchance, if you throw it in a pack before a boss it should be up.
I never had issues keeping EO up on bosses, sometimes EO triggers instantly, other times it maybe takes 2 secs, but thats it. Once it is on it can basically not run out.
