"If an enemy is left with 10% life or less after getting hit by a skill with Culling Strike, they will be instantly slain. "
I don't think that damage has to penetrate es to cull. the fact that life is under 10% already is enough for cull to work.
This, you have been culled :D
Same thing happened to one guy that died in tempest to a "corrupting tempest of animation", animated weapon corrupted with the culling strike implicit while he was on low life --> he died instantly
This game never ceases to amaze me :D

yep, it doesn't but with that gem you can still slowly lose your life and then get culled.

Wow, that's epic in a twisted sort of way.
I remember a quote by some of the devs (Mark?) a long time ago: Viewing game data, I have reached the following conclusion - if you want to die, wear a Shavronne's.
The Wheel of Nerfs turns, and builds come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the build that gave it birth comes again.

That statement was back in nemesis iirc, more precisely when LL dual spork totems were the most OP crazy shit around this game.

Yes, somewhere around that time.
